This place has put a lot of thought into what people need in a R.V. Park. I want to start off by stating that this was our 1st experience in a travel trailer and where to park it. We came down for a tournament in Chandler. I booked this last minute and did not realize it was a holiday wknd. Laurie (sorry, don't remember spelling) helped w/ this and also when we came into park. We arrived after 7pm, which they were so kind to accommidate as we came from NV. This place has many amenities. We didn't get to explore all, but we will definitely be coming back. A++++ If I could give this RV park 6 stars I would!!! It is hidden off the main freeway, situated back off the road. It is clean, quiet, Laura at check in was so sweet & welcoming, the spots are huge, the pool is so nice, the laundry facilities are extremely clean & the entire park is well maintained. I mean, this is what all RV parks should be. It is fairly priced & worth every penny! Love, love, love this park. We were passing through the area on our way from Quartzsite to Benson, AZ and this was a convenient stop in the middle. This used to be a KOA and I had avoided it due to cost in the past. But comparing it with other RV parks in the general area, it wasn't too out of whack this time. They do not offer discounts like Good Sam or Passport America like some other parks do. The park is very nice compared to other parks in town. It has nice wide, long sites with gravel surface and full hookups. The owner met us at the gate and parked us at our site. He explained the rules and was friendly and helpful. They even have snake bite trained staff if our pets or ourselves get bit. The park has some premium sites with extra features like pet runs, patios, bbq's, etc. The roads are paved throughout the park and they have nice rock-scaped areas to make the park look classy. We didn't use any of the amenities, but they had a pool, spa, recreation center, etc that are available. There were many seasonal visitors that likely participate in their scheduled activities also. Maybe next time we can experience these. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. It's landscaped with gravel and no trees for shade but since it's an RV Park I was not concerned with that. Super friendly staff. Quiet campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. Didn't get a chance to use the pool or ranch house but if they are as good as the rest of the park I'm sure they are great. Great stargazing. Can hear the trains as they pass in the night but it's relaxing not jarring. Lonely train whistle They have spaces wiry dog kennels and bbqs. Fancy! Also a fenced dog park for Fido to run off leash. I liked the "solitary confinement" quarters to get some reading done while listening to wind chimes read more

Whoever designed this park thought of EVERYTHING! (See their website for all of the amenities.) First and foremost, it is the only grass dog pen we saw in AZ (and there are three separate enclosures). They took great care to ensure the enclosures remain free of snakes and toads. The RV park is quite large and extremely clean. Signage is excellent with no skimping there. My only two complaints is there is only one trash receptacle in the front of the park, but it is very easy to access with your motorhome or trailer on your way out. The other somewhat negative is the distance the dog park is from most of the sites. The roads in the park are what I would describe as small gravel pressed into tar (it's very nice) but for my California tender-footed fur-kid, she acted like her feet hurt when we walked too far which is why I made mention of the dog park distance. I usually just drove her over. But this RV park is really top notch! Oh, but be sure you have your rations on board before getting there because the closest real grocery store is about 40 miles. read more

A real gem in the unlikeliest location..They called me in advance to be sure I would make it in time before the office closed, and instructions in case we didn't. When I arrived and checked in I asked where I could buy creamer for my coffee. They told me but the owner of the park happened to be there and offered to bring some creamer to my site and he did! The park has a self dog wash fully equipped, tennis courts and a pickleball court. Even the pool was open heated to 85-90 temp. My site had a personal dog run, propane table heater, a propane barbeque all on a nice concrete patio. This without any doubt is a five star park with staff that exceed five stars. I highly recommend!!!! read more

Very nice, clean RV Park. Facilities and pool are pristine. Dog park has grass. The whole park is well done and feels brand new. We stopped over on our way to Sedona and liked it so much we decided to stop there on the way back instead of driving straight home. Some of the staff can seem a bit fussy, which was the only downfall. read more

We stayed one night in early September, so think, HOT. This is definitely off season for them. So the park was nearly empty. We arrived late due to a flat tire. Fortunately they had all our paperwork at a kiosk, complete with a map, clearly marking the way to our site since it was well after dark. Our site was a really nice gravel pull thru and level. All the utilities were conveniently lockdown at the rear of our site. We had a deluxe site with a really nice concrete patio, complete with a fire feature and BBQ. Of course we weren't able to use it because it was bloody hot and we arrived late and left early the next morning. But in the winter I'd imagine it would be a welcome amenity. I'd definitely stay again if driving thru this area. The folks that run the place were very helpful in making our misfortunes on the road not carry over to our stay by having everything so organized. read more

By far, the best campground we've ever stayed in. Secured with a gate code and watchful staff. Super clean, roomy campsites and facilities. Beautiful location, sunsets and Mountain Views were stunning. The Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is nearby and worth a day trip. We paid extra for the "pet house suite" and it gave us even more room and the propane fire pit was great. Everything was well-planned and maintained. We will absolutely return. read more

We stayed at Sonoran Desert on our way home from an extended RV trip. Front office was friendly upon check in and we were escorted to our site by the owner, Scott, and one of the employees. Scott spent several minutes to show me all the hook ups and provide information about the park amenities. He genuinely loves his park! Shortly after that, I found that I was unable to connect to cable. After a call to the office, Scott came out and spent considerable time to troubleshoot our connection and his service. Once it was determined that our rig co-ax wiring was the likely problem, Scott gave us a loaner cable so that we could use the cable overnight. We also took advantage of the nicest fenced dog park that we have ever encountered in over 25 years of RV'ing. While we did not use the bathrooms, pool or laundry, we have no doubt that they are as pristine and cared for as the rest of the park. This is indeed one of the very best RV parks we have ever stayed at and can recommend it without hesitation! Mark Halstead read more

After a long day on the road pulling in to the Gila Bend KOA was a welcome respite. The owner, Scott and his "assistant" Winston gave us a warm welcome and checked us in, then escorted us to our site. The campground is very well maintained, with large sites. The heated pool and accompanying bathrooms rival any high-end resort. Pride in ownership shows throughout the property. We will definitely be back. Now for the details, they have full hookups, large sites, laundry, heated pool, huge dog park, WiFi, small convenience store, large DVD lending library, gas BBQ's and a community outdoor fireplace. This RV park is a jewel in the desert. It is laid out for any size rig, some spaces being 100" long. Plenty of room for the Class A of any size and the towed vehicle. It is spotless, well groomed with first class facilities. We stopped here on the way back to Calif and it was over 110 degrees today. Hook ups are well placed and the sites are nicely leveled. I would have no hesitation to stay here again when coming through....Take a look folks, I am sure you will love it . PS....It has a fantastic dog park , with separate sections set aside for dogs that can not get along with others and it has manicured grass too, in this heat amazing! read more

This RV park is an excellent place to stay during your travels, especially if you have a dog. The pet area has real grass and after only having gravel and sand our dog goes crazy enjoying the grass. The owner here lives on site and is very accommodating and has included so many bonuses for his guests. The pool is awesome and the sites are spacious. this is with out question the greatest rv park I have ever stayed in. there are so many things great about this park, but the greatest was the fenced in dog run. My blue heeler puppy who was "wired" after a day in the RV could go off leash and run and run and run. actual grass in the dog runs. I stayed for two nights on my way to Mexico and one on the way back. Bathrooms, perfect. very reasonable. less than $50 per night. In San Felipe Mexico I stayed in a dump for $35. (they did have a beach). If you go by here, stay here. read more

I highly recommend this park! We stayed for one night on our way to our final destination. The staff met us when we pulled in, recognized our name, and knew we had already paid. They then led us to our spot in a golf cart. The park is pretty large, well taken care of, and very clean. We stayed at a special site that had a concrete pad with a nice table, propane firepit (propane is provided), adirondack chairs, a charcoal BBQ (they provide a free bag of briquettes), and the best part - a private dog run. There is even a fence that provides some privacy. The only downside is the road noise. The long term folks get spots further from the road and there isn't really much to do in Gila Bend, so it isn't a problem for a night or two. If we pass through Gila Bend again, we will absolutely stay here again! read more

A nice clean newer park. Sites are large, almost all pull thru. Laundry is clean with 6 washers and dryers ,price $2 a load. There is a heated pool, but no hot tub. Didn't check out the bathroom so can't comment on that. There iimited wifi,and free cable.The staff is very friendly. I would give the park a five had it not be for the power surges we kept having at site 614. Staff tried to figure out what was wrong butt they couldn't. even happened in the middle of the night when nothing was running. I am assuming it was not us. You're looking for things to do near Gila Bend there isn't very much it's in the middle of the desert so relax and enjoy the scenery. There is snake and Scorpion warnings all around there's a phone number to call if you see a snake and they will have it taken away by a snake wrangler immediately. We however did not see any of the Critters and we were there in March. Conveniently off the interstate. Stock up on groceries before you go like I said there is nothing for at least 30 miles in either direction read more

Ryan the on site Manager is awesome. Super energetic, friendly and helpful. We pulled in around 8-8:30pm and he met us at the front and led us to our site and gave us all the info regarding the grounds. This KOA is clean and put together lots of space as it's the off season. Fire pit & swing set. The pool and some landscaping are under construction. They weren't loud, you can hear a little of the freeway but not enough for any one to really complain about. Spots to let your pets out but there is a hike in the back if you really want to give them exercise or throw a ball. No shade so bring your own for a long stay. Great for an over nighter but will be great for longer stays once it's up and running. read more

I asked him if he could help me get my TV's working on my new / used 5th wheel trailer. Scott came to my rig and worked with me for about an hour to get the TV's operating. This KOA campground is so clean and the staff very helpful. We have stayed there 3 years in a row on an annual trip. The staff has really stepped it up with the landscaping of desert plants and trees as well as colored gravel. Really nice ! they have a pool ,Laundry room and Bbq area ! This was our final overnight on a 7 week cross country trip. Campground was just what we needed. Clean, spacious easy access spaces, very friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers. Highly recommend this campground. They make you feel at home. As and added plus, we lost a coach key when leaving. The staff took the time to go out and find it and even mailed it to our home! We stayed overnight at the Gila Bend KOA and were impressed! Sites were spacious and clean. Looks like they even rake the gravel. Employees were very helpful, they even loaned us a cable for our overnight stay. We used the pool and it was heated to 89 degrees...so nice! We don't stay at a lot of campground type places, mostly just dry camping, but this was a place we would love to come back. To top it all off, we are active duty military and our night was free!
