Last night was the first time in a long time I have been insulted by the food alone at a restaurant. $15 for a limp pickle, cold fries, and possibly the worst Reuben Sandwich I have ever had in my life. Spouse and I have been here before and I was not impressed, but not bad enough to object tonight when they wanted to try it again. Thankfully I think tonight's assessment will keep me from throwing away more money at this place. This review is going to bounce around a bit so please bear with me, gentle reader. I am downright flabbergasted at The Audacity of this dinner. I'll start with the fries. Spouse's were fresh-ish, still warm with some texture to them. Mine were cold and sad from the start and I knew this was a harbinger for my whole plate when I saw that "[Brausch's] Style of a Reuben sandwich" came on Texas toast. I get it. You're not a strictly-sandwich place and you don't serve breakfast, rye bread might not move too fast. So you have two options: 1: Divulge the fact that "Your style" is on something besides rye bread, or (and this is probably better) 2: Take the cursed thing off your menu. Whoever was running the grill needs to know that you don't just dump a tablespoon of liquid margarine on a piece of bread, set it on the grill for 10 seconds and call it toasted. They should also know that sauerkraut is another traditional staple in a Reuben sandwich. I had to open up the sandwich to see if there was any- there is some. Not enough to taste. I noticed its texture as I tried to gnaw my way through the dinner-entree-thickness-sliced corned beef. Sorry I posted pictures of chewed up gristle y'all but this was EGREGIOUS. There is a chunk or two that didn't make the Final Cut of my pictures; this is most of it. I *think* I *may* have seen two drops of Russian/ 1,000 Island dressing. I sure didn't taste it. Ah yes, upon review I see what must have been the lone inclusion of said ingredient leaking out of the greasy, mushy Texas toast this... thing came out to me on. Welp this has gone on for far too long so I'm going to wrap it up by telling you to go across the street to Beaugard's or MC's because neither one of those places have ever disappointed me unlike this Fake News Reuben. read more

Amazing food, bad beer. For years they kind of struggled with the beer making but their food is outrageously good. I recommend the perogies, fish & chips, and the bavarian pretzel. If you're feeling disappointed that General Denver recently became cafeteria food, check this place out! read more

My husband and I took my Mom here to eat because I saw that they have Cheese Grits and Shrimp. She ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! She said it's the best she's ever had! My husband had the Fish and it was a huge piece! I had the Chicken Pasta and it was just spicy enough, yummy! I would highly recommend the drive to Wilmington! My husband and I started going to Brausch when it first opened, which I think was like 5 yrs ago. Back then, it was a building in repair, plus brewery. The owners have come a long way. When we visited, you got his freshly brewed beer and had to find your own food venues to bring with you if you wanted to eat. The restrooms were the old "stall style". Now they are updated and very nice. We try to visit as much as we can now. Since the addition of a full menu, great atmosphere and great service, the transformation has been a 180! I refer everyone I know to stop and enjoy what they have to offer! All the craftsmanship is done by the owners! Stop in to support a small business. It will not disappoint! read more

My husband & I stopped in here spur of the moment yesterday for dinner. The fish & chips are absolutely amazing! The BEST around IMO! My husband even complimented the coleslaw, which never happens. Great place to stop and enjoy a brew from a wonderful family brewer. We were able to get out and check out this little place. They are currently renovating, but that doesn't take away from enjoy the tasty brews. It is a large space with a whole lot of potential. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They treated everyone there like family and took the time to talk to the patrons not just serve them. I really like the family feeling. I think this might be a place to keep your eye on and watch as they grow the business. However I also like staying local and supporting family run and owned business. We found this place for a beer and lunch yesterday. The menu is pretty limited, but we had piroges and schnitzel. Both were excellent. Unfortunately, we chose beer poorly and started with their "dark and strong". It was FANTASTIC! The unfortunate part is several other of their lighter beers looked awesome as well but we blew out our pallettes with the tasty D&S. And then their was Tim, our server. After you figure out that he is the guy from Pawn Stars' doppelganger, he is a super nice guy and great server. He might even tell you a story if you let him. Please give these folks your business in this small town so they can continue to produce their excellent craft beer and food. read more

Food was great. I ordered an IPA it tasted greatly like a chemical. I quit drinking the IPA thinking it was the worst IPA in history. I ordered an extremely light beer honey based. It tasted exactly like the IPA. I then understood it was the disinfectant being used by the bartender they weren't rinsing the glasses appropriately. I thought about explaining this to him but figured he would think I was trying to get a reduction on my bill. I just paid and left with my tongue and corners of my mouth burning. But, the smash burger and fries were great! Ambiance was okay it looked like it catered primarily to locals. read more

We stopped here on the way home from Celtic Fest. It was a old Duff's Buffet building. No one was there but the bartender. It smelled so musty was not inviting at all. The dark beer was good though. read more

I tried the Dunkel, Belgian Tripel, Belgian Dubbel (Old Hickory), and the Quad. The beers were average, and none of them were great examples of their style of beer. The Belgian styles were missing the complexity of the malt and yeast character typical of Belgian styles, and they were under carbonated. The Dunkel could use more maillard character. read more

Has potential. The dark beer was good ended up taking a growler of or hickory home. The light beer was just ok. The building is just what you expect from an old buffet . If they get the support from the locals they have the room to expand. For right now it is a great place to play a free game of darts have a beer and take a growler home. They need a band that is local. Can't say that I wanted to sit and hang out. When you come in they have a board with places that deliver food. Just nice to see something different in Wilmington. I recommend stopping in and having a beer or two. Low stars for the ambiance and there was no ipa on tap. read more

Beers are good overall...great start!!! .. It may end up being better than good if the town supports the business. Very friendly owners, with a lot of their time and money invested. However, the space needs some work and fast...took over a space that sat empty for years and it smells and looks like it..if the place had been half decent, I would have given the place 4 stars for the beer, but not sure if they can survive in a place that people may not want to hang out in... 3 beers on tap right now...a dark lager - "Wilmington Lager" , a Bock (my favorite) and a Belgium ale (i believe) I didn't like it, so I didn't pay much attention to it or its name. Give it a try, we need to support a local business and especially a local brewery that could turn into a hidden gem if they fix the space... I am curious why they didn't go downtown?? but water over the dam... No food served...bring your own or order in from area places that deliver read more

Great Brews ! I'm a fan of the Wilmington ale and their "Red". Knowledgeable staff/owners Ignore the post by mark l. 9/19/16, yes it is in the old buffet location and NO it doesn't smell of old cigs. The mix of 2 beers mentioned is separately one each and is a Pnut-butter one and another a Chocolate flavored one and when combined makes a "Reeses cup" brew. ...and he is right, he isn't a "awesome brewer". Does the interior need some stuff done ? sure but in time this will happen, it takes alot of $$ to start something like this and it needs local and regional support. This is the closest brewery to where we live, so I was stoked to visit. They took over an old buffet restaurant and made some minor changes. There was quiet the mish-mash of furniture on the patio area, but I thought that might be the way they do things. Upon opening the door, we were met with a strong stale cigarette / musty smell. The place was pretty warm, and had nothing to really move air around. They had an option where you could sample all ten of their beers (although one was just a mix of two of the beers). We had one of their beers at a local restaurant and liked it. It would be the only one that I liked. Aside from not having great flavor, the beers seemed incomplete. Like they needed another step in the brewing process. I do not claim to be some awesome brewer, but I am pretty good at drinking beer and these beers challenged me. First impression: an old buffet style building with lots of space and has tons of potential. Upon entering the establishment, you could tell that it's an upstart. Bland decor, musty kind of smell and stuffy. Shuffleboard table to play, along with many board game options. They had 5 beers on tap, mostly lagers. Beers were alright, but nothing to brag about. From a beer standpoint, it almost seemed like they rushed into business too quickly. The beers were kind of dull and lacked flavor. More fine tuning of the recipes need to be done. But nonetheless, someone could stop bye this brewery and have a pint or two. Myself? I won't be visiting again until the horizons are broadened with more beer to try. If I were to open a brewery, I'd definitely have an IPA on tap. That's what people are looking for currently: hops. On a personable note, I tried to engage in conversation upon ordering a flight. I asked how long they'd been in business and was told three months by the owner/brewmaster. When I visit a brewery, I like to be able to get to know a little story behind their venture. I was never able to fully engage in conversation with him due to his direct attention to a friend at the bar. If I'm trying to sell someone on my business, and more importantly my beer, I'm going to engage with them in hopes of them being a repeat customer. Sidenote: me, my wife and our two friends were the only patrons in the establishment other than his friend at the bar and some other family/friends off to the side playing darts. All in all, they have a lot of work to do on: 1. the beers, 2. engagement with customers, and 3. sprucing the place up. I live in Dayton where breweries seem to be a dime a dozen. I also visit what breweries I can out of town to further my knowledge, and obviously, to try the beer. Props to the owner for opening up a small business in this climate.
