Normally it's wine tasting with friends for a couple of days. The many wineries throughout the area. Literally one after the other. Besides being in an area that so pretty with vineyards surrounding you. There's a lot of amazing restaurants to try. You have all the local favorites as well as the well known restaurants that can take months to get a reservation. Napa is known for loads of nice places to eat. Even walking through town, the main downtown area does get pretty packed with holiday makers. More tasting rooms, nice restaurants, you have some shopping and some good souvenirs shops. Mainly higher priced items but still worth checking out. Can't leave out all nice fancy hotels. More intimate with most of them but with the feel that you're well taken care of. Napa isn't cheap as you'll want to do loads of tasting and eating. It's a place that's worth checking out if you've never been. It's a few hours from San Francisco. We've done day trips from there loads of times. A fun has alway been here and can't wait till the next time.

Wineries are truly everywhere -- you can take your pick and your poison -- and each one has its own charm. We flew in from Las Vegas and arrived at Sacramento Airport, then rented a car and made the drive to Napa. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes. Just a heads‑up: the drive gets very dark at night, especially once you leave the city areas, so make sure your headlights are on and you're comfortable with winding roads. Despite the weather, Napa still delivered that peaceful, wine‑country magic. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic escape -- even in the rain -- this place doesn't disappoint.

The Crockett museum with the Palotta record sized sturgeon. Its here. The Dead Fish or The Crockett Cusina restaurants. (By the way. Someone tell the Crockett Cusina to make there outdoor "Daily Special" billboard sign visible to car traffic.) They are here. There are nice water views around town and I have seen a few nice views of XX chromosome types. Yes here in Crockett! I could go on and on but my beer from Crockett's special J&L Market is getting warm. There is much to do in Crockett. Stop in and meet some friends that are waiting for you. They've always been rough, especially if you're headed into downtown. If you take Petaluma/Pt. Reyes Road (it begins as the D Street Extension), there aren't only granitic outcroppings that hearken back to New Hampshire.. but they're in the road as well. The road improves as soon as you reach Marin County... because, Marin. Back in 1906, Petaluma attracted San Franciscans fleeing the earthquake. The city is built on solid bedrock, preserving its Victorian heritage. Gen. Vallejo's stately adobe on the east side largely survived. Despite its solid footing, Petaluma's roads tend to be an adventure. However, its main thoroughfares- McDowell, Washington, Petaluma (Boulevard) are quite good&get frequent maintenance. Sometimes, I treat Petaluma's roads as a destination- but for the most part, Petaluma's roads are paths to other places- Pt. Reyes Station, Guerneville, Sebastopol, Fort Ross.

We simply couldn't get out of numerous potholes (luckily we had a crew with a winch), and others were bone jarring fun! The city even provides additional obstacles to progress, particularly those parts of the trails deliberately narrowed to challenge even the most advanced. Wonderful stuff. They also allow street cars I understand, but presently this isn't a problem as there are no practical ways to cross town so the residents sportingly stay home while they wait for some sort of train to take them to the outskirts of the next town to shop or simply stand around. Our rock crawler took a real pounding so will need some serious work before we attempt this category 5 challenge again! Kudos to the city leadership for such a visionary recreational opportunity. We'll be back with the entire club as we understand more features are being added every week. The metal plates course will be of particular interest to extreme sports enthusiasts.

One of my favorite parts was walking across the bridges along the route. They gave off a subtle European vibe and made the stroll feel scenic, especially if you enjoy wandering and taking your time. All in all, it's a calm and charming walk that adds a nice touch to Napa and is well worth the stop!

Yelp to the rescue!…read more It was stank-ass, 100° F, hot-as-dammit out for the California Beer Festival - Novato. Yeah, sure, it was all the beer you could drink. But in those conditions, you gotta have water or you're not making it through all 4 1/2 hours of beer tasting. & that would be a travesty. Fortunately, Kevin B., Yelp North Bay's intrepid CM, was manning the Hydration Station & passing out bottles of refreshing cold water. For free! That's right, free! Needless to say, he got bum-rushed by the hundreds of CBF-Novato attendees & eventually the free water bottles ran out. But hey, it was free, 1st come 1st served, while supplies last! & did I mention that it was free? Free cold water at a beer festival on a really hot day? Yeah, I'm a fan of that!

The lines for the food and beer were long even though the place was not that packed. I think I would attend again however I will do the following. BRING WATER!! You have to wait in line at food stand for water (30 to 45min). The hydration station was sold out of water two hours into event. Bring lawn chairs and umbrellas. there was very little seating around the music area. Even though I was critical of event I would say this is a great way to spend the afternoon if you are really into micro brews. Remember a good beer taste great even in the crappiest of settings so you cant really loose.

After returning back to running events since COVID, I have been happy that Yelp has been working on getting me back into it. Sure, yummy food events are always welcome, but a healthy run gives an excuse to eat more! Especially when it takes place at the Barlow which already itself has its fair share of great food eats. The website was not kidding when it says that it starts the race with a beer/cider toast! I thought it was an electrolyte drink :D So if you see a table full of drinks at the starting line, beware! For those who have not spent too much time in Sebastopol, there is some rural parts with beautiful countryside to run through. I would say that the course was overall easy to moderate with several inclines. However, for those casual runners or just getting into it, I would highly recommend the 3k option. After the race, there was a brewfest with plenty of vendors for people to drink and sample different brews. Although not a big drinker myself, it was a popular post race activity. If not, many of the restaurants at the Barlow and the surrounding area were open to get your fill of breakfast foods and coffee. Overall, I was happy to have participated in the IPA10K and hope many more of these events become available!

I have never run more than a mile or two and that was back in high school. Signing up for this race motivated me and pushed me to do something outside of my comfort zone. And what better way to celebrate than at a brewfest afterwards. Focusing solely on the race - pickup for badges, etc. was made nice and easy and I was ready to go the morning of race day. Parking, of course, was an ordeal, but that's a given for any type of event like this. The organization was impressive. Everyone working was very helpful, encouraging, and just in such a great mood. The route was beautiful. It was such a perfect morning for the run as well. It was just a nice feeling being able to run freely through the wonderful city of Sebastopol with great views of nature along through. There was some mild uphill/downhill, but seemed mostly flat for the 6.2 miles. When we were finished, we were greeted with some Lagunitas soda water type cans and some healthy snack bars and fruit. And then, of course, lots of beer! We definitely talked about making this a tradition. Such a fun day! Thank you so much for the opportunity!

Great place to people watch. Beautiful architecture as well. Reminds me a bit of Downtown Alameda where I used to live and miss with the older historical buildings and a bit like Ddowntown Davis as well with the strung lights + how well it's maintained. It's 100% worth a day visit if you dont live here. Locals are very friendly. Quite a lot of homeless around downtown and the Amtrak station though tbh, just a sad sign of the times. And have Increased everywhere in these hard times, esp. In SF, Oakland, Sac.. Hopefully we can all come up with better solutions to assist soon.

Nothing pleases me more than to walk along a street like Main Street. It is filled with interesting stores and restaurants. It's so nice to be someplace that is not blighted with big box stores and chain restaurants. I did not find feel it was a dangerous rundown place to be like one reviewer did. I feel safe when I walk here. It is never busy. New businesses are opening in the empty store fronts.
