After a spicier than expected dinner, we were in the mood for ice cream. The review for Austin…read moreStreet Creamery on a site run by a large search engine said, "The salted caramel crunch was the best ice cream I've ever had in my life." Since we're both salted caramel fans, we were sold. Careful when you're looking for it (and you should), since it's got a small sign and the window is on the side of the building. (See pics) We can fully endorse the review that brought us; the salted caramel crunch was absolutely amazing. Steve uses top shelf ingredients and makes his own caramel. The ice cream is smooth and delicious. It's creamy (but not the gooey, mouth coating stuff made by a mega corporation pretending to be Scandanvian). There are chocolate chunks, about 1/8" thick, probably made from the quality chocolate that they use for other flavors. It's like home made if the person at home was an expert chef. I can't wait to go back.

I tried the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Birthday Cake flavors, which both tasted great. The birthday cake ice cream tasted slightly artificial, but the sprinkles added a fun crunch. The chocolate chip cookie dough tasted like real cookie dough and had small bites of their homemade cookies mixed throughout, though I do wish the chunks were bigger. Both flavors were creamy, not icy, and not overly sweet. Overall, it's a delightful stop downtown with easy, quick service and a lovely courtyard to enjoy your scoops. I'd happily come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Fredericksburg.

Is the ice cream good? Absolutely. Every scoop delivered. We went with the Espresso Bean Latte and…read moreMadagascar Vanilla...both smooth, flavorful, and exactly what you'd hope for on a hot day. With a wide variety of options, there's no shortage of flavors to suit just about anyone. At 91 degrees in San Angelo, it hit the spot perfectly. The shop itself has a cute, inviting ambience that adds to the experience. That said, the service left a lot to be desired. It felt rushed and impersonal...no warmth, no smiles, just a "get you through the line" kind of interaction. Not quite the friendly small-town vibe you might expect. Unfortunately, that lack of hospitality overshadows the positives, and it's enough to make us think twice about coming back, which is a real shame.

The staff of girls welcomed us as soon as we walked in and were helpful with recommendations. The shop was clean and inviting with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a bit on the expensive side as we were warned so be prepared to spend a little. Our 2 cups with 3 scoops was just over $17.00. We weren't sure about the sizes since we've never been here before. Next time I will go for a cone with 1 or maybe 2 scoops. It looks as if everything is made fresh daily on site (I'm not 100% sure I'm correct on that). I debated on 4 or 5 stars and decided strictly on price deducting 1 star. Still not sure it's the right decision but hey, it's March 2026 and everything seems a little expensive, right? We will be back to support our neighborhood business.
