The Rock Cafe is on Historical Route 66. Built in 1939 from stone that was excavated during the construction of Route 66. It is a charming small town cafe, rich in history. The owner Dawn Welch was the inspiration for the animated character Sally Carrera from the 2006 film Cars. The Cafe is rustic, casual, with a cool fun vibe. The staff is friendly and the service good. The dining area is not large. When we arrived there were a couple of booths and center tables available, but a few minutes later a group of 16 came in and filled the Cafe. We started with fried green tomatoes ($8,25). They were very good. The best I've had at a restrauant. All three of us ordered the chicken fried steak ($14.35), mashed potatoes, cream gravey, and fried Okra. It was very good. The chicken fried steak was just the right size and had substance compared to those that are big on batter and light on meat. The mashed potatoes and cream gravey just right. Loved the fried okra. The meal was scrumdiddlyumptious. The Cafe was not noisy even though they were maxed out busy. The prices are very moderate. It's a fun little Cafe with good food.

We got pizzas from this location a few times before, but they weren't as good as the ones from Lewis that I mentioned above. However, we are pleasantly surprised by this Glenpool branch today. We ordered the large, customized pizza via their app and set the pick-up time. We can get our pizza right on time. The quality and presentation were done at the highest level. You can easily tell by the way they distribute the toppings. And it's cooked perfectly.
