I've been to this Sonic location a handful of times, and I've had great service and food every time. My family and I stopped by on July 4th for a quick lunch. Our order was prompt, accurate, and brought to us with a friendly smile (plus the young lady was decent enough to wear a face mask). The place was absolutely packed out and our food came out quicker than I anticipated and fresh. Can't expect better service than what we received. Horrible customer service/ drive thru etiquette. We waited in the drive thru about 5 mins before someone spoke, repeatedly said hello. When the young lady finally acknowledged us, she asked why were we at the drive thru. As if she was irritated we didn't come in or go to the drive/park spots. The young lady who took our order was smacking and chew into the mic. We got 1 Oreo blast & 1 peach mango slush. When we got to the window we visibly saw the round lady eating chicken tenders. Sunday, March 22, 2026, I went to Sonic in Simpsonville, sc with my daughter and 2 granddaughters. Yummm, Sonic is probably my favorite hamburger joint, love those cokes. My dreams were crushed, I mean they took them and stomped, tromped and did a jig on them. It wasn't real busy there were maybe 6 cars in stalls, no one at the table, and 2 in the drive thru. We ordered at 1:15 pm, at 1:30 we had no food and my granddaughters, being the hangry monsters, went to the window and told them our screen on stall 10 was not working and wanted to make sure they got our order. They told them our order would be out in a minute and they would take payment when they brought it. Okay, now I'm getting angry and ready to leave; however, my daughter refused to leave saying there would be wait times anywhere. Man, she's a stubborn one, don't know where she got it from. 1:45 rolls around and still no food so my daughter pressed the button and tells them our screen on stall 10 is not working and we couldn't pay so she wanted to make sure it didn't mess our order up. They repeated the same thing they told my granddaughter. It was hot, we were hungry, my son was waiting on my daughter to get home so he could help hook a washing machine and dryer up, and by now pretty aggravated. We watched cars leave the drive thru within 5-10 minutes of ordering, cars leave that came after us, there were at least 3 people that we saw delivering orders, one of which wanted to stay and visit when delivering the order. 1:55 and a young boy comes to the car and asked what our order was, said he would check to make sure they had it. Oh, no, no, no, no, enough is enough and I was furious. My daughter was being nice and was going to recite the order to him. I took the reins and told him to keep it, we no longer needed it and told her we were not waiting another 45 minutes to get our order. Ridiculous, outrageous, they worked faster when there was only one person working (immediately following covid), and had I been driving we would have left a lot earlier. My son was calling because he couldn't get into the house and was waiting on us, he had things to do. If I wanted to wait that long I would've cooked at home. BEWARE no one is smarter than a 5th grader here. Sonic usually is ok. But NOT today!! I pulled up and was looking at the menu to decide what I wanted. I was about to hit the red order button when this weird child/man came to the front of my car. He asked me if I had ordered and I said no, I asked if he was going to take my order and he said no, he wondered why I was sitting there and they didn't want to waste my time?! I was like. Huh? I was just looking at the menu before placing my order geeze if that a crime? (It was 1:00 pm...lunchtime) Anyway, I hit the red button and HE was the one taking the order. No lie I had to repeat the order 3 separate times SLOWLY. Hamburger, (NOT cheeseburger) with mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, med pickle fries and med Lemon slush. Went to the Sonic in Simpsonville SC for dinner (5:30PM). ONLY a couple of cars there. Pressed the red button to place an order. 10 minutes later they responded. When asked why it took so long, I was told they wait on the drive thru before waiting on the customers in the drive up stalls. Then while trying to place our order, was informed they hard no sodas or ice cream. I now realize why there was l lack of customers at the prime dinner time. Used to be a good place for a meal. We ordered 2 milkshakes. Sat and waiting for over 30 minutes while other customers who arrived after us were receiving milkshakes and food. Meanwhile 3 of their employees ran out of the kitchen to go play on the playground for a solid 20 minutes. We pressed the button again to get a worker on the line and they had either lost or forgotten our order. HORRIBLE customer service. After an hour of waiting they came out with our milkshakes and 4 random drinks. But the worker dropped the tray spilling 1 of the milkshakes and had to remake it. Service is fine.Burgers are WAYYY to loaded with sauce. Like a disgusting amount. Not even kidding it looked like someone dumped a whole bottle of sauce on the burger. I will say it depends on the staff is working... They recently fired all the good staff and implemented new staff. The food used to be fine but now the new workers have no idea what theyre doing. I've only been to this location for drinks - definitely stop by for a Route 44-sized frozen strawberry limeade, or a raspberry sweet tea, an ocean water, or hundreds of other delicious things. I'm not a fan of the food but they do have good mozzarella sticks and tater tots. This location has both the drive-up spaces and the drive-thru. It's sort of hidden off the side of the road so it's easy to miss, but it's perfect for a hot day when you just want a huge, cold, delicious drink! read more

This is by far the very worst Sonic in this area. They are unbelievably slow. Today when I finally got to the window, two of the teenage employees were throwing ice at each other and another was bopping them on the head with a stack of cups. There was not an adult in sight and cars around the building. This Sonic is awesome. My best friend and I have this ritual that we go get an ice cream cone after working out at Planet Fitness (I know, probably negates the whole working out but still). Anyways, their ice cream cones are tall, fresh, beautifully made and the people in the drive thru are always so fast and friendly!!
