I started getting weak and had to postpone our return to Cupertino. Being 80, I did not want things to get worse so went to Urgent Care of Texas, Plano. Dr. M. Bhallia took my vitals which were fine. No covid, flu or RSV. He gave me an I-V with antibiotics and some med prescriptions. He also gave me a prescription for a chest x-ray for next AM. The results of the x-ray showed signs of pneumonia in right lung. I had to go back to Urgent Care for another I-V with 2 shots. This was Wed. Nov. 8. I felt a bit stronger and felt capable of managing the flight that evening to Cupertino. I was impressed with the service, respect and care I received from Dr. Bhallia and his staff Syeda and Ayeshe. The clinic is well equipped, clean, and comfortable. I am thankful to have chosen Urgent Care of Texas in Plano. They took excellent care of me so I could return back to Cupertino Thank you, all.

Finding a doctor who actually takes the time to understand how a specific medication will mesh with your lifestyle and body is rare. She's incredibly thorough and has been very accessible via the patient portal whenever I had follow-up questions. The nursing staff also deserves a shout-out. They are wonderful and very understanding. During my last visit, one of the nurses gave me some great, practical tips for managing my allergies, even sharing what works for her own kids, which I really appreciated. The Cons: My initial experience was a total nightmare due to insurance hurdles. While that isn't the fault of the practice itself (third-party insurance is the absolute worst), it definitely made the start of my journey here rocky. More recently, they've implemented a new sign-in sheet process. Since this was a change from previous visits, I mistakenly thought it was only for new patients. When the front desk clerk asked me to sign in, she responded with a confused look and a bit of a rude tone. It was a minor friction point, but a little more patience for returning patients adjusting to the new workflow would go a long way!

I thought it was a rite of passage at 50 years old. Even then, I skipped the procedure because the Covid lockdown was in full effect and all anyone ever talks about is the horrible preparation for the procedure. I opted for the poop-in-a-box instead of the real deal. After the Covid lockdown was lifted, it became impossible to ignore this. Plus, since I wasn't working, I actually had time to deal with the preparation. The administrator that handled my case was very professional, empathetic, but also very persistent. She was not going to let me back out, and frankly I needed this dedicated individual to answer my questions and keep me on target to completion. She was available to answer my questions, no matter how ridiculous or improbable or mundane they might of seemed. Generally she didn't answer the phone, but she was always good about calling me back and giving me the time and attention I needed. The procedure only happens on Mondays and Thursdays. I had to book several weeks in advance. When I got Covid and wanted to cancel, she wouldn't let me. When I told her my fears about the preparation solution, she offered me tablets instead of the unusual tasting liquid. When I had trouble getting the prescription tablets filled at my pharmacy, she rerouted my prescription to a pharmacy that was able to fulfill my request and mail them to me. When I shared my fears about being on a low fiber diet in the days leading up to the procedure, she calmly offered suggestions and helped me come up with a working meal plan. I never did meet this woman, but she is the only reason I was able to get through this procedure successfully. The clinic staff are separate from the administrative people, so you will have to fill out forms again while you wait in the lobby. Once your name is called, the people in the procedure area are all old hats at this. They will go through everything at lightening speed. In fact, since I was without food, water, and sleep, I couldn't think clearly, and consequently, I had trouble understanding them when they spoke so quickly. If there was one thing I would change, it would be asking the staff to slow down just a little. Also, share the medical history from the administrative forms I previously filled out with the procedure staff so that I don't have to do it from memory in a tired and unfueled state. Other than that, everyone was very kind and professional. Despite my fears, they took good care of me. The final report was provided that answered all of my questions. The doctor and nurse did talk to me after the procedure to let me know how everything went, but when you are coming out of anesthesia, it is hard to remember the details. The report had colored pictures of my colon. It was well diagrammed so that you could identify the different internal parts. This report was also sent digitally through the secure portal with the final notes and biopsy results. Depending on your insurance, there may be separate costs for facility charges, anesthesia, and any special tasks that are performed during the procedure, like removing polyps. Because of this, it might be hard to get an exact cost up front. Afterwards, you might be receiving multiple bills from different entities. I hate this! It really should be coordinated and provided to the patient on one bill to rule them all, but such is the status of healthcare in America. Thankfully I don't have to return for a decade. Hopefully in that time, the medical profession will find new ways to screen for colorectal cancers that aren't so invasive or anxiety producing. If not, well, I would certainly trust this establishment with my care again.

This is our experience:…read more Prescribed father meds for a sore on his foot that had instructions for putting in eyes My mother didn't get her cough prescription so had to call Dr and make another trip to pharmacy I was missing one of my prescriptions, again had to call and make another trip to pharmacy xray results require a visit to review Lab results require a visit to review Prescriptions sent to wrong pharmacy Prescription was to take 1/2 pill but we were given capsules not tablets No refills on any prescriptions -only 60 days then need another appointment Over an hour wait when we had appointments Asked for home care for father and was told we need to make another appointment which turned out to be a referral for physical therapy (Dr had just seen him already recently) Don't see all medications on portal Father saw her 7x in 4 months - initial exam, lab review, knee pain, 3 month follow up, lab review, back again for knee, then required a visit again for home health care referral Simple portal message would have been sufficient instead of all these appointments. I went in for a prescription and told Dr I don't want it prescribed for 1 month when new insurance kicked in. When I called a month later for prescription, was told I needed another appointment! Of course I wasn't able to complete the paperwork by 5pm the day before my appointment due to work, picking up my child, and needing to get home at a decent time in traffic. If I was informed prior to the day before my appointment that I needed to fill out the paperwork by 5 pm then that would have been different. But whoever was texting me was rude, unprofessional, and disgusting. I confirmed that I was attending my appointment prior to 5pm and planned on doing my paperwork once I got home. I will be looking for care elsewhere.

Also, I was informed most of her appointments are taken by the PA who has "been with them for several years" and "does everything the doctor does." This is "their normal practice" apparently. I've never heard of such a thing. I asked if it was considered a "doctor's visit" if it was with the PA, and was informed that yes, yes it is. Huh? So why isn't the PA the MD then? Because the PA is *not* an MD... why are we paying a premium for a PA visit? I've visited multiple doc offices before and have had the pleasure of working with their PA's, but NEVER before working directly with the MD/specialist first and certainly throughout my care. Very disappointed after reading all the positive reviews about this place.

Just a few down side issues...there is a charge if you miss your appointment, even if it's an emergency. However, the doctor worked with me on this fee & waived it. The billing / coding on a visit was also entered in incorrectly and I was billed from my insurance company. But the office corrected it, and took care of it after I contacted them. It's nice to see that they can correct errors & look at policy. I would recommend getting rid of the no show fee, it's very high and things happen. Overall, very pleased and would recommend.
