The service earned the two stars, but the food was lukewarm. I ordered a #1 cheeseburger meal with onion rings. The onion rings were really hot and the cheeseburger tasted like it had sat awhile. I sent it back and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for my replacement. Unacceptable!! They were also out of Dr. Pepper and sweet tea? Come on .... really who runs out of sweet tea. Food is great but the service here is absolutely horrible! Wasn't able to get her name but it's the second time now coming to this drive in and having to put in an order with this rude associate. She looks as if she's dressed as a manager. Not a good look. I will leave right away if I come back and she's taking my order. read more

NEVER AGAIN. I have been here a few times for a quick drink or dessert/ice cream. On one of those visits, despite telling them my order several times, they still got it wrong. During another visit, my ice cream was RANCID - it smelled & tasted spoiled. I almost puked. It was horrible. I tried to give them a shot, but I will never come here again. read more

Our server was very kind and courteous. He was a teen, well spoken, and offered us an extra spoon for the kids, which he went back and got for us. He had brown hair. Keep that kid employed! He's doing a great job. Side note, I've never seen that kid before and I don't know him personally. Just really pleased when I see working kids doing a good job, and I think they ought to be noticed for it. read more

Sonic Drive-In on Dorchester Road in Summerville is one of my favorite Sonic locations in the area and a good place to get a quick snack when you need it. I just got home with my order from the Sonic on Grandview Lane in Summerville SC and was very disappointed. I ordered a Double Cheeseburger and a Largr Chocolate Blast. I got a Milkshake instead. Terrible service. I ordered a total of 6 items. 3 of those were combos. Sat for 30 minutes just for the car hop to come tell me they're out of the product I ordered and was in process of making. He said it would be 10 minutes tops. So I said ok that's fine. 15 minutes went by and the same guy comes out and says it will be a additional 20 minutes. At that point I asked for a refund. I had both my kids with me and they were steady saying how hungry they were. I was hungry also after working all day. Why the person who took my order notified me about them being out of product before I paid ? Now I have to wait 4 days for my money to be returned to my card. This use to be my boys and I favorite spot. From here on out we will take our business to Wayback burgers. This Sonic has went downhill read more

I had a simple order: 1 limeade, 1 sprite and 1 order of pickle fries. I literally sat and waited for my order for over 30 minutes. If I could get away with not giving them a star at all I would. I get a pretzel, a sprite that taste like they put lime snow one syrup in a regular sprite. Every time I have came here I am disappointed cause my order is messed up, but I am all about second chances and trying to understand ok, they might be short handed like most places. But how hard is my order?? I wouldn't recommend this location. The car next to me had issues with their order cause I over heard they charged them for tots when she wanted fries. Then when I approached the person that brought my food another gentleman comes and said he didn't even get his burger he paid for. Never again sonic, well this sonic I won't be going back to. I give the person that bright my order the receipt and she was okay then I explained to another worker and he goes and gets the manager that was rude. I told her everything and then says I was rude we'll lady I was nice when I gave the person my receipt and told her my order was messed up. Oh and the whole time their "so called manager" was busy outside talking and flirting with a guy in a black car. I told them I didn't want the order anymore that it's now been 45 minutes. Manager after talking to me walks away, okay what good customer and management service. I know about being short handed but my order was simple. And then to have a maaaaybe high school age kid shrug off the fact that I wasn't satisfied along with the two other people in separate vehicles just shows that some people don't need a management position and some locations as this needs to step up and let someone step in. read more

WORST. SONIC. EVER. I wish I could give them ZERO STARS. I used to stop by this sonic for slushes on my way home from work. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. Not anymore! Went there for the first time in a while a couple weeks ago and ordered a slush. "Sorry, our slush machine is broken." was the response I got. Tried lemonade. Nope, lemonade machine was broken too. Tried sweet tea. "We're out of sweet tea." . I gave up and left. Stopped by the following week and asked first about the slushy machine and was told it was fixed. Yay! I ordered a slush, and was so excited, until it was brought out to me. My 'slush' was water and syrup. There was no way whoever made it & brought it out didn't notice bc I could tell the second it was handed to me. I love Happy Hour at Sonic. Cheap, tasty, refreshing drinks for CHEAP! We like to stop in for ice cream every now and then, too. We don't eat their food very often because we know it's super unhealthy, but it is pretty good for fast food. Today I stopped in to get a such during happy hour and saw something new on the menu: Lil Quickies. It's a chicken tender or little hotdogs on buns. I ordered a ranch chicken thinking it would hold me over til supper. You guy. It was tiny! I guess it could be called a snack for my 8yo but definitely not and adult. I imagine if you wanted a meal ylu"d have to order at least four or five but then 2/3 of your meal would be bread. Do let me note the great service I had, though. On Friday at 3:30pm, I sat there for 25 minutes waiting for someone to take my order. I also tried to wave someone down and was totally ignored. I'm not sure what the issue was, but that is totally uncalled for. If you're understaffed, block out so many parking spots so you can handle the few that come. It's not that hard. read more

I'm not gonna lie. When I say disappointed, I mean it. I ordered a sausage Jr breakfast burrito, French toast sticks, and a M&M blast. I received a bacon jr breakfast burrito with a burnt crispy egg and old chewy bacon. The French toast sticks were burnt to the point of being German toast sticks. And the M&M 'blast' had about a dozen Mini M&Ms sprinkled on top for a 'blast' of dissatisfaction. I must say. It was whole heartedly not worth the 15 minute wait time to order. But I'm truly glad I had this life altering experience. read more

I was handed my food in a bag and my drinks. When I said I also had a Sonic Blast the employee gave me an exasperated sigh and said "are you sure?". She then returned with a smaller size than what I ordered, with no spoon or straw. I also later realized that I was handed a cup leaking from the bottom! Also, I was not given any of the ranch cups that corresponded with the sides I ordered. Horrible experience all said and done! read more

Let me start off by saying I'm not a negative person, but here comes my negative review I always do a mobile order and I'm here at least once a week. I put my order in today and go get it wait 20 plus mins for 2 shakes and what should have been a blast and some cheese sticks. Here's were it goes bad not the waiting 20 mins but waiting just to get melted shakes and what was suppose to be my blast was a vanilla shake with nuts thrown in the middle to make me think it was a blast with a lid on it. So I was very upset cause a blast cost more than a shake in the first place but I really was wanting that blast. Anyway on the the next thing the cheese sticks oh my gosh did y'all pick them out of the trash to give me they was old keep in mind I had been waiting for 20 mins so why did I wait that long for melted shakes and old cheese sticks that was no where near fresh? And when you have a kid that took a bite and threw it away you know it's bad since most kids eat cheese sticks hot or cold. And I also tried to call before leaving such a negative review but no one picked up. After digging around on the suppose to be a blast I see a few more nuts so I'm guessing it is a blast just not the blasts I'm used to getting. read more

I usually went on Saturdays for shakes with my daughter. We just ordered shakes and tots on a Monday. The tots were cold and smashed with French fries mixed in. Ordered a milk shake and half was whip cream. This is the last I go. Best $9 I ever spent. read more

Typically fast service but don't bother going after 9, for you can feel the workers don't want you there. Of the last 6 times I've eaten here 4 of those times I was given the wrong order. And the server would read the correct order and hand me the wrong item. Ordered buffalo got bbq, or would order a large and get a small, and most often when ordering a shake you are likely to get just about any other flavor than the one you asked for. I typically order the smores shake but have received a strawberry, cookies and cream and most recently a banana shake. All on different days. I get the feeling they intentionally make orders wrong when it's closer to closing time, because otherwise the frequency is uncanny. Today I ordered a medium s'mores shake an hour before close. The car hop brought it to me and confirmed it was a s'mores shake, the receipt on the screen as well as my paper receipt all say S'mores shake. And yet I take a sip and it tastes of banana barely mushed into vanilla ice cream. Normally I'd chock it up to them bringing me the wrong order, But they added the marshmallow fluff topping that comes with the s'mores shake into the banana smoothie they served me. So, If they were confused and trying to make a banana shake wouldn't they have used normal whipped cream? But they didn't. Like I get mistakes can happen but at some point it just becomes tricking your customers out of their money. And this is not the place I'd trust to send my food or drinks back to be remade. I'd recommend McDonald's over this place and that should speak volumes. read more

If I could give this place "zero" stars I would. My gosh, 45 minutes for 4 drinks and still no signs of orders being delivered to other customers. Walked in to ask for a refund and was told it would take 5-7 days to process. I explained I wanted to see the credit now as Apple shows you in real time. Owner was a real jerk and we will NEVER return to this joke of an establishment. The place was disgusting inside and they were just standing inside in a daze, clearly no one knows how to actually work. Word of advice please visit a Chick-fil-A or even McDonalds for that matter to see how to run a fast food place. Sonic is not a sit down steak dinner establishment for heavens sake. read more

I've been to this sonic probably a dozen times. It's very hit or miss. I get good service about half the time. Most times, the drinks are great and the food sucks! (Which is pretty typical for sonic, I guess.) My last visit urged me to type this up. We waited for quite a bit of time before placing an order. They were busy, so it was excusable. It took a while to get our food to us. I really don't mind waiting for fresh food. Our food wasn't fresh in the slightest, I was upset. Once we got home we dug into the Ice Cream, I had ordered an Oreo Blast. My husband ordered a Triple Chocolate Shake. The ice cream tasted fine, but when I got about an inch down, I find that the bottom of the cup was filled with plain vanilla Ice Cream. They simply topped off vanilla ice cream with a small amount of Oreo Chocolate ice cream. My husband's ice cream was done the same way. I will not likely return to this location. read more

On June 30th, I was very disappointed that a server delivered our food without a mask. Really?? Also, we ordered three M&M ice creams and she brought out three melted ice creams and said machine was broken and gave us milk shakes instead. "I hope that's okay?" Well I should have said NO IT'S NOT, but didn't to be polite. Not happy with the service there and honestly won't go back anytime soon. read more

We used to come here often. But lately this place is awful. It takes forever first to answer. Then to get your food I hope you have time today it took so long my wife went into find out why they ended up making the order over again. I realize they are probably short staffed. But while waiting for our order the young girl came out to talk to her friends. I can't say how disappointed I am with this location. My family and I have tried this place a few times. The service is sub par and the food and shakes aren't very good. I've had good sonic before in Las Vegas , NV so something else is creating this experience. Hope they get it together and start providing great service and great food. Very disappointed in my service today. Pulled in and pressed the button to place an order. Took forever to answer and then as I was ordering the young girl kept telling that her screen wasn't working. My order disappeared twice and we had to start over. The only reason we stayed is because I promised my children sonic. Waited 30 minutes for our food. Not at all happy with the service, don't waste your time. read more

As I've mentioned in previous reviews of fast food restaurants, I don't stop at them often, but sometimes you just have to. Dealing with some stress and a non-existing appetite for a while, I finally woke up starving today and needed to eat! I didn't have the energy to make an egg sandwich so I did the next best thing, went and got one! I've always appreciated that Sonic does breakfast all day so a bacon, egg, and cheese toaster was in order. That is usually all I get from here. And sometimes it has been bad. Bad being really dry, or bread not toasted, those kind of things, but for the most part, it is usually satisfying. read more

Sonic- just like every other one. This one is kind of weird to get in/out of due to the location/amount of heavy traffic. The screens don't always work/show you the order, but I've never had a problem with my orders. The staff is friendly and never seem to make you feel like you're bothering them with any questions you might have! read more

For the past two years we keep goin by back, hoping the quality will improve but we continue to get cold food, half melted shakes from machines that are broken and used anyway, shakes with no foaming or the wrong flavor all together. If you really want to enjoy a great Sonic burger or shake go to any other Sonic but this one. read more

I order a creme slush, a bannana creme pie shake, and a cookie dough shake for my kids and I'm sittin here watchin this guy in the green with no gloves on make these drinks and 3 drinks in a row grabs toppings barehanded and sprinkles them into the drinks....then, he walks to the front door and grabs the small broom a different employee had just used to sweep the parking lot, grabs the bristle end with one (ungloved) hand and proceed to push whatever is in the dispenser hanging from the ceiling toward the back with the handle. He then, goes straight back to the drink station and takes the bannana for my daughter's shake, peels it and grabs the bannana itself and breaks it off with his bare hand (the broom bristle one), and finishes making my drink! I haven't ever been this disgusted with a restaurant ever. 100% manager's fault here. read more

The sitting area outside is clean and taken care of with accessible trash cans and napkins. Because we all know on hot summer days, the ice cream can melt quicker than we can eat them. Pricing is very reasonable, the rewards program has great deals from time to time, and you get a LOT of ice cream for what you pay. The small (two scoops) is what is shown in my photo attached. It's massive. Flavors we love and recommend: butter pecan, strawberry cheesecake, salted caramel, and mint chocolate. The ice cream connoisseur of the family (our youngest) proclaims that Bruster's chocolate ice cream is the best around...just the right amount of chocolate and "just perfect."

I ordered a scoop of cookie dough and strawberry shortcake ice cream on a waffle cone. My husband struggled a bit to find something GF that wasn't just vanilla or chocolate. The lady tried to help us but wasn't that confident in some suggestions she had off the top of her head and asked if he can have nuts... Anyway we finally got him a butter pecan and butterfinger. The ice cream was as good as we remembered it to be. Ice cream has gotten more expensive these days but it was a special treat for date night.

However, what tires my bones to the core is the inauthenticity of people that have taken over coffee culture; with their man-buns, little lap tops writing "the next great American novel," forearmed tattooed and blue haired activist that... No, what I see from this dainty coffee bar are inviting pastel-colored walls, light toned wood chairs and tables, crayon inspired specials written on the windows and where ever along with their merch being pushed dead in front. It's an ok vibe in here and the people are simple, thus my whole rant about generation 3.14 isn't applicable here. As for the staff they're great and receptive of what you want to drink as well as giving suggestions. I got there when a lot of younger staff were working so I tried to spark up a conversation. Specifically, if she's tried Kopi Luwak (google it) and if she liked it. She had no idea what I was talking about so I switched to Taylor Swift, to which the conversation picked up. Concern for this generation resonated in my head, but hey at least we were talking, and she didn't ask to chat via snap chat! I kid... I kid. The staff here are very nice and they were playing 80s music (see how I dated myself?) which "I can name that song in three notes" and did. While I'm a medium roast coffee kind of guy and I like my coffee like the women I date; hot, sweet and blonde. I vary my selection by what I'm in the mood for, sometimes latte, sometimes hot or iced, sometimes mocha, you get the drift; and yes I'm talking about coffee (get your mind out of the gutter). But what I do appreciate is creativity in a beverage and a joint with the courage to put a creation on their menu. When I read the Butter bear latte stood out and I knew that was what I wanted. The butterscotch punched me in the mouth as a "you've never met someone like me before" love tap. The caramel snuck up from behind and smoothed out the experience while the coffee kept the band playing nice together. Scanning their menu, Biggby does commit to giving something different a real go and I applaud them for it. In summary, Biggby grinds their beans to order and this really enhances the quality of their coffee. Add to that they create an environment where one can feel safe while sitting inside or just stopping by with enthusiastic employees and it's a recipe for success. While I didn't sample their "edibles" (how's my parking?) they looked wonderful. To finish, the employees are great people, the ambiance is fun and the coffee is great. Stop by if you want something good to pick yourself up or rub elbows with a future leader of America.

The two ladies who served me were awesome! I ordered a grilled chicken salad, a loaded quesadilla, and loaded nachos. The employee who prepared my order took extra care to pack it so that when I got home, my nachos would not be soggy. I did not manage to get her name, but she was wearing a pink shirt and spoke with a slightly raspy voice. I truly appreciate the excellent customer service she provided me today. I will definitely visit this location again, and I will be sure to let my friends know that if they want to receive great customer service, they should head to the N. Main St. location. Thank you!
