Some of the pieces I feel could be a bit better, however these are designer brands and the condition of all of the clothes were in good condition. Some of the shoes were questionable. There was so much wear on since of the bottoms of the shoes (size 11 specifically) that it was odd how they were even selected to be sold here. This may be because of limited inventory at the time, but the price seemed inflated considering the condition of some of these items. I wish they had a better selection of size xl and up but again, they're at the mercy of the inventory that they receive. Still, I managed to get a nice pair of Mignonne Gavigan earrings so I'm pleased.

Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. I'll keep giving it another chance because Clotheshorse has been one of my favorite Dallas shopping destinations for a very long time.

I was greeted politely and directed around the corner to the back, where the appraiser is located. That day, my interaction with that lady was uncomfortable. She had a condescending tone and a bad attitude. She even said one of my items was "jacked" and refused to take it. Overall, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person.

I thanked her profusely, and walked home to show off my purchases to my bf. Duly impressed, he reminded me that it was time for me to go back to work. Oh no. I couldn't find my keys anywhere. We tore up the house for a while, and found spare keys dating back to 2011. Just not MY keys. They have to be at the store. Finally, I had the presence of mind to look for a phone number (only after I'd already run back down the street to see if she was still there -- all locked up.). She answered, and said she hadn't noticed them. Upon hearing the panic in my voice, she offered to come back downtown and look. She had already driven away! It's her thanksgiving break! I felt terrible, but I needed those keys. Fear not, my keys and I were reunited. She was unbelievably gracious about my mistake, even apologizing for not having looked around before closing. A review for a boutique should emphasize the product. Ohmygoodness these clothes are perfect. And the jewelry. And the hats. Clearly, I HAD to make a special trip just to buy a present here. Also, though, let's all support the heck out of a just plain good person who happens to have a VERY fashionable boutique in the affordable clothes- hungry world of downtown Dallas.

My last visit was terrible disappointment. I was in a hurry to find a dress to wear that evening for dinner and drinks at the Ritz. I was in a hurry and quickly bought a dress with sequence. When I got home and truly inspected the dress, I noticed that it was missing some sequence pieces, and it just looked plain cheap and tacky. There is no way I was going to wear that to the ritz. What an embarrassment!! I refuse to wear the dress. It was a final sale, so they would not exchange it or work with me store credit. I left this unwearable dress and they kept my $50. Poor, very poor customer service for someone who wants to shop and support local business. It is a shame that they were unwilling to work with me in spite of their poor quality product. As a resident, I always suggest their place as a go to for clothing. I will no longer. They were not willing to work with a loyal customer, so I will take my business and recommendations elsewhere.

Debbie was extraordinarily helpful, figured out my taste quickly, and made the whole experience fantastic. I walked in hoping for 1 cute new top to start my shopping for the day and instead walked out with 2 tops, 2 sweaters, a pair of pants, a dress, a scarf, and a couple of headbands. I'm set with my capsule for this season! Christy M is perfect for a cute mom who needs to transition away from all the teenage boutiques in the area but doesn't want to settle for big chain stores. My mom and I came together and she was able to find items and I was able to as well. We were warmly greeted by the staff and watched a little bit, honestly, but they were nice to help us out. The store itself has a nice selection of home goods as well as women's clothing and accessories. Some of their clothing is on the more expensive side, but in the back area they have a large selection of discounted items. The staff was very welcoming and super helpful. They were able to help me find everything I was looking for and even answer some of my questions about the best way to take care of my new pieces. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back to check out some of their new items!
