I had to make my first appointment with his physician's assistant as he is so popular, he's booked for months. So I saw his PA and she was great! She had already read my history and all about what was going on with me! It was so nice seeing someone that was on top of my medical concerns. She said I needed more tests and that Dr Eidem would be the one to perform any additional tests/scopes. So I scheduled an Endoscopy for the following Friday. When I arrived at the clinic everyone was very sweet. When I finally got to meet Dr. Eidem, he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail about what he was going to do and how he was going to take care if it. He allowed me to ask questions and I didn't feel rushed at all, he's very patient and caring. When he performed the scope he was very thorough and took samples of anything he thought MAY be a problem, but thought everything was great. He's just that thorough that he sends in samples to be sure everything really is ok. So Dr Eidem is great! If you need a Gastroenterologist in the Plano area, he is your man!

Even a capsule endoscopy failed to aid this doctor in diagnosing an ailment which--while not particularly common--is very familiar to those specializing in pathologies of the GI tract. It wasn't until my parent was hospitalized and under the care of a different GI specialist that a diagnosis was finally rendered and the problem properly treated, providing my parent with enormous relief. The hospital GI specialist had fewer years of experience, yet was able to figure out in a few hours the problem my parent had that eluded Dr. Maddala for well over a year. Happily, the hospital GI doctor--who is genuinely caring and on top of her game--is now my parent's new GI specialist. Under this new doctor, my parent's health has shown remarkable improvement, and appointments with this GI doctor are looked-forward-to. Dr. Maddala's clinical stance towards my parent's condition, by contrast, was one of non-urgency & disinterest which bordered on indifference. This is not to say Dr. Maddala won't work for you, but, in my parent's case, we weren't impressed.

It was never discussed that she would be using an out-of-network provider fees for this procedure, and never would have done the colonoscopy with her had I known everything was going to be charged out of network. Other than the billing issues, this Dr didn't seem concerned with getting to the actual root of the problem and just expected me to take laxities the rest of my life, which I'm not about to do. Yes that's a business decision to demand my deductible balance for her Physician surgical fee. Have you used a stapler? You don't need colorectal surgery and anesthesia for the procedure. In Dallas, two different board-certified gastro costs for the same exact thing - $60. Yes, she is in network. This isn't rocket surgery or COLORECTAL SURGERY - give me a break.
