The chicken cutlet on the club sandwich was so flavorful, and we were lucky to catch the chef's award-winning chili verde that day, and it was DELICIOUS. It's no surprise it was featured in Brian Baumgartner's (Kevin from The Office) chili cookbook and has repeatedly won awards at The Meadowlands! The clam chowder and fish taco special were tasty too, and we loved the homemade vinaigrette and candied walnuts on the grilled chicken salad. If we had one critique, we thought that the burger was a bit well-done for our liking. The shortbread cookies we had for a treat were sooo good - served chilled and with a chocolate filling, my mom said they reminded her of Magic Middle's from when she was a kid. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to stop here too much because I'm not often off from work during the week, and they're only open during the week, but I'll try to make another visit when I can!

Let's get to business!…read more So this pizza place is newest location to open up in this spot. Before that, we had Belden Ave. Pizza and Elvira's Pizza. I visited this place once before when it was the latter of those two, docking a star because I had only had one successful order from them in 3 attempts. Honestly, I wanted to give them another shot at a higher rating after the initial review in 2025, but it closed down before I could ever get the chance. Now in its place, we have Pappas Pizza, a pizza joint that had been in business since 1960 and has another location in Stamford. Honestly, if you've ever been an in-person customer for Belden Ave. or Elvira's, you've already been in here regardless of whether you've been in under this name or not. Another thing about Pappas to note is that the Stamford location currently holds a 3.1 on Yelp, indicating it's gotten mixed reviews since it's been in business. Think of a movie that's gotten say about a 50 Metascore, or a movie that is on the cusp of being fresh or rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, and that's basically what this pizzeria rates as a business if Stamford's anything to go off of. Anyway, while I have been meaning to go in person here, I settled for an UberEats order today. You can see what I ordered on one of the photos attached to this review. But spoiler alert, they got several things in my order wrong! Let's start with the calzone. As you can see in the photo of the calzone itself, they included the marinara sauce. When I ate the calzone, there was no red pepper. Now look back to the photo that says what was supposed to be in my order. It clearly states "Roasted Red Peppers" as well as "No Side Marinara". Already we're not off to a good start. Crazy thing is, the calzone was actually the best part of the meal! The calzone itself was crispy, cheesy, and the pepperoni and bacon were seasoned very well here! This makes me think the calzones here would actually be a wonderful recommendation as long as you stick to the basics. While the marinara sauce didn't undermine the calzone, the fact the marinara was even there to begin with already tells me they didn't follow directions. But hey, I get it. This was a big order, and I was starving when my food arrived to work, so maybe it was just that! Let's move on to the loaded hot dog. At first, it looks like a well-loaded hot dog that was cooked well-enough to my liking. While the hot dog was indeed flavorful enough and won't turn my stomach ache into a gastric exorcism, it wasn't perfect either. Again, let's look at the photo that had my order list on it. In clear words, this said "No Ketchup". So as I ate the glizzy, I noticed something a little... red? I dipped my finger in the red stuff, certain that this was just a mistake. Ketchup. Weird. I took another dip. Ketchup again. Strange! I did not ask for ketchup. I KNOW I did not ask for ketchup on my dog. I needed one taste more to confirm. Yep! They frickin' put ketchup on my hot dog when I did not ask for it! I can overlook them putting in marinara sauce if that was the only thing they messed up on. I canNOT overlook the ketchup! We're already on Strike Two! Next, we need to look at the hot honey. Umm... What hot honey exactly? Does hot honey normally look like and have the consistency and texture of whatever lab experiment I'd received today? Now, to be fair, there WAS supposed to be mustard in the order somewhere, but that was for the hot dog which I had already docked for the ketchup, so already this review is looking worse and worse. But in the container was something that looked and tasted like a hybrid of mustard and sriracha, orange in color. Hot honey is supposed to have the texture and consistency of syrup, and is supposed to be more of a see-through amberish liquid, mixed with some kind of chili flakes for a subtle spice added on to it. IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ORANGE MUSTARD/SRIRACHA! There was also the cheesecake and an Orange Fanta. At least those two didn't get mixed up, but it's not too much of a consolation. The cheesecake wasn't bad, but Norwalk definitely has better cheesecakes elsewhere. It'll do if you're starving, but that's about all the praise I can give for it as the bottom was soggy even compared to other desserts I've had to wait an hour plus to start eating. What's saddest about writing this review? Even though Elvira's was only able to make me what I ordered once out of three attempts, they at least got it right and actually gave me hot honey for the calzone I had back in 2025 that one time. Pappas overall does not have bad food. That's not the problem. But luckily for all of us I don't have any allergens. Can you imagine how bad this would be if they messed up this bad for someone who had allergies? I get this is a new location and I should cut it a slight bit of slack, but if this place doesn't get their act together, they are going to kill someone on the wrong day!
