I've been working with Brady Dale and Fearless Fitness on and off for almost 5 years. When I started I was very overweight, had chronic inflammation, back, hip and foot pain, poor balance, and no motivation. Brady helped me to learn good habits, the importance of good form and posture and daily stretching. Brady really listened to my needs. Emotional, physical and mental. After a few years and a broken ankle it really sank in. I started doing what he had been telling me all along. Fitness had always been about weight loss before and I was able to make a mental shift that it was about health, both mental and physical. I began to stretch daily, move daily, eat real food. I started doing what brady had trained me to do and the weight began to come off, my balance increased, my mental health got better. I felt good. I made a commitment to start working with Brady and Delaney Peters several times a week and my strength increased. She makes it a personal experience that no big club, gym, or corporation can replicate. The membership is very reasonable for not only what's included in the facility but the environment of it and with 24 hour access; the accessibility of which you can do so. It's also very conveniently located between Wasilla and Palmer. This might not be a gym with everything you personally believe you need. It may not be a gym with the newest equipment. It may not have any leisure sports, activities, or clubs included. But it does have personality. It does have great ownership. It does have great community. It does have necessities. It does have motivated members. It does have personal time management utilization. No other gym in the valley, let alone Anchorage compares. There is only one gym where you can walk in at anytime, be called by name without checking a card or ID, have access to a variety of great equipment, not pay a crazy amount for access, and be motivated and have everything you need to chase your fitness goals. My friend and I went to work out with our own plan of action, 15 minutes cardio on the treadmill warm up, 45 weights, 15 minutes cool down. There is a spacious ladies locker room. What really makes this space special is the lighting and ample space to shower and get ready for work. Two women were getting their hair and makeup ready for work, with counters and mirrors set up for an HIIT class to get ready afterward easily. Advertised at the gym separate fees were tanning sessions. The gym had showers, sauna and cold plunge areas in the ladies locker room. In my time here in Wasilla I'm hoping to return as much as possible. There were so many machines I was unfamiliar with, I was able to complete my workout at 9 in a clean, elegant facility. I'd love to work with a trainer here. My next trip, I'm going to look into just that. The interior is all black with thin white lights floating high above, so you can focus on your tasks mentally while working out. A very nice facility. The floors are consistently dirty, the tanning rooms have dirt and dust buildup on the floors, and paper towels are frequently empty. The overall cleanliness and attention to detail are simply not what they used to be. There also seems to have been a change in the overall professionalism of the club. The decline in cleanliness and upkeep, made me question whether there has been a change in management or expectations. This used to be an exceptionally clean, professional gym and one I was happy to recommend. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and gets the Wasilla location back to the standard it previously maintained.

Less than three weeks later, I received a notice that my billing information was invalid and that I would be charged a $15 late fee. I immediately verified my payment information, and it was correct. My initial membership payment had already been processed successfully using the same payment method, so there was no reason for me to believe there was a problem. I spoke with the front desk, who told me management would not remove the fee. I then contacted Planet Fitness customer support, and instead of helping, they told me to work it out with the local gym. After trying both the local club and corporate, neither was willing to take ownership or resolve the issue. I canceled my membership because I refuse to pay a late fee that appears to have resulted from a billing issue outside of my control. The gym itself is nice, and I enjoyed the atmosphere, but good equipment can't make up for poor customer service. If you're thinking about joining this location, keep in mind that if you have a billing problem, you may be left on your own. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.
