Living in Hawaii these days, I can not find anyone who knows how to properly use the large rollers. Walking into Angelica's I knew I was in good hands. The women were friendly and asked me a few pointed questions to make sure we were on the same page about what I wanted done. Since I was in for the basics, they sent me to the wash chair right away. From their to the style chair, I had rollers in and was under the dryer in 15 minutes tops. Now comes the excruciating part. If you know anything about rollers and dryers, you know what happens next. There is a lot of sitting and waiting and feeling the heat on your scalp. But I signed up for this and in order for my hair to be set properly and maintain without frizz, I know I need to let this happen, lol. After the chair, she blow dried my roots a little and I was out the door; looking amazing and the price was right. I can't remember exactly but it may have been $35, as priced on the length of my hair. Next time home, I will be back!

I had my hair washed, put in rollers, and using pins she was able to create the curls I wanted WITHOUT using a curler or flatiron which was what I wanted. Will be coming back again.

I've been to this hair braiding salon a few times against my best judgement. The people in…read moreFarrockaway have to travel far to get a professional style, that's why they go here. Unfortunately they are not professional and the ladies there ARE NOT stylist- they just know how to braid. It's like a hair- sweat shop. They braid extremely tight to the point you can feel and see your hair popping out from the root. After two weeks it still pulls when I try to put my hair in a ponytail. Three women were braiding my hair at once, pulling in all different directions. I wanted box braids that I can put into a high bun.but they're not braided the right way. Right now I have smooth spots on my head from the hair loss caused by these braids. I paid $140 for hair damage and alopecia. They don't care about your hair here they only care about the money. The prices change all the time. Save your money, hair follicles, and edges- go somewhere else.

Avoid this place like the plague! I came in requesting box braids. I usually go to Sahan African…read moreBraiding Salon on Merrick Blvd but I was between homework assignments and wanted to stay local. Anyway my cousin suggested this place and I wish I have never gone. The lady who did my hair was an older lady she did not seem very happy to be working on my hair. She debated the price with me initially but the owner I believe told her it would be $140 as I had already been clued in by my cousin who has much longer than I do. My hair is now relaxed and VERY thick and she decided it was a good idea to make the parts small which took 6* hours to complete. She braided mercilessly tight and did not take cues when I winced in pain. She stopped two times which I sort of understand. The first time she excused herself and came back quickly, the second time she disappeared for nearly 35 minutes and came back smelling like fish. It was very annoying. I've had my braids for 7 weeks and started noticing that my edges front and back were breaking off and the braided hair was hanging on to nearly nothing. I also saw white bulbs sticking out of the braid where my hair hand been pulled from its roots. I took one braid down and about 80% of my hair came off with it from an edge by my ear. There's no reason why my parts were made so small I have a lot of hair she could have saved herself the time and my edges, and used larger parts. I think that's common sense. Now that I've taken my braids out completely my hair is a tangled, matted mess (yes, I did detangle prior to with conditioner) and now I need to get a hair cut because it's pretty bad. Either my hair shed a whole lot over the last 7 weeks or this braider was careless because I lost a lot of hair just from shampooing. I'm no novice when it comes to haircarr, I've cared for my own natural and relaxed hair throughout my life because my hair has always been long and thick and stylists can be really terrible. I thought protective styles were supposed to preserve your hair not, cause damage. I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. If you need a braiding salon go to Sahan Braiding in Jamaica queens they are nicer, faster, and understand how to braid hair so that you're not bald when you take your braids down.

For all my curly hair Queens ! THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!…read more Before you read this you should know that If I can put insurance on my hair I most definitely would. I am super overprotective about my hair and I. D.o.n.t let anyone touch it. My last hair lady who did my highlights (I went to her the first time I ever dyed my hair and I continued going to her) she was good but the problem was the she was damaging my beautiful curls. My natural hair color is black and when I went back to her to touch up my highlights she would dye my hair all back to black again and then out the cap to create my highlights. Your face probably looks crazy as you read this but yes! Can you believe it ! Now I have long hair and I am TERRIFIED, PETRIFIED AND ABSOLUTELY SCARED OF SCISSORS! to the point that I hadn't trimmed my ends since last June! But a little curly hair angel heard my prayer and sent this Beautique my way! Jen is the absolute best! And Jen if you're reading this I absolutely trust you with my hair blindfolded (just no scissors) haha! Anywhos... I went for a consult and although my hair had gone through Hell Jen said that my hair was healthy and she wanted to do a color correction and length correction as well. The pics that are posted are a great before and after picture ! Crazy part is that my hair color didn't look so crazy because of the shrinkage. But anyways Jen really helped me ease my anxiety of being a first time customer. The color came out amazing and her attention to detail is simply amazing! If you want something done correctly and professionally then you have to also be ready to pay. As I said at the beginning of this post I'm very overprotective about my hair. My bank statements are all about my food and hair, so now you have a better idea! But anyways ... my old lady would charge me $80-90 to destroy my curls and this double process, treatment, blow out and VIP experience was $300. Let me tell you, well worth it and I'm so happy to know that my curls are safe and bounces at Blush Beautique!

This is a very un-ethical and unprofessional hairstylist. Her address is not the same as the phony…read moreaddress that she has on google. She has a random address to a supermarket. She has no morale and beware of entrusting your money with her let alone your hair. After speaking with her via facetime ($40 pd consult) Which I was very flexible she called me back about an hour after the appt and I still didn't mind. She informed me of a $2050 package (hybrid install k-tips i-tips/ wash and set and removal) and her showing me the different hair textures via Facetime. She explained that a $250.00 deposit was required for the package and so later that afternoon: I instead Zelled her $300 (so as to lower the remaining balance amount, which we agreed would be paid on the install day that was TBD) She explained to me that she doesn't color the customers hair only color matches the extensions. Therefore, because I wanted a Balayage on my hair we agreed that I would reach out to her once I dyed my hair elsewhere so that she can then do the extension color matching.. I then sent her a picture of my new hair color and she stated that she would get started on the hair matching.. Therefore, I didn't think there would be any further discussion on the hair topic other than setting a date for the install, once she also confirmed that she had color matched the itip extensions.. So I reach out to her three days after to confirm whether she had an idea as to when the hair would be ready and reiterating the fact that I needed assurance that she could match the extensions exactly to my hair color and if not that I didn't mind taking the extensions to my colorist so that she can color them) She stated that the extensions would be $400.00 more and she confirmed that she (had not dyed them and I was glad because the sample of haircoloring that she showed me on her website was not my style nor did she have any example close to a Balayage).. and that she was open to this option. I later reached out to my colorist and after discussing the charge with her I decided it was best that I not proceed with neither job... I sent her a text informing her that I didn't want to proceed with her service any longer and therefore requested my deposit back. She explained that she would get the $300 sent back to me the next day.. I am still waiting.. Since then she has not replied to my text messages nor phone calls. She is truly speaking to her integrity, because if she had some form of integrity she would have retuned my deposit immediately because she has seen that I even had the trust to not send her $250 but $300 and via Zelle.. She is speaking to her lack of professionalism and integrity and for a so-called stylist that has services ranging up to $1,000 per install it looks like her keeping my money is personal at this moment.
