Service was horrible. App did not work. Food was "blah" totally unhappy. So basically tried to place an order through the app. Got an error message that "items were unavailable" thought it was weird so I drove on to the restaurant. Told the employee the issue I had through the app and the employee told me they would honor it. Basically got the $6 smash burger meal and also a free reward (4 piece jalapeño poppers) in the app. Once I got to the window it was way more than anticipated. I questioned the price and was told would have to pay for the poppers. Showed my phone to the guy and he saw the message. Said he would honor the pricing. While they were making my order noticed I was charged 30 cents for toast that I did not ask for. Let the cashier know but told him not to worry about the price because I just simply wanted my food. After receiving my order did not get fries. When I asked about it the cashier stated that they could not order the free app offer so I had to get the jalapeño poppers and not the fries. I visited the drive through at this store yesterday (a Thursday) with a coupon for buy-one-get-one free footlong coney. The girl who took the order (I believe she was new) couldn't understand me and asked me to pull up to the window. I drove to the window and a young girl in a blue shirt was standing at the window, made eye contact and promptly turned her back to me. After a few minutes, a slightly older girl with long hair and a red shirt came up to the window register and made a great show of making change or something else at the cash drawer. She did not make eye contact, either. At no time did either employee greet me or say anything like "hold on, please." After 5 minutes, I said goodbye (the window was partially open) and left. To the Owner/Manager of this Sonic: You should consider fixing this problem. By the way, I am white and both of these employees were black - figure it out. read more

Lately, my wife and I both noticed the quality of the beef used in the hamburgers has diminished drastically. It's so bad, we just don't eat there anymore. I went to this sonic drive-through last night to use an offer I received in an email from SONIC. When we made our order at the microphone, they didn't know about any discount and told me to drive around. When I got to the window, my husband and I were completely ignored. The window was never opened. We waved at the people inside. The cashier was counting money in the cash drawer and two other people were working inside. All three of them saw us, actually made eye contact briefly, but totally ignored us. We tried to get their attention for about 10 minutes. Decided to give another chance - ordered chili cheese coney and tots and my date ordered a cheeseburger, no onions, no lettuce, no tomato, and add chili, with fries. Tots and fries were both burned and inedible. Rubbery cheese outside of chili dog stuck to bread. Cheeseburger was dry, did not have the chili as ordered, and instead had everything on it that was not supposed to be there. This was my last time giving them another chance. EPISODE #37: THE TWILIGHT ZONE - My experience at the Sonic on 3763 Sullivan St. in Madison Alabama convinced me that yes, the minimum wage is too high. We drove up to the drive through and waited behind an elderly lady in an oddly oversized truck. After 5 minutes of crickets, I noticed the woman's facial expression had not changed nor had she shown any movement. I was tempted to go up and poke her cheek to check for signs of life,... but decided she may be armed (this IS Alabama...). After another 5 minutes of immobility I drove from around her and went to the window to see if there were actual humans inside. The scene played out again this time with an even larger truck with windows so dark a Black hole would be envious. Same crickets, same immobility. I parked the car and attempted to enter the main building where, I assumed all the activity should be. I was approached by 'Sarah' and informed they were severely understaffed. So I went back to my car and ordered from the little booth I drove into: 4 corn dogs, an all-American dog, and a Hot fudge Sunday. The speaker crackled to life and the voice on the other end said (in an undecipherable dialect) ............... "we don got no Hot Fuj". "OK, I'll take a chocolate Sunday" ..... We don't got no choklit "How about caramel?"....... don't got none that neither "What DO You Have??" ..... we got 'niller ass cream "fine I will have some of that"........ u wont cup or cone? .... this isn't happening I thought. After an amazingly brief time, a freckled faced young Cherub delivered our order to us and spoke in stunningly clear English, "thank you so much for your patience and order. May I get you anything else?" Befuddled by the linguistic redirect, all I could do was just shake my head no. Upon examining our order, we received two modestly warm corn dogs, what I hoped was a hot dog, and an oversized 'cup' of plain Vanilla ice cream. All this for $7. I decided the juice was not worth the squeeze for this and just drove off towards home. Today I have learned: Fast food is anything but... Minimum wage exists for a very good reason... Absolutely disgusting!!! My son wanted to take me out for a Coke with some cream added. It took such a long time even though there was no one in front of us. Looked like workers were just hanging out and talking. The WORST part was the cashier who took our order. As the Coke was overflowing because of the sweet cream, he scraped his finger across the top of the cup to shave off the foam. Workers that work there - we can see what you all are doing. With the way things are, it's understandable to be frustrated HOWEVER, when I made my order tonight the young lady that was working the window was very unenthusiastic about being at work. There was no greeting just, "what can I get you". I politely ordered, loud and clear so she could understand me only to be met with mumbling and no customer service; "pull around" was how the order ended. I totally understand what it feels like to work thru frustrating moments but the customers are not at fault; especially ones who greet you with smiles and no attitudes. If working under this pressure is a problem, sonic isn't the right place for her at all. I will make a corporate complaint because this is the 3rd visit to this location that I received poor customer service. I usually try to give credit where credit is due, however, I am so disappointed with this franchise! They were very disorganized and looked to be understaffed. I felt bad for the workers. First, I clicked the button at one of the ports rather than going through the drive thru. After 10 minutes with no communication, I decided to go through the drive thru. After in the drive thru, it took around 15-20 minutes to get a Vanilla Coke. I am just glad I wasn't in a hurry. I was as gracious as possible to the worker as this is a management issue and not their fault. My advice to anyone who is looking to go here, make sure you allow for 30 minutes to get your items. read more

This Sonic stay away from. They rip you off by filling the cup with ice and little drink. Their hamburgers are served cold as experienced within last 10 minutes. Their sweet tea is not sweet and their peach tea is bitter and not sweet. We can compare this Sonic to the one off of 72 that we went to last weekend - in a burger mood and all. 72's location has slower service but their food and drink was on point with no complaints. I pulled up and there was a long wait, finally someone said "go ahead"... no "hello" or anything, which is odd. I asked for a medium chocolate malt. She came back and I think she said "we ain't got no malt". I didn't quite understand the mumbled response so I asked, "did I just hear you don't have any malt"..... all I heard was crickets and I gave it about 30 seconds... then I said "alrighty then, never mind" and drove off. Don't recommend this location unless you've got 45 minutes to kill. Places the order online, but when we got here the check in wouldn't work. We tried pressing the button at the stall and waited over half hour for our food. When we got it they brought the drinks and no food. When we tried the drinks it was just colored water for Dr Pepper because they were out of syrup AND carbonation. Sonic generally has pretty good food but the management here needs to be thrown out if they can't stay on top of orders. read more
