There is the historical downtown area filled with restaurants, shops, etc. and the Smart Train goes there so it's all very convenient to get to. It's a fun place to walk around and soak in all that the downtown area has to offer. There is lots of amazing farm to table dining options both in the downtown area and outside of the downtown area due to the surrrounding dairies and ranches. The food is all so fresh and amazing! If you are a foodie, Petaluma has some amazing options for you to check out! There are several breweries in the area like Lagunitas Brewing Company and HenHouse Brewing if you are into beer. There is a distillery and Petaluma has a whole new AVA, so if you are a Pinot Noir lover, you will find incredible wines from the Petaluma Gap AVA. There are also lots of outdoor areas. The one that I love the most is Helen Putnam Regional Park. It has lots of lush green trails with rolling hills and stunning views. The Petaluma River is a great spot for kayaking and paddle boarding. The Shollenberger Park is also a great spot if you are into bird watching. I love how green this area is and also that there are so many things to do depending on your interests.

So excited every time I Czech my Northbay Elite page and see a new event added by Kevin "The…read moreMothership," CM, and this event was one I've been excited about for some time! I make it down to Petaluma often for shopping and a few select restaurants, but I don't visit as much as I'd like, so the Social Club has been on my list since I read about it's opening in the Press Democrat (thank you Heather Irwin!). First star is for free parking. FREE MOTHER FATHERING PARKING, YO! I can't tell you how excited I get about free parking. Srsly, it's the little things in life that makes the biggest difference. Ample parking everywhere, on the street, in the lot, in the garage, in the sky, it's everywhere. So great. Alix loves it. Second star is for my freaking amazing new yelp swag. I don't know about you, but when I get yelpy swag, I actually use it. The stunna shades go with me to many events, the wristbands have accompanied me to quite a few lunches, and the pins are versatile and compliment literally (figuratively) every outfit. My new yelp fingerless gloves will be a fabulous new addition to my yelp-obsession; you're warned. Third star is for my amazing peeps. Kevin, you're the coolest ever. I think that's the first time I've ever seen you without a hat, tres chic. John and Lilia, you guys are the epitome of elite status, and Lilia you always make me smile when I see you, with your incredible hair, looking all badass. Issy, my heart is breaking to hear you're attempting to leave us for Sacramento Yelp, we're going to formulate a kidnapping plot to keep you forever, just you see. New friend Tracey, with your impressive amount of reviews, hot damn girl, incredible, and your new haircut is fierce. And everyone else who I met/saw and can't mention... Fourth star is for the food, which I really enjoyed. My favorite was surprisingly not the bacon mac and cheese, but the eggplant with cherry tomato (and a hint of curry?). I was not really about the trout offering though, which was the only fail I saw, just personal preference. Last star was for Social Club for hosting us on their newly built beer garden. The day was a little chilly, but I can imagine in my way too creative mind a warm summer evening with a perfectly poured cocktail, and savoring the beauty and greatness that is Petaluma. Will be returning...also, $3 Fernet shots?!? Yissss

The 1st impression was fantastic. Actually, the impression before the 1st impression was a key factor. Location. Social Club & Restaurant is right next to a parking structure with free parking + EV charging stations. Score! Social Club & Restaurant is a great looking venue with clean lines & lots of weathered wood. It was the ideal setting on a cool Summer day to relax with Yelp friends, gratis bites & Redd's Apple Ale. All while my EV got some free juice. Thanks Kevin B. for, yet again, another fun YEE. Seriously, Yelp's Summer Break at Social Club & Restaurant was North Bay's 4th awesome YEE in 5 weeks. That has got to be some kind of record-setting pace. Thanks also to Social Club & Restaurant. You've got a great space in a great location with tasty bites that perfectly complement your full bar. &, naturally, thanks to North Bay Elite friends who came out & made it all a lot of fun.

Ordered a nice…read moreglass of Italian wine from the Abruzzo region, ordered some meatballs, carpaccio, and toasted bread with an olive/vinegar to sop it all up. The sauce for the meatballs was fresh & not too acidic & the meatballs are made with various meats, the balsamic vinegar/olive oil was good but I think a stronger olive oil would be a better match. The carpaccio was good, it is my favorite to order, but I prefer a stronger lemon & some mustard with mine and again a stronger olive oil flavor. My favorite item was the panna cotta. The presentation is beautiful & the slight taste of lavender(not medicinal at all) with the honey and berry syrup and scattered fruit with pistachio on top was superb. The Panna Cotta had a nice consistency not too fluffy or light. Service was great, busy little place. They're doing something right.

The…read moresmall dining room doesn't afford much space between tables but even so we were comfortable and able to have a conversation without having to shout. The menu is on the smaller side - a few options each of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees - and a couple of specials. We went with the bruschetta trio (the winner of the entire meal) and chose the traditional, the prosciutto and the salmon of which the traditional was the favorite. The entrees were ok. I went with the chicken piccata which was not prepared in the traditional manner of pan-frying the chicken; I'm guessing by its white anemic color it was maybe poached separately first before being added to the piccata sauce. The sauce was missing the acidity of white wine and lemon (although I'm sure they were in there) and even the capers couldn't help punch up the flavor. Between the underwhelming seasoning/flavor and the chicken missing that crispy exterior the dish just didn't deliver. My partner's salmon pasta Alfredo was also just ok, again it could have used more seasoning and the sauce was so watery it was impossible to get it to coat the fish and the pasta. I can see why a lot people enjoy Sugo - the food is good enough relative to the very reasonable menu prices and the staff is great; just know that at least some of the dishes deviate from the traditional preparations. Next time I'd stick with the bruschetta and add a salad to round out the meal.

It did not seem like an Italian dish, but it was tasty. The garlic bread was really good and i love the cheese on it. The eggplant Parmesan was different than others I have tried. It's served like two big pieces of eggplant that have been breaded, fried, and covered in melted cheese and marinara. It was delicious! It came with some spaghetti and marinara. Speaking of their marinara, it's a sweet and chunky style that tastes totally homemade. It's not the kind of marinara I grew up with but I liked it a lot. The best dish was their bolognese. I love the flavors in this dish. A good bolognese tastes likes its been summed for hours and this had that wonderful home cooked quality. Next time, I will have dinner at the restaurant. For food alone, I give it five stars!

The calamari was subpar. The chicken parm was tasty and the garlic bread stole the show. I wish there was a bit more pasta with my chicken parm. It just seemed like a small portion. We were disappointed with the fettuccine Alfredo because the prawns were basically baby shrimp. Very misleading because prawn usually indicate large shrimp. And we paid an extra $10. The food was okay but for the pricing they could stand to give bigger portions so you can feel like you're getting more bang for your buck.

Even though locations may change per tour, our group tasted a mix of cultures and got some stories behind the dishes, the restaurants, and their owners. Few examples - * Russian cuisine - Herring with a pickled onion on fresh bread * Indian street food - I was surprised how much I enjoyed this vegan street snack - I would have never ordered anything without meat, and I dislike spinach, but the fried spinach snack was mind-blowingly good. * Mexican - Quesadilla with plantain. Again, no meat but it was soooooo good. * Chinese - Glazed Pork and pork-filled bun I won't spoil the surprise for some of the other locations. And more, and more - Total of about 7-8 places. You won't stay hungry, guaranteed. The walk itself is not challenging; there are no hills to overcome, even though it's San Francisco. Don't wait - Just go!
