The beer cheese and pretzel combo is probably in my top 10 in the Cincinnati area. They also have a delicious pineapple hefe. It's the only thing I drink when I go here. This chicken wrap was probably one of the most disgusting things I've ever had the displeasure of eating. It should be permanently removed from the menu. It should be called an onion with chicken wrap. They also have Trivia on Thursdays. The questions were so easy even a fifth grader could answer them. Wasn't much of a challenge. read more

Boy was I suprised! This little brewery just outside of Cincinnati is a must from me. They have lots of unique beer and even homemade seltzers. The pretzle was huge and their beer cheese was perfect to pair with it. The pizza was the star of the show. They do not short you on cheese and have cup n char pepperoni! Good service, really good beer (according to my husband) and from what we had last night - just ok food. And overpriced for the quality. We ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich, the Smoked Brisket sandwich and the Basket of Tots. The sandwiches are small for the price. The flavor was pretty good but it's just overpriced for the quality of the food. At least what we had last night. The tater tots were very overcooked. Some were burnt. They were dry and tasted gross. I wanted to send them back and we rarely/if ever send food back anywhere. But we decided to push through it. I found them nearly inedible. I picked through them and my husband ate the burnt ones. My husband likes the beer so we'll be back again and we'll try more. read more

Sons of Toil Brewing exceeded every possible expectation. My wife and I needed to get out of town for a weekend and booked a cabin with a hot tub in Hillsboro OH. We wanted somewhere to eat before getting to the house, so we stopped by this brewery because they had food, beer, and some gluten free options. Everything we tried was excellent. After the bartender let me sample several beers, I ordered their Pumpkin Porter, which was a great beer on a fall Friday night. I also enjoyed my second pour which I believe was a Marzen. My wife got to enjoy a few different Seltzer flavors on tap, which is always a bonus for a brewery to have. Then we got food. I ordered pork tacos and Mac and cheese because I didn't think the tacos would be enough, especially at a $10 price. I was wrong! The tacos were nice and full, requiring multiple bites. And the chips were a nice addition. I ate a few bites of the Mac and cheese, but brought the rest to the cabin to eat later. My wife's pizza was also great! And that was on a GF crust. I could only imagine how their regular crust must taste. We were in and out in less than an hour. The service was great and the people there were very nice to us. It was cold, but the atmosphere was inviting, and there was even live music being played. This was a great experience, and we will go back if we're in the area! read more

Went here with my husband and spent some time relaxing. For being so remote, it sure had a lot to offer. I loved the American porter, he loved the kolsh. We got a pretzel with beer cheese which was pretty good. Then we got a flight of the ciders which ended up being our favorite thing, and I am not huge on ciders. But I could drunk the apple or pineapple cider all day. Very nice staff as well. read more

Sons of Toil is an excellent brewery and pub in Mt Orab off Rt 32, 30 minutes outside of the eastern side of Cinci. The beers we had were fantastic! We did a tasting of the Dunkle, English Brown, Red, and American Porter. The Dunkle, Brown and Porter were especially good. They have tastings, small, regular and large servings, and a variety of growlers and bottles to take home. The food was tasty too! We'll be back! read more

I came out here to check out the brewery on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. I had always wanted to try their beer and they had a visiting food truck I was interested in. The property is quite extensive. There is the main indoor space where you order beer, a back porch, a side porch, a covered "tent" with electric, and then the "backyard" that feels like a state park. There are many seating options. There seems to be a lot of locals that are regulars. I wanted to try a flight and they asked me to fill out a "flight card" with my selections. I enjoyed all the beers I tasted and would definitely come back again not only for the beer, but for the atmosphere. For the first time I was very disappointed with Sons of Toil food service today. We ordered 3 orders of beef tacos which are served with nacho chips and salsa. Evidently they ran out of the chips so we were just served the tacos. No one bothered to tell us they were out of the chips or offer a substitute. Instead they were going to charge us full price for half of our meal. When I brought it to their attention they gave us a whole $1 a piece off our meal. We've given them many years of service and couldn't believe the way this situation was handled. Very disappointed. read more

If you live in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, you need to take a drive to one of the better breweries in the Cincinnati are. Sons of Toil only serves food during the week so I can't speak on that. They usually have food trucks on the weekend. The beer is the star at SOT, and they usually have 18 or more beers and ciders on tap. The beer is excellent. However I don't recommend getting a burger here. Got one recently and it tasted like meatloaf. They also do not make the delicious French fries anymore. You have a choice of tater tots which were not completely cooked. I was looking forward to having a delicious burger but that unfortunately was not the case. First visit EVER here. My husband and I were NOT disappointed. It is dog-friendly outside, the staff likes dogs. I got a couple of flights (1st was Kolsch, American Wheat, Pineapple Hefeweizen, Blackberry Stout. 2nd was English Brown Ale, Red Ale, Hefeweizen, Cara Cara Cream Ale). BOTH flights were good. I especially loved the Blackberry Stout. I also had their cheeseburger and fries, which were VERY tasty. I couldn't finish the burger, but it was somewhat juicy. This little brewery is a hidden gem. It had an extensive list of creative and tasty beers. It has one of the freshest and tastiest Hefeweizen beers I have had in a long time. Sons of Toil offers fights to taste the various beers, all brewed on location. You can get food and snacks at the food trucks that stop out front. There is a large tent and room for a really nice Biergarten in the summer. This has become one of our favorite places for a fresh craft beer! We visited during the new restrictions but what a cool place! I wish it was closer to our house, but it's about 45 minutes away. The staff was super friendly and were making the most of the new "normal". Lots of picnic tables in their lovely backyard. My beer was SO good, the mango habanero IPA, I would go back just for a growler of that. They also had a food truck onsite and a farmer's market on the Saturday we were there. This brewery/pub came highly recommended by friends who live in the local vicinity. So, three other friends of ours joined my husband and me this past Friday night as we explored Sons of Toil for ourselves. Believe me, it was well worth the 45 minute drive in order to get there from where we live. That's us in the picture, having a great time! This is an awesome place that offers a great selection of beer and even some hard cider. They do sell flights and offered tastings so you could make an informed decision for which kind you wanted to purchase. Their website is something to explore as well as it does give descriptions of the beers that they offer, along with some history of the brewery. They do not sell food themselves, but do have various food trucks on site so that you can enjoy a good meal to go along with whatever it is you decide to drink. The different food trucks rotate from one night to the next and offer high-quality food. All you have to do is go up to the food truck to place your order and they will bring it to your table and serve you. Prices are very reasonable for what you get! I really enjoyed Sons of Toil's Oatmeal Stout and their Coffee Porter. My husband really liked their Hefeweizen. We will definitely be going back soon and taking other family and friends. Sons of Toil is an interesting rural brewery located east of Mt. Orab in scenic Brown County. The brewery is housed in a large metal pole barn with the brewery on one end and the tap room on the other. Lots of beer options that includes the usual IPA's, kolsch, Flavored and dark beers. Tried a number. Really didn't find one I loved. Most are ok. The brewery is quite popular especially on weekends. Behind the building is a nice outdoor area with corn hole and other games. Very pleasant. Food trucks are on site mainly on weekends. Some good some not. Rather loud musicians play in the tap room. Forget conversations. Crank it down a bit boys. Nice owners. Plenty of parking. Worth a visit. Maybe someday I'll find that really good beer. read more
