During our roadtrip back home, I decided to stop at Sonic since the one closest to home is awful. I made a mobile order. The staff were very friendly and quick, this was their saving grace from making it even less stars. Our order was almost completely wrong...incorrect drink, two missing items, and missing sauce. There were also no napkins and I ordered the chili cheese dog. Thankfully we had extra in the car. I just don't know how a mobile order can be so screwed up and it's frustrating because I can't find a decent Sonic anywhere now. However, I will say that the food was fresh and hot, delicious, and the employees are indeed very kind and were apologetic over the mess. read more

I wasn't even the one ordering, I was sitting in the very back of the car because we went on a family road trip and I still was a victim of this sonics staff members. I heard them being rude to the one ordering and when the staff got to the window to give us our food they gave even more attitude. I don't like discriminating but this young lady looked like she had a lot of other problems going on and it looked like she ate her feelings through those problems. My strawberry milkshake literally looked like SOMEONE PUT THEIR FINGER IN IT!!! And when we said something about it she said "that's how it comes" with attitude. Excuse me ma'am but i wasn't born yesterday! I know what putting your finger in someones drink looks like. I WASN'T EVEN INVOLVED IN THE ORDERING OR TRANSACTION yet I got the short end of the stick. Consistently...consistently, so very painstakingly SLOW. You guys, really - something needs to be done. There can literally be one or two cars in front of you and you'll sit parked in the drive thru line for 15/20 minutes. It's insanity. It doesn't matter the time of day, or which day of the week. From early morning hours until late evening and everything in between. The waitresses are usually pretty friendly, and the orders are usually accurate. You gotta get these systems updated. The "drive-thru" literally means you pull up along the walk-way, wait for them to walk out your food, and then if you use a card they have to walk back in to run it and then return with your receipt and card. It's just redundant and a waste of everyone's time really. If you're on a timeline of any sort, don't stop here ya'll. I'm so serious. Your service would be faster at Longhorn. read more

Really used to love the Sonic in Morganton, my wife and I order the same thing every time we go. She gets the regular size chili dog French fries and a Dr Pepper. I get the footlong, tots and a diet Dr Pepper. The last two times we have been there the food has been cold. It's pretty sad because it isn't that hard to serve hot food, even warm food would be better than what we have been getting. Oh well. read more

Is it possible to give negative stars? We have been waiting in the drive thru for about twenty minutes. Stopped off on our way out of state, sincerely regretting it. Cars behind us were served first. So I should have known better... than to order a Wildberry and Lavender shake at Sonic. I figured, hey, if they were ballsy enough to make such a product, I'll be ballsy enough to try it. It basically tasted like vanilla (really bad, foamy overly aerated vanilla) - there were no purple swirls with lumps of fruit like the picture - not a hint of lavender or fruit. Came in for a treat on this hot day and ordered a cookie dough blast with no whipped cream. I can't have whipped cream because I have an aversion to certain textures. When they bring it I nicely said I asked for no whipped cream. The girl jerked it out of my husband's hand and came back with a cup with a lid. Really slow service. Pulled off the highway to grab some lunch. Seems it's not first come first served since cars that arrived after us were served before us. Not fast food. My husband had to ask for napkins since we weren't given any. The staff is awful, and the girl he asked acted like we were wasting her time. We had to wait 20 minutes for our food. The fries were cold and so were the burgers. I took two bites of my burger and had to throw it away. They melted the cheese on my burger but when I got it the cheese was hard. Worst food I have ever had. read more

Until recently, Sonic was one of my favorite fast food restaurants in Morganton. Tonight for supper we decided to drive thru. We had a large order and I was in need of a Tropical Smoothie,lol, My fav drink from Sonic. Well the food was not very good, they no longer serve Tropical Smoothies, in fact no smoothies at all anymore;( and it was pricier than in the past. Sad to say but will not be eating there anymore.
