Local cleaners been here for years. I went in for alterations to a romper and a satin pants. I tried on both items for her to mark and pin. Came to $38 dollars and she wanted cash. My romper is not altered evenly in the hip area but I needed the item for the same day for an event. As she was writing my ticket up she asked when was I due? I said I'm not pregnant she said oh not much of an apology. The day before I was to pick up she called and said your pants have a lining in it it will be $6 more. I said leave it I'll take it somewhere else. I went to collect my items and she said I didn't know it had a lining. I said did you not measure it for alterations? I said are you not the seamstress? It's not my fault you didn't evaluate the item properly. Then I said you want to charge me more after you've insulted me is appalling. I said I'll take my item elsewhere. Why did she cut the pants with the lining called me after the fact. So I checked in on Yelp as I stood there and she said don't worry I'll fix it pick up tmw. I have taken my pants and suit coats to Sunny for many years. I've had nice Italian suits alterred and she knows the right fit for me. Recently I had my tuxedo pants from 1987 wedding (!) modified by narrowing the leg while giving me another inch in the waist. Perfect. The location is not ideal for me, now that I'm in Balt City, but worth the drive. Five Stars, in my mind. read more

I've visited the store before and had military uniform alterations done over a year ago. I was pleased with my previous experience so I decided to revisit with some shirts that needed ranks sewn on. The hours are stated at 10 am - 6 pm. I arrived in the parking lot at about 9:50 to wait for the store to open. It remained closed until someone arrived at around 10:10am. I'm assuming it was Sunny. She backed in near the entrance and proceeded to unlock the door, go inside, raise the blinds on the door window & remove the "Closed" sign. I started grabbing my items to walk over when I got out of the car she was already leaving. I walked over to the door because I thought she may have been moving her vehicle to a different spot, but she was gone. The door was locked and no one was inside. There was a man who worked at the Barbershop on the adjacent building who walked over to tell me that he saw her lock the door and drive off. I waited for 10 more minutes before leaving around 10:20am. I tried calling several times during the day and no one answered the phone either. I'm unsure of the purpose of showing up late just to make your business appear to be open before leaving. But, I won't be returning. That was a ridiculous waste of my time and customer service does not appear to be a priority. Best of luck! read more

Delayed on posting this review but I went to Sunny to have a bridesmaid's dress tailored (taken in) and hemmed. Gave Sunny about 3 weeks to complete the work. When I arrived to pick the dress up, the dress did not fit (too small). Sunny kept suggesting that it was something on my end (suggesting weight gain) as the reason why the dress did not fit...however when I ordered the dress 5 months prior, it was too big, it was too big when I received it 2 months later and was too big when I took it Sunny a month later to have tailored so, it just didn't seem likely to me that any significant weight gain could have happened in three weeks when the dress had been big for months. However Sunny insisted that it was weight gain related so she said she would add fabric to the dress to make it fit. I was hesitant about this because if my theory was right and that it wasn't weight gain related but more so an improper tailoring job, adding fabric will make the dress too big again. However due to being pressed for time, I allowed her to add fabrics to the dress. I came back a few days later and just as I suspected what would happen, happened...the dress was too big. Now I'm frustrated and even more pressed for time, the wedding was days away at this point so I just had to accept the dress as is because it's better to have a dress that will zip vs. one that doesn't zip. I was not happy that the dress was not able to be tailored in the way that we had discussed when I first dropped the dress off. I felt like I essentially paid to have the dress hemmed and not taken in...although I was charged for both. Had I known that she was not going to be able to execute taking in the dress, I would have just asked to have the dress hemmed and left the taking in of the dress alone and not wasted my money. read more

I have been taking all of my clothes to Sunny for many, many years. You would never know she was there because she is tucked away on the backside of a little strip mall. However, she is truly a hidden treasure! I am very short, so pretty much everything I buy needs to be altered. Whether I pin it up myself and take it to her, or I try it on and she pins it for me, she always does a wonderful job and it is always a perfect hem. Sunny is very knowledgeable and can help you to determine the perfect length for a dress so that it hits you in the most flattering places, or pants, so they fall right where they look the best. She does all of this while making sure to ask about your family, no matter how long it has been since you have seen her. She remembers all of her customers and treats you like family! So, never hesitate to buy something that you truly love because it doesn't fit you quite right. Simply take it to sunny and she will make it fit you perfectly! read more

I have been coming to Sunny's for over a year now, with everything from professional business clothing items to military uniforms. The shop itself was a little hard to find the first time because the entrance is actually on the side of the building, which you can't see from the main road. However, if you park in the neighboring Walgreen's parking lot it's quite clear (photo included). The interior of the shop is very small, and no-nonsense. If you're looking for a shop to feel fancy in this is not the one ... if you're looking for a skilled, knowledgeable tailor with reasonable turn around times and good results however, Sunny is the one! I recently brought in a pair of slacks that was unraveling at the hem thinking to pick them up in a few days, but Sunny took a quick glance at them and waved her hand dismissively and said "no no - you wait" she sat down and sewed them up in less than 30 seconds, handed them back and said "no charge". Every time I'm here it feels like dropping by my mom's house lol. Pro tip: Brownie points available if you speak Korean - even if all you can say to her is "hello". Bottom line: homey shop with an experienced owner and solid results. Definitely recommend. read more

Sunny never disappoints pants + bridesmaid dress tailored right and good prices. I'm a short girl so pants for me are my main thing. I had some pants that fit my waist but were too long and more boot cut then skinny leg she was able to tighten them just right to knee and below and hem them. She is also nice and meets the deadline she provides. read more

Miss Sunny is such a nice lady. Unfortunately, when we needed alterations and she had a lady helping. Ugh. I had a gut feeling to stay away, but my husband needed the pants. He had multiple pins because she was doing such a bad job. Sunny was just not really paying attention to what she was doing. Of course when the pants were ready they were a disaster. We had to go back not once but twice. I'm pretty sure that with Sunny doing this herself we wouldn't have a problem. Hopefully she has since fully recovered and tending to her business on her own. First off, this lady is absolutely adorable! I recently have accumulated a lot of garments that are way to long from a Lilly Pulitzer sample sale. Anyone who doesn't know Lilly garments or anything about the brand, just understand that they are expensive and people buy garments and fabricated items just to resell them for 120% markup after retail and also to redesign them into "unique" items for a fortune just because people love the brands prints and patterns so much. With that said... I decided that I shouldn't hem these myself (I have been sewing for 7 years) since I haven't had much experience with tons of different fabrications, specifically crochet and lace. So I went to the ultimate database for posting questions: FaceBook. I have about four people tell me to go to Sunny's Alterations. The next day I brought her 8 items: 2 pants and 6 dresses. She greeted me right when I came in and dropped everything she was doing to give me her 100% attention. After trying everything on and having her pin the clothing I was out in about 25 minutes. Four days later I came back and everything was done perfectly. For 13 garments it cost me $80.00. Which I think is great since I have worn everything she fixed at least twice now and it saved me tons of time doing it myself and maybe even saving me from destroying them. I will be back! read more

I've taken Sunny about ten items of clothing and everything has turned out well. I most recently dropped a formal dress to have it shortened and she was able to do it within 4/5 days, even being prom dress season. This dress cost me $28. read more

A few months back I would have rated this great. Now I feel much differently. When I arrived to pick up pants I had dropped off for alteration, Sunny couldn't find them. Instead of admitting that she had temporarily lost the pants she started claiming that I already picked them up. That was incorrect. She directed me, the customer, to search my house for them. I humored her and did so. Of course a search of my house didn't turn up the pants because she had never given them back to me. When I called her back to tell her the pants weren't in my house she yelled at me and went on and on about having a "pink" receipt. She repeatedly said that because she had a pink receipt that meant I had picked up the pants. I assured her that was not the case and implored her to look harder for my pants. A day or two later she called to tell me that she had in fact found the pants at her office. She did not offer a single word of apology for previously implying I was lying when I said I hadn't picked them up. It was as if she expected me to congratulate her for finding my pants....the pants that *she* had lost and accused me of lying about. I'll never do business with this place again. read more

I have been going to this place since I've been in Maryland she is very familiar with military uniforms and her turnaround is always within a day or two and a whole lot cheaper than alteration places on base.... I highly recommend this place. read more

I took my wedding dress to sunny and she did a great job altering my dress! Can't even tell It I was ever shortened.

Nice lady, but not sure if she knows what she is doing. She altered my suit jacket and possibly messed it up for good. I can't see what needs to be done in the back of my jacket when I have it on, so I relied on her for that. After all she is a Tailor. I come in to pick up my jacket and the top part in the back is bunching up. So she says that I didn't say to fix that. Really! I asked her the first time to fix what needs to be fixed. So I leave the jacket there so she can fix it, with an extra charge mind you. When I come back for the second time it is still not fix and she says that is all she can do and charged me for it. She kept pulling it down in the back like that was going to fix it. So now I am taking my business elsewhere and sticking to where I know they will do it right the first time. The tailor at that place said because of the way she fixed it, it may be a little tight in the shoulders after she is done. That was a $400.00 suit. Fingers crossed that the other tailor can make it work. read more
