Turkey was really tender (I think it's brined?) 4/5, pulled pork had good flavor and was tender 4/5, ribs tender 4/5, brisket 3/5. Came with 2 sides and corn bread. Bbq sauce squeeze bottles at table and the original and spicy were both tasty 4/5. Ambiance 4/5, clean and tidy. Enjoyed some BBQ at Jimmers today for lunch. The staff there was friendly and helpful with our orders. This place has the standard BBQ meats but also some other food such as burgers and fish. We started our meal with fried okra with ranch to dip it in. It was one of the best okras I've had in a long time. Make sure to bring a few friends to help you eat it. I had the loaded baked potato. You can choose which meat is in it. I decided to have the chopped brisket. I used both the original and the hot and spicy BBQ sauce on the meal. The dish also includes a side option. OMG - random yelp find! Yessss. Perfect lunch. First off, the bad, yup starting there. Mac n Cheese. Runny, no flavor, Velvetta knock off. Really? Come on, do better. Now for the yummmmmines. Brisket - order fatty cut. Very flavorful with a great bark. Excellent. Fried Ribs tossed in their Asian sauce. Holy crap, next level. I guess the ribs are flash fried. Meat fall of the bone. I ordered the Smoked Brisket sandwich on Tuesday night the 11th. The sandwich consisted of about 3 ounces of what appeared to be diced rib meat. It had never been close to any smoke and was incredibly bland and fatty. Being a to go order I expected there to be utensils and at least one paper napkin in there there was nothing! I was very disappointed with the smoked prime rib, old baked potato and canned green beans. I was hoping for more flavorful food but I guess that was not in their agenda. I think that the prime rib was a precooked from their supplier they get food from like Sysco maybe. Burnt ends was like some precooked brisket pumped with solution and you can taste it in it. Topped with runny not house bbq sauce. I was hoping for a better experience from these guys l. Maybe next time we come in we will skip the prime and try a fat boy taco. read more

With limited options coming from watching the sunset at Black Canyon of the Gunnison this wasn't too far from there. The parking lot was pretty full so I was excited, however I was disappointed. Let's start with the burnt ends, they did not have any flavor and no smoke taste to it. They tasted as though they were boiled, then baked. No smoke bbq flavor to the them. The bratwurst was pretty dry. They're ribs were decent same as the burnt end and you can can see they did not bbq them. If it is a roafhouse/smokehouse BBQ joint you want this the place. As you approach the hostess you have a choice to make. The choice is do you sit in the PG side or the R side of the house. Based on the colorful language on the bar side I would say Jimmers is a popular place with the locals. The service was cheerful and helpful. It was a packed house and she had her hands full. My pulled pork and homemade sausage was tasty. Unfortunately it would have welcomed some heat. Kind of like an indoor picnic. But wait no meal is complete with one or all three BBQ sauces. Stopped here for a late dinner as it is next to the Days Inn (where I am staying). I get that I walked in late and about 20 minutes before closing time but it seemed to already be in shut down mode. I was told they were still serving and waited about 5 minutes while the hostess decided which messy table she wanted to clean off for me to use. She was quick to get me my iced tea and a menu. Then I waited. About 10 minutes later I asked the hostess if I could just make it to go. She said she'd have to check. While in the back the waitress finally came over and took my order. Then the hostess came out and got my order from the waitress to give to the cook. Basically I waited a really long time in a place that wasn't busy and seemed to have plenty of staff standing around but none of whom really wanted to serve me. To top it off I paid the bill before the food arrived and then a second waitress came up and asked if anyone had taken my order yet. At this point I just wanted to get my food and go. So now let's talk about the food. I ordered the pulled pork po boy sandwich. Let's say it made up for the hassle. The pork was well done topped with a good, sweet slaw on a fresh bun. I poured some of their hot and spicy sauce which I thought was really good as well. The side of potato salad tasted like it was the typical food service style. Nothing special. But as for what they prepared I thought it was very good. Since this was a business trip dinner and the boss was buying I went ahead and dared myself to try the Rocky Mountain Oysters. Heavily breaded but still couldn't cover the thought of it. I ate one, checked it off my bucket list and moved on with the meal. Came here about a year ago one night. Ordered a new york strip. Was not impressed. Pretty fatty and not really tasty. Went back a couple months ago with a large group and what an improvement. Food and service were great. Waiter was friendly and happy. He explained the issue with my bad experience. Apparently the owners had some others managing the place and they simply were not in it to provide the best quality. Well I'm happy to say they are back in the saddle again read more

Disappoointing. The service was quirky and not great. Seemed a lot of people working there, but didn't really know how to work there... it was really strange. The server raved about the bbq being smoked in house and even though the smoker was cold out front, we took a chance on that. The ribs were not cooked to the point of falling off the bone. They had okay flavor, but were cooked at a high heat, making them tough (think jerkey). The brisket was good. No complaints there. The Rib Tips were cooked well, bu covered in a LOT of super sugary bbq sauce. The Pulled Pork didn't have much flavor to it. Tasted like a crockpot pork vs a smoked one. Overall... this place is meh. I've gotten taken out food a couple a couple times. They run out of potatoes often. One has to question how you run out of a staple item regularly? Tonight we stopped in looking for Ketel One & the Notre Dame game and found neither. Instead we got sass from the 12 year old bar tender who shook his head and said "wow" and laughed and talked shit when we politely asked if they served Ketel and chose to leave when they didn't. We didn't comment on their poor choice in beverage choices or lack of customer service. We simply left. And we won't back. We were visiting Montrose with a large group. Ordered several family menu items for takeout. It came in a large box. It was not until we got back to our family gathering that we found there were no plastic ware, plates, or napkins. I guess the fault lies with us for not asking. Not really sure how the food was having to eat barbarian style. The ribs were smoked well but a little grim since the membrane had not been removed from them before they went into the smoker. Great experience except for the bartender. She was a little unorthodox. Had home made chicken noodle soup - YUM. Had pulled pork, briskit, baked beans, and cole slaw. The reviews for this place are stellar, so today must have been an "off" day for them. I've been to Jimmers 3 times since moving here recently. The first time we had a great server. She was friendly, up-beat, and on top of her work. The pulled pork sandwich was good, and the coleslaw was good; pretty basic, but totally fine. The second time, we had a different server who was extremely slow and not afraid to share with us she was ready for her shift to be over. It was lunch time. It took a long time to get service and to get our food. The brisket was okay, not great. The potato salad and the beans were bland. I popped in for lunch & a beer today, and asked if I could sit at the bar. The very unfriendly hostess said yes and told me she would be over with a menu. I sat there for about 5 minutes (the only one at the bar), lots of girls working there talking in front of me, nobody greeted me or offered me a drink. No one even looked at me. Eventually, the hostess came to seat 3 fellows at the bar, offered them menus and took drink orders for them. I made eye contact with her so she knew I was still waiting for a menu and she unapologetically brought me one in a rush, but didn't take a drink order for me, like she did for the 3 guys. Even after bringing them their drinks, nothing. I waited about 10 minutes and just got up and left. I don't know... maybe this was the "B" team. I would have been understanding and patient if the reason were simply that they were busy, but you can still touch based with a customer and let him/her know you'll be right back. Takes 2 seconds. In the barbeque platter, the brisket was not the worst I've had, but was near the bottom. The turkey was very dry and not flavorful. The pulled pork was marginally moist, but was lacking in flavor. Good food, good service. The menu was varied with steaks and BBQ. My husband had the burnt ends that were very good. I had smoked turkey. I love that turkey is an option for a leaner option. There were loads of side options. We had cucumber salad, baked beans (not spicy like some places) cole slaw (a bit too much sauce) and Mac & cheese (very worth the extra price).
