Honestly, go to McDonalds, at least you can prepare for the suck beforehand. (Crappy drive thru food, but at least it costs more).

We went on our lunch break one day and I'm so glad I decided to go with her since I'd never been because there is so much cool stuff here! The selection of shirts here with everything from a simple Oklahoma logo to a funny saying about being an Okie or a Tulsan is quite impressive. As a typical souvenir shop, the knick knacks here range from keychains to cups to household items to local products like honey and such. I really enjoyed the selection of locally made items and the variety of colors all over the store. They sell beverages, candies, and other tasty looking items. There were several baby things so if you needed a baby shower gift or gift for a kid this would be a great place to check out. My family and friends that are from Tulsa and Oklahoma are pretty proud to be from here so realistically this is a great place for gifts in general. Would be a fun place to bring a kid too because of all the fun little candies and knick knacks. I have to say I knew they sold shirts here because I've seen people around Tulsa wearing shirts with the Ida Red logo on the back, but I had no idea what to expect when I showed up. The selection and variety did not disappoint! I will be back here for sure for gifts for others (and myself--treat yo self)!

To that end, The Wife suggested we try Ida Red's, since what she knew about the place sorta jived with the vibe I was looking for. We made the trip in and man oh man, is there a lot to choose from. From cool to kitsch, from funny to puzzling, Ida Red's has it all. I will confess to Ida's not being the kind of place I would envision myself shopping at, but that's because I'm old, stodgy and a general curmudgeon. So I was pleasantly surprised and amused with Ida's. Overall, a really neat place with TONS of local craft merchandise. Now that I have a better idea of their offerings, I can plan a trip back, knowing what I'm looking for.

There is something for everyone from hard-to-find vintage candies to foreign specialties. One of my favorite things about Lolli is that they hand-make fresh cotton candy and CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES in the store!!! So yummy! The staff is so friendly and educated on the many different types of candies- they will even give a tour to first time guests through the three different rooms (chocolate, Wonka, and gummy room). They always have a smile on their face! Everytime I walk in they are ready to point me in the directions of my favorites and invite me to try something new!! The first things you see when you walk in are the giant golden gummy bear in the back of the store and the adorable "Harry Potter" style apothacary table that is always overflowing with goodies! Something special and unique about Lolli and Pops is that they will do custom candy buffets for your event may it be weddings, birthdays, business functions, you name it! I highly recommend this gem of a candy store! I just enjoy the whole experience of an "old British" style candy store with great swingin' music! They all had A LOT of the flavor on them, so if you're looking for a lighter tasting popcorn, this is not your place lol. I've never seen so many crazy flavors of popcorn like banana and mac and cheese! The shop was bright, colorful, super cute, and clean. For a mini, 2 smalls, and 1 regular, we paid $38 after tax, which I felt like was a very reasonable price for the size vs quality. I believe it was the owner who helped us at the register and he was really nice. Someone asked him if the Christmas event brought extra business to the shop and he lit up and said something like "it has been outstanding," looking so genuinely happy for every customer waking in the door, which I thought was really cool to see. Wish we didn't live in CA and could come back more often to try more!

Normally, when you get roasted pecans, they aren't that way. The popcorn looked good, I didn't personally get any, but my cousin did. They seemed a bit overpriced. A small bag of popcorn was almost $8.00. It was a cute store and a great location. The employees were nice. I would go back again if I was walking down the street shopping there. I would probably get something different, but I would try it again. They had a lot of different kinds of candy and sodas. It's a fun little store.

Visiting Pinkitzel, I was so excited to see that they have cupcakes. I wanted a sweet treat that was just enough without overdoing it. When I walked into the very cute, we'll decorated and nicely organized shop, I was greeted by the cashier. As you walk in to your left is a cotton candy shelf, straight ahead is the cashier, macaroons, cupcakes, specialty chocolatea, ice cream and, to the right is all kind of bulk candy, modern and old fashioned candies. After walking around the shop that was nicely decorated, smelled good, and had a cute seating area in a bay window that looked out to the restaurants and other shops in the downtown Tulsa. I chose the cookies n'cream cupcake. So cute. The cupcake was moist and soft and had good flavor throughout the cupcake. The topping wasn't overbearing with being too much or too sweet. I've taken several photos of the shop and what it offers. After eating my cupcake, I went to look for goodies for my little one. When I went to pay, I was surprised to see how much I paid for two small items. To me, it was costly. Especially for one of them. I t was alright as they were gifts. I'd say when you come to Tulsa, plan out your budget. Overall, the shop was worth the visit for the experience and yummy treats. Happy Yelping!

Everything about this cute ice cream shop feels like the kind of place every small town... main street should have. Buzzing with families, friends and couples on a sweet date. The outside seating puts you right on main street which is fun to watch the downtown energy, making it a fun stop for people-watching, summer evenings, and casual family hangouts. The ice cream is creamy, rich, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Regular scoop is $5.00 which is the avg. price of competitors. Whether you go for a classic scoop or one of their colorful shaved ice desserts, everything tastes made for hot days and happy moods. This ice cream shop delivers old-fashioned feels. Sweet Shack Creamery isn't trying to be overly fancy -- it's trying to be fun, and nostalgic, which I love so much. I wish more ice cream shops were like this! When I entered, I was greeted by the smell of ice cream, the view of vibrant pink and blue colors of the store, and what looked like massive sprinkles on the wall. There were a few people in front of me in line, but it moved quickly and there was minimal time waiting. After sampling several different flavors, I settled on Bake Shoppe. This is a cookie dough ice cream with large chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and brownie bites scattered throughout the creamy ice cream. Pricing was about $5 for a single scoop, which is in line with similar stores. There was plenty of seating throughout the store, and each room contained a different theme. These themes included a game room and a music room. There is also plenty of outdoor seating as well. Despite there being quite a few people savoring the beautiful summer evening on the front patio, I found an open seat and watched the traffic of downtown Jenks roll by the shop as I enjoyed my ice cream.
