Another restaurant's cheeseburger on my top ten list, just got bumped. There was no doubting that my wife would go for the Indian Taco. She found it on the menu as we were driving over. A large freshly made, golden brown Indian fry bread, covered with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato and onions, with black olives, salsa and sour cream on the side. Look at that stacked up plate in the picture. It was delicious, as was my perfect cheeseburger with a side of crispy seasoned curly fries. Great friendly service from Scotty B's daughter who was working the restaurant today. Scotty B's is a great destination for Bikers, Car Clubs or anyone looking for a family friendly environment with excellent food. It has a big dining room with tables set up to handle a group. There is so much good food on Route 66 in Oklahoma, that you will need to allow for a week of travel time, to eat your way across the state. Route 66 Travelers, Eat Here! #700

Stocked with everything you would expect: sweet, savory salty snacks, soda, beer, fryer food, and a few Route 66 trinkets. Get there early in the day for their best and most famous offering, Arbuckle Fried Pies. Yes, those world famous crusty folded and fried pockets of fruit filled heaven. On an unwavering mission, we rounded the corner east bound on Route 66 late in the afternoon. Our destination in sight, the Old Magnolia Garage. In I go, straight to the big fried pie display case. I really wasn't expecting to find anything left at this time of the day, but there they were, two blackberry pies. Somehow, they survived the morning feeding frenzy. They were immediately adopted, along with a strawberry. Tomorrow's breakfast delight. Nope, not as good as if I had been there when they came from the fryer, but good just the same with a fresh cup of coffee the next morning. Get there early!

Worth the wait to get their Burnt Ends, Pork Ribs, and Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans!!…read more Butcher BBQ Stand has limited hours (only open Fri/Sat/Sun till 3pm or until sell out!) and when it's open, there is a line of people that want to get food! I ventured out here from Oklahoma City after a couple people recommended me to try this establishment, and I am glad I did! I arrived here at about 10:15am on a Saturday and after it opened at 11am, I was able to order by around 11:45am. While waiting, I enjoyed looking at the interior and was excited for the food! Upon ordering, the person at the desk mentioned to try the pork ribs, and I am glad I did! I had a hefty lunch that included getting Burnt Ends, Pork Ribs, Brisket, Mac & Cheese, and Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans! The main highlights are below: Burnt Ends - Oh boy this had a lot of flavor and was very moist! This was definitely a delight to have. Pork Ribs - The staff was correct in ensuring I tried to Pork Rib. The pork fell right off the bone and was soooooo flavorful! I honestly could have had only pork ribs for my meal and feel 100% satisfied! Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans - I was VERY surprised at this side. It had the right amount of sweet flavor to it and the taste was very unique. I sometimes do not finish a side of baked beans at the BBQ spot, but at this one, I ate it all! One comment I have for the brisket is that it is not as moist and more on the lean side, which is not as I typically like it, but the staff did indicate to me ahead of time that it is the style they typically prepare it, where people that are fans of more fat and moistness get the burnt ends. I did want to at least try it though since I traveled all the way there! The food that was recommended to me was really memorable and I enjoyed my time at Butcher BBQ Stand!

The drive is 56 miles. The Rock Cafe is on Historical Route 66. Built in 1939 from stone that was excavated during the construction of Route 66. It is a charming small town cafe, rich in history. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra. The meal was scrumdiddlyumptious. The Cafe was not noisy even though they were maxed out busy. The prices are very moderate. It's a fun little Cafe with good food.

There was enough for two people to share. Portion could have been better. Service was great. Attentive without being pushy. A fun place to eat. Lots of memorabilia from the movie Cars, which took inspiration from this restaurant. Definitely big on Route 66, too, as evidenced by the adjacent gift shop.
