Don't be fooled, this is no easy, dull, boring "Links" course, it's a challenge and that's part of the beauty and character of the course. Before or after your round, try the food and grab a beer at their Whiskey Hill Golf Grill while taking in sporting events on a half dozen HDTV's. It's really good. Breakfast burritos and Bloody Mary's to go in the morning are extra bonuses for us on the run.

Smooth greens, tight fairways, and the layout rewards smart play without being brutal. It is far more polished than most munis. Slightly sad fact? The course runs beside I-70, so mountain serenity comes with a symphony of highway noise. Other private courses in the region do too, but are set back further so the decibel level is lower or insignificant. This location nevertheless is a must-play if you're anywhere near Vail.

She is one of the regular waitresses there and is always rude and indifferent. If you hate what you're doing, maybe you should find a new career? We ordered drinks and the service was slow and indifferent. She then sat a party of four men at the table right next to us. Mind you the entire dining room was empty. For the remainder of our very slow and badly served meal we had to endure extremely inappropriate loud conversation from the table next to us. If I could include their subject matter here and keep it rated PG I would. It was somewhere between X and R-rated without the use of curse words. They were so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. We complained to the waitress who was again . . . indifferent. We quickly asked for our check and left. We were informed that they are closing for the winter on October 27th. Hopefully the management will take that time to reorganize the restaurant, their policies and hiring practices.

IMHO, this is the premier location in the Vail Valley for golf and so much more. The golf courses are in phenomenal condition and practice facilities are top notch. Find someone that is a member and do whatever you need to do to get then to bring you onto the course.
