I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, and hubby ordered the Lettuce Wraps. I felt the Shepherd's Pie was not as good as it has been in the past. Took a while for someone to help me with my pickup order. It was ready when I walked in, I just needed someone to give it to me. Brown butter was great, sourdough was hard as a rock.. Kids Alfredo made my stomach hurt all day so will not be ordering it. Used my free birthday reward to get the banana cheesecake and that was pretty good. I'm interested in trying more menu items and it's so expensive! I just can't support that considering this isn't even fine dining. It's a restaurant in a mall, prices need to reflect that. Absolutely awful experience, I already left a review on google. Not only were we some of the last people to get our food after people beside us got there an HOUR after going in. Our main course had hair in it, the waitress was absolutely horrible at her job. I will never ever go back, the only redeeming quality was the manager who was nice enough to comp our entire meal. From visiting 6 different countries (island side of all of them) and trying my favorite food (Ceviche) in each of them. I can say with honesty this was top TWO best Ceviches I've ever had! Stellar experience at The Cheesecake Factory! A little backstory: my husband and I haven't eaten at TCF in almost 10 years. Probably because we went often enough in Florida to scratch the itch. So, the novelty had worn off and there were other places to discover in GVL and burbs. My dad chose this restaurant to belatedly celebrate his birthday with our family. Gotta be honest, I was a little nervous due to the reviews. We came on a Tuesday around 3:30 pm and it wasn't busy at all; we were seated at a booth right away. Our server was a nice, young lady, who was very personable and patient with our party. I wish I remembered her name to give credit due to whom it belongs. She definitely made our dining experience very pleasant. Ordered were Kids Salmon Meal, Kids Fried Chicken Tenders, Turkey Burger with a side salad, Chicken Parmesan Sandwich, Carne Asada Meal, and I had the Smokehouse BBQ burger sans bacon. All items were cooked to satisfaction. For dessert we shared NOT cheesecake (*gasp*, I know), but the Godiva Chocolate Brownie Sundae, which is my husband's and I favorite dessert from them (this time we had to share with our 3 kiddos, so only got a few bites in between us). Honestly though, it's a better value to get this dessert (I think it is the most expensive dessert item on the menu) than getting even two cheesecake slices (yes, they are delicious and have their place in our bellies) at their prices. Pros: Nice service from Max; sitting on patio; tasty sangria and a mimosa-like cocktail (but pricey) Cons: Looong wait for the food; pricey drinks yet no prices on the menu to see that ahead of time; chicken and vegetable soup that was 95% broth with only a few diced onions to count as the vegetables; strange Jicama "Tortilla" Shells on the avocado tacos (super soft and hard to eat) The drinks, warm breadbasket and outside seating helped me rate this a 3. Been wanting to visit ever since it opened in Greenville and had a chance when taking a friend out for an early dinner before a concert this past Saturday. We planned to meet at 3:45 pm. The parking lot near the mall entrance and The Cheesecake Factory was crazy busy and I wondered whether folks were eating or shopping as it was only mid-April. Good thing I arrived early and after circling several times and feeling as if I was hunting for a space, found a group walking to their car. Mental note: never wait for a group, especially young folks, as they will get into their car and start gabbing or playing on their phones. Although some of the other spots opened up and were pounced upon quickly by other drivers circling, I did finally get this spot. The restaurant was pretty busy even at this odd time of day. Loud from conversations and sounds of silverware against dishes. I provided my name and cell number to receive a text when I would be seated in approximately 20 mins, perfect for our planned meet up time. I sat near the door where others were waiting, and how ideal as, as soon as my friend arrived, I received a text that a table was available. I originally was thinking of having a salad since I recalled the last time I was at The Cheesecake Factory (TCF), it was up north for business and was yummy! However, reading some of the reviews made me concerned about spending that amount of money on salad and it wasn't even organic, plus I needed to have more protein for an upcoming treatment. Diana was our server and she was fantastic. She took our orders and had apologized that she couldn't bring any bread rolls yet as they were being made. But wow, when they came out, fresh and delicious. But our meals came out soon thereafter. I ordered the mushroom burger, medium and the side salad. She had ordered the veggie burger with fries. My taste buds are off so though it was good and I ate the entire burger, I needed something else to add more flavor to aliven the tongue. Maybe sauerkraut or something tart or vinegar based or spicy. So strange. The side salad was actually quite tasty, I even had dunked part of the bread roll into the salad dressing. Diana checked up on us often and filled our glass without any prompting. She had even mentioned that the next shift (evening true dinner time) was coming and the server who we would finish with is wonderful. She mentioned his name a few times (and I still forgot it - Ray? Roy? Even when I asked if she would prefer we close out the bill now so that the tip can go to her, she said no need to as it's all good. She even brought him over and introduced him. And he was good! Though I had asked to keep the menu to look at the desserts as I've always wanted to get a cheesecake from there, I had already stuffed myself to finish the large burger. I did manage to convince my friend to order one to go since I knew she had a cooler in her car from doing some grocery "shopping" at the open farm tour that morning. She ordered the lemon meringue cheesecake (see pix). Our waiter did say that many people come in to order and eat only a cheesecake and coffee. Something that I certainly have to do in the future. Overall, great experience as the service was . . Friendly, efficient and effective, we weren't rushed which meant we got to catch up on our lives. The food was good. The table itself was sticky covered with cake and melted wax. The menus were sticky, the floor was filthy. Sadly, the whole restaurant had a grimy smell like old dishwater. What a fun place! We visited this really cool restaurant after my son's ring ceremony. The menu is unbelievably extensive. If you can't find something to eat here then some something is wrong with you. We started with the warm crab dip (excellent) and the spinach and artichoke dip (also excellent) for our appetizer. I got the Montecristo sandwich which is on the brunch menu for Saturday and Sunday. It was probably one of the best dishes I have eaten in a very long time! When you spend $75 for two people and the best part of the meal is the bread and water, something is wrong. First off, there was zero wait which was great. We then sat and it took a bit long to be waited on. Asked for two waters and a mojito. The coconut mojito was suggested. I don't suggest it. There must be some artificial sweetener or stevia or something along those lines. Yuck. The waitress never brought the bread to the table. I checked with Grok to confirm they still do that free bread thing. We had pot stickers for the app. The soy sauce had more flavor than the pot stickers. The runner that brought the pot stickers was kind enough to get us some bread when we asked for some. We had the street tacos. My wife had the shrimp and I had the chicken. Other tables that sat after us were brought bread immediately and their meals soon followed. We sat and waited. Sure enough when my food came out it was cold. We told all of this to the waitress from the bad tasting mojito to the cold tacos. She apologized for the drink. Had I realized it was almost $18 for the drink I think I would have asked them to make a regular one. She asked if I wanted my tacos reheated. I said no. You know and I know you don't send food back to the kitchen. You just don't. I barely ate anything except for the bread. Thank goodness was for free refills on the bread. No offer to remove anything off the bill. No offer of a free piece of cheesecake. Strange. I can guarantee you that the next time I am at the Haywood Mall, instead of the Cheesecake Factory I'll be at Texas de Brazil. I came here for lunch mainly because I found a gift card I had and wanted to use it. They weren't busy but we did come right when they opened. We got sat right away. Our server was very sweet and friendly. We started off with the eggroll sampler. It was super tasty and the sauces that came with it paired well with the egg rolls. We also got fresh bread. Really soft and warm. I got the Louisiana chicken pasta and my husband got the factory burrito. The pasta was good with a generous portion but it was super oily and the sauce was very thin and not as creamy as it has been in the past at different locations. My husband's burrito was huge. I didn't try it but it looked tasty. I got the red velvet cheesecake to go. It was delicious! Pretty good experience but this restaurant is pretty overrated but I do recommend everyone trying it at least one time in their life. read more

When I tried to make management aware she got smart mouth instead of listening to our concerns. She said DHEC doesn't require them to wear gloves! And some people don't see it like that. Bus boy cleaned tables & place silver on open tables UNCOVERED/ BARE not WRAPPED & on tables without tablecloth! He never sanitized his hands after wiping off the tables once he cleaned. We watched this & it made me sick to my stomach. We asked for disposable utensils and even they were brought out uncovered, unwrapped, and the server hands without anything covering/protecting it. SMH. Which makes me wonder if they even wear gloves while preparing the food since the heck doesn't require them to do. Even if DHEC doesn't require them to, they should want to have provided clean service & environment to ensure things aren't cross contaminated.
