Look, I didn't drive all the way to Montrose, Colorado just for the Sonic. But I also feel like I need to tell you that this was my first ever Sonic experience and it probably had to happen on a vacation when we wanted a fast breakfast to eat in the car on the way to the national park. So that's the story, we rolled in and opted for the drive-thru instead of the drive-in, and I was introduced to the breakfast burrito, which is more of a torpedo. I also saw that croissant sandwich, which seemed acceptable. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't make too much of it. But in the time of COVID, I feel like Sonic came through. Stay in your car. Or go through the drive-thru. It's not fancy food, it's not local food, but they have the convenience piece nailed down. I gobbled up my breakfast and hit the park. My first rating was 5 stars due to a delicious smash burger. Since that review, I've been several times and the smash burgers have been extremely disappointing, no crispy edges typical of a smash burger. The last order was supposed to be a regular smash burger and a tropical heat smash burger but got two regular smash burgers. Also, their fryer was broken so no fries. Won't be going back! read more

Went to get an Oreo blizzard today. After making it 3/4 of the way through my ice cream, I pulled a solid string of something yellow out of my mouth. I stopped at Sonic today (around 2:30) for a foot long Coney dog. I took it home , I live in Ouray which is about 36 miles from the Montrose Sonic. When I open the Coney, surprise, surprise! No bun and it tasted like it was cooked for an hour! How do you send out a foot long hot dog with no bun??? Unbelievable! Check out the photo below. We used the Sonic app to order our food. Food came out and was ice cold and not correct. Took two bites of the hamburger and threw it out. The tatar tots were over-salted. I wish this location were better. I do usually enjoy Sonic. I get what it is, but when the burger is ice cold it is really bad. read more

Montrose, CO, 3:00pm, Saturday, 2/26. Worst service ever. The drive thru was wrapped around so we went to a stall. We watched every car go through, and another whole line before we got 3 drinks and three corn dogs. The server spilled a sticky drink all over me and my car. Best part ever....corn dogs were all RAW in the center, and no mustard that we asked for...or any condiments that we asked for or napkins. ZERO STARS. GROSS!! The fries were so overdone, they were super hard. Prob could've used it as a hammer. The burger meat was very over cooked. The patty was crunchy. Not the correct kind of bite with that meat. I've loved this place since I was a kid and thought I'd stop in for a burger. Looked up directions and saw the 2.5 star review and thought, "That's ridiculous. Sonjc is great!" Ha. The patty was overcooked. I could taste char. The fries were cold. The onions just tasted awful, and I always get onions! They even managed to make the water taste kind of gross. I normally like this Sonic, but today was terrible!. I ordered three meals and asked each to be in a separate bag. When it came not in separate bags I asked for a bag to separate it myself. She said... If you would have asked we would have done that. I told her I did ask. She said if you had, it would have been done. Then I checked the order. One burger I paid for extra cheese and didn't get it. One burger had about 3 pieces of lettuce. The other was fine but the Tots container was 1/2 full and broken bits. She said that was normal for Tots. (Ha, not in my experiance) I Asked them to add cheese to my burger, since I actually paid for it. They re-made it. The top bun was ice cold and they smothered it with ketchup. Gross. At least they remembered extra cheese. Then I get home and my cup has a hole in the bottom so my cup holder is full of coke. I'm from So Cal, we don't have Sonic, so I thought I'd give it try. I only ordered a Salted Carmel milkshake. Shake was decent, but I guess I'm getting old because about half way through a small shake, it got to be too sweet. The ordering concept is pretty cool, drive up or walk up to any board and press the red button. Within seconds a server arrives with your order. Pay and you're on your way. Speedy service, clean surroundings, friendly people. Not much into fast food, but they claim to have over 1million drink versions, that's kind of fun. read more

In Montrose we stopped by Sonic Burger and ordered two bacon cheeseburger meals with onion rings. One with 'extra' onions. Received one with no onions, and two tiny strips of bacon. I mean tiny! Gabby (Gabrielle) must have been having an awful day because she turned the lights off on me, then when I called just to make sure she hadn't forgotten the order I placed, she abruptly cut me off over the speaker and proceeded to very rudely tell me that she was working on it and to wait. Amazing experience, Chris took my order was very polite and had the voice of a movie actor very clear and easy to understand. I was blown away not your typical fast food joint. Chris even delivered my order in under three minutes. The sonic double burger was awesome made to perfection. This was the best experience I've had from this sonic in years. I don't know what happened in the past few months but it has completely turned around from being a hole in the wall dump to the sonic I now enjoy and will keep coming back to. read more

Ahhh the benefits of children managing children without adult supervision

It took them forever to get my order to me, they didn't mix my strawberry limeade (they just left the strawberry syrup on top), they didn't put the watermelon in it, they messed up my sisters burger three times, they messed up my nieces two drinks (they gave Sprite instead of a classic limeade and orange juice instead of water). The kid bringing the food out to us was gracious, I'm assuming it's the people who make the food that messed up. Really frustrating when I pay 10 dollars for a meal for a gross warmed up chili cheese dog (not that I expect TOO much from a fast food place but seriously?) tons of grease (too much grease, I promise) on the tater tots, there was a pool of grease at the bottom when finished. If this is the only sonic place you can get to or have been to I feel bad for you because you haven't had a proper sonic experience :( read more

Didn't have some wraps or something my wife wanted that other Sonics have, but what kind of sick person eats a wrap at Sonic? They have corndogs, so just eat a corndog instead. Anyway, the dude at this place hooked me up with a killer amount of ketchup. None of that skimpy 2 packet business. decided to stop and get chili tots and a drink today...order came out with very little chili on the tots. Asked them to come out and fix the order and was told that is the normal amount of chili that goes on a large order. I've been eating here for many years beings I'm a local and NEVER have my chili tots ever come out with sooo little chili. The lady kept telling me this was the normal amount of chili each time I asked if they were going to fix the order. Then when I said I was going to write a review and take a photo of my order then she wanted to fix the order, told her she was too late for that. WILL NOT be going back to if I have to go through this far just to have a $6 order fixed. Employee has been to my car twice to see if I cared for anything else while I'm writing this review. I've always been a fan of Sonic fast food but we were disappointed by the service we received last Thursday. Their BOGO wings promotion was not honored. We called back from our car stand and were told by attendant that he would talk to the manager. Then we sat for 20 minutes receiving no feedback. We finally had to leave to be in time for a movie.
