Santini's still makes one of the top pies in Connecticut. It's Greek pizza at its finest. I wrote a 5 star review on another thread and my opinion of their pizza has not changed. Santini's pizza is right up there with the best. It may even be the best. It's definitely in my top 2 of all time. The cheese, the sauce and the sausage, all spot on delicious. I have ordered delivery from this place on a number of occasions. I will admit that the first time was because they were the only pizza shop that delivers and is open on Monday. My subsequent orders were because I have become a fan of their pizza. The delivery was fast and accurate and each time the delivery driver gave me a very sincere thanks for my business, very refreshing! The prices are also very reasonable. Now as for the pizza, if you are looking for NY, New Haven or even Italian style pizza, that is not what they serve. Their pizza is more Greek style. I've never really liked Greek style pizza for two main reasons, the crust is basically like a glorified toasted white bread, and the pies are usually dripping with grease. Santini's pies do have the Greek style crust, which I have grown to enjoy (but still can't compare to the aforementioned styles), but they thankfully do not have the grease. The best way to judge the quality of a pizza is to try their plain cheese. Santini's cheese pie is very tasty. The sauce is good and the amount of cheese is average. An added bonus is that the pie is good both hot, and cold! Where they really shine is their specialty pies, the toppings are excellent, and quite abundant! The pies I have gotten were loaded with toppings. These pies were also good both hot and cold. I have tried a number of their appetizers, and, though good and not overcooked, their fried appetizers are browned a bit darker that they should be (a nit-pick). The staff I have spoken to are very friendly and courteous. A pleasure to speak with, and as mentioned, their delivery driver is sincerely thankful. I should also mention that they offer coupons on their website that are great values! I'm a fan of their food even with the unremarkable (but still good) crust, and I will continue to be a customer. read more

Santini's pizza rivals New Haven, and I mean that sincerely; It's right up there with Frank Pepe's and Modern Apizza even though it's Greek pizza instead of coal fire. Anyway, the sauce hits all the right notes on your palate. The sausage Santini's uses is a high quality great bite, and they put the right amount of cheesy goodness on the pie...(motz to die for). Also, the crust is soft and chewy like a pretzel with the right amount of crunch. Moreover, this pizza had zero flop, which means a great undercarriage. Furthermore, I have to let you know, I used to eat here at Santini's twice a week when I lived in Ansonia years ago, and all I can say (with the highest praise) is, "I miss eating here on a regular bases." We tried this pizza place tonight because we got a menu in our mailbox. I wish they'd sent one years ago! Pizza- delicious. Gyros- delicious. Fries- crispy and tasty. I love that there are gyros on the menu for when someone doesn't feel like having pizza. Everything arrived hot and really quickly- within 30 minutes. Most places take so much longer around here. The pizza is top notch. Unfortunately I strayed and decided to try a chicken parm sub. anyine thats ever cooked knows that meat cooked in a microwave has a foul texture and is like chewing tree bark. I called to register this complaint as a customer of over a decade just for the woman to twll me she is sure it was cooked in a pan and theres nothing they can do about it they are busy and hung up. So if you want microwaved meat go to santinis. You want a good chicken parm sub dont go to santinis. Id give it 1/10 of a star if I could for the rudeness. read more

This review is for pizza and customer service only. I've developed a preference for New Haven style pizza, but I occasionally crave Greek style. I have several pizza options within a half mile to two miles from my home. I opt to drive a few extra miles to Santini's because of their customer service. They are always friendly and give a genuine Thank You for my patronage, versus the typical disinterested/annoyed employee I frequently encounter when I pick up a pizza. We ordered an order of chicken tenders with fries, and a medium white pie with broccoli and chicken. The pizza was not that great for a $35 order. The top of the pizza wasnt flavorful and super doughy. I called to let them know. I was told that the pizza was beautiful and never had any complaints before. Don't know why i keep going back there. The pizza is great if you just want a cheese pizza but i ordered bacon and garlic with extra cheese and got bacon bits, couldn't taste any garlic at all and minimal extra cheese. They just don't get the extra cheese thing!! The butterfly shrimp and jalapeno poppers are good. read more

All I have to say about this place is stay away from the #12 specialty...the buffalo chicken pizza. I've had this kind of pizza from other places and it was nothing like what I got from Santini's. I did not expect the sauce to be made up 100% of tear-your-ass-up hot sauce. Plus...where is the cheese? I couldn't even identify the chicken as chicken. It looked and felt more like sliced potatoes. Wtf? It's a good thing I also ordered a side of cheesy garlic bread or we would have gone hungry last night. Neighborhood favorite! Traditional gyros are excellent. Pizzas always hot and tastes even better as leftovers.

This place has gotten worse and worse over the years. Last night we ordered 2 gyros and they were both burnt to a crisp and SO MESSY! Who do they have wrapping their food over there now?! Pizza had almost NO CHEESE on it and was also BLACK on the bottom. Way over cooked! Awful. Time to close up the shop, even placing an order is a big issue these days, you can barley understand them on the phone, there's always someone screaming in the background. read more

Ordered from them for the first time last night and the food was amazing. I ordered a medium meatball calzone instead of a small because I figured it would be tiny like most other places. Boy was I wrong. The calzone was literally the size of a medium pizza box. It wasn't greasy at all and it was hot. They gave me three big cups of marinara sauce too. My girlfriend ordered a ham and cheese grinder. The bread was so fresh it was like they just made it right then and there. The ham was amazing and they give a good amount. The prices are very fair and the delivery time was 22 minutes when they said it could take 40 minutes. And this was during dinner time. This will definitely be our go to take out going forward. Santini's has really gone down hill throughout the years. Just stick to pizza and salad guys!!! Not happy at all
