This has been one of my favorite meals in Greenville. As an occasional customer of the Mellow Mushroom in Athens Georgia, this location blew me away. The service was overwhelmingly positive. While slow, the staff was proactive and very efficient. The environment inside and the surrounding area are wonderful as well. There were 5 people in our party. We arrived at 5:30. There were maybe 10 people in the restaurant. Fawn was our server. She was working hard but our meal took two hours all in. She did warn us about the long wait. We ordered pizzas, a calzone and wings. Everything was good but the wings were small and only okay. Dirty dishes remained on a table the entire time. Went to mellow mushroom on 7/12/25. Place was an organizational mess. The person who was presumably the host left their station with 3 or 4 parties in line just wandering around the restaurant in a daze. Servers and kitchen staff screaming at one another. Terrible service. Sat at the bar for 20 minutes and no one said a word to me even though there was a bartender behind the bar and I heard her say she's not taking any more customers. So I end up leaving and decided to just place a Togo order they told me 20 Minutes so I come back to pick up my order the order is not ready yet, and I'm having to sit and wait 30 more minutes for my food. I've always gotten a small pizza and it is pretty good the times I have gone - but they have lacked on the toppings. I've been here for lunch and we always get to go. Most times it has taken a while to get our food but we understand if there is a shortage of staff. They have changed their lunch specials and increased pricing and taken off the small pizza special which is a shame but I'd say it's still a decent price for Downtown. read more

I normally would not leave a bad review because who has the time but after my 4th or 5th disappointing experience with Mellow Greenville I had to write online (and you're a chain so you can handle a bad review or two). I stupidly ordered takeout here yet again after having well over 3 already incorrect orders previously. First, not sure anyone in this establishment knows what a side of ranch means because every time I've ordered it (and paid extra) ranch has been put ON the Greek salad and I've been given a side of the Greek dressing... I even tried to call and get ahead of this after the same mistake had been made twice before, and it came wrong again on my 3rd attempt. Called back after and spoke kindly to the manager to let them know this was a reoccurring issue and did not feel the need to write online about those experiences. That leads me to the final straw - they've either made a change in the cheese, don't know how to portion control it, or have untrained and inconsistent kitchen staff. Last week I ordered 2 pizzas spending a total of $70 and they were legitimately both inedible, we tried to eat two slices of each and couldn't even get them down. As a non-picky pizza-loving person this is saying A LOT. The mushroom pizza came with the wrong toppings and the pepperoni pizza was so absolutely disgusting that we threw out BOTH pizzas because they were covered in so much of this rubber cheese. I wish the staff here all the best however the quality of the Greenville restaurant is not on par with the reputation created by the Charleston and Columbia locations. read more

We just moved here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and we were told by many people this is the place to check out! We tried this at fall for Greenville and it was great! We went here for date night tonight and it was such a cooooool place!!! Our waitress was great, food was bomb, the aesthetic soooooo fricken cool! It was a very nice date night and we left fuuuull! We are so coming back with my hippie ass family when they come to visit, we are pizza people!! Only things I will say that I didn't care for was that I didn't like how the chunks of pineapple were big and there wasn't a lot of bacon and they were huge peices. I had the most delicious sandwich here, the California Club. If you love avocado, this is the one! Chopped chicken and bacon on a soft roll with overflowing smashed avocado, along with salty tater tots made for a delicious lunch. My food sensitive table mates were able to order gluten-free crust and dairy free cheese (what is that, anyway?) on their small pizzas, which were a generous size for one person. Our server was sensitive to their needs and was very kind. Atmosphere is colorful and fun! Easy parking in the back lot. read more

We are in Greenville visiting our daughter and are here for 5 days. So far we have had this pizza place twice ! So delicious. The crust was the perfect thickness and had the perfect amount of seasoning on it. My husband usually leaves his crust but not at this place. The cheesy bread could have used a little more garlic seasoning but it was still so good. Service was great too. read more

I came to mellow last week and the waitress was wonderful. she was brand new and had red hair and was vey accommodatibg. the manager was supposed to come and talk to us but she didnt show up for 20 minutes after our waitress told us she would come over. she smelled like weed and when we asked our waitress about the issue she said that she was pregnant and buying weed from the kitchen staff. we have callled 2 times trying to talk to the owner because we do not accept this behavior. we called to request our server again because she was a delight and weee informed she was let go after her first shift. we are reaching out to inform of the bad management and inform the owner of the poor lack of management. we will be letting all of our friends know that are locals and regulars. am at that reccomended mellow. read more

Unfortunately the worst Mellow Mushroom experience we have ever had. The one in Clemson is run much smoother and customer service is taken more seriously. My family of 4 (2 adults 2 children) came around quarter til 6pm on a non busy Monday night. We only krdered 1 large puzza to share and drinks. Around 6:40 my children were past the point of hangry and I was ready to see what was going on. We are (obviously) pretty patient people normally, but this was ridiculous. The FOH manager came to the table and I explained we had been waiting over an hour amd asked what coudl be done to handle the situation and she simply responded "oh, I'm sorry, let me go check on it for you right now!" She comes back and says it will be out in about 5 minutes! No offers of appetizer while we continue waiting or anything. Okay. 15 minutes go by and I told our server what happened and she was embarrassed and offered to get the "real manager" as she stated. A 15 year old boy came to the table (he was not 15, but seriously young) and I explained again nicely what was going on, again mentioning the other table across from us who also had a famy of 4 with small children waiting for over an hour. Hos response was about the same...dismissive, making excuses about having a lot of to go orders, and said he'd check on it again. He came back and said it's in the oven right now so like 10 more minutes. No apologies, no offers for making it right, nothing. Okay. The pizza finally comes and we enjoyed it, no complaints on taste, but we will not be returning to that location. We had plans to walk around downtown Greenville and enjoy icecream afterwards but we were all so frustrated and tired at that point and it was almost 8pm by then so we just returned home. read more

On the yelp app, you get a free order of pretzel bites, with the beer cheese dip. These were tasty and so was the dip. For our pizza orders we ordered a large Funky Q, a small House Special and a small pepperoni pizza for my great niece. The Funky Q is a barbecue chicken pizza with bacon and red onions. It was good, the barbecue wasn't as sweet as other pizzas similar to this one. The House Special was sausage, ham, ground beef, bacon, black olives, green peppers and Roma tomatoes. I left the onions and mushrooms off. Both pizzas were good, my next dining experience at Mellow Mushroom, I'll try a thin crust pizza. read more

I am obsessed with the pizza from Mellow Mushroom! I first had it in New Orleans a few years ago, and was surprised/delighted to find out that it's a chain restaurant (though it's not a very large one, and it doesn't have the lack of personality or quality that most chains do). I stumbled across this location when a friend and I were exploring Greenville for a day. It's at the end of town, nearby the main tourist area of Falls Park. There was construction going on when we were there, but don't worry they are still open!! You can get a free order of pretzel bites with a check in. They were soooo good! Fresh, warm and perfect with dipping sauce. The pizza too was amazing as always! My favorite thing about it is the crust. Perfectly crisp on the outside, doughy in the middle, and buttery/garlicky delicious! One of my favorites! read more
