Even my sister has said the same thing every time. when we would leave the store "there is some really ugly stuff in that store". Which is out opinion BUT... Today was a whole different experience I found a lot of cute clothes this time around spent almost $200 and got a lot of items that I'm really happy with Thank god they fired the old purchasing employee I'm not sure if that's what happened but the store was full of cute items this and I will be going back soon to finish what I started. ( I still had 2 more rows to dig through. lol I ran out of time to shop today Also a couple of years ago I went through my closet and gathered up alit of cute designer clothes and a lot of shoes (almost 60 pairs of shoes ). Most of them were brand new never been worn I was alittle disappointed on the girl only picking a couple of shirts and 3 pairs of Nike tennis shoes from my pile. So I was detetemed not to bring all that back to my closet so I dropped all the remaining things off at goodwill down the street. They were VERY happy for the donation I was in disbelief she didn't buy anything else from my pile But oh well I at least got a tax write off from goodwill

There's no way to know this unless you call ahead or show up. - I found 2 pairs of shorts and 1 pair of jeans that I like. - Lots of old, dingy graphic tees and shoes (thrift store level). Not anything I would want to purchase over $5. - Small section of larger sizes (XL+). I go back every few weeks and often see the same thing - not much new. - I wish they had baskets or something to shop with. - Styles feel like they're for an older demographic. I probably won't return once I use my credit.

I got there right as the owner was locking up for the Thanksgiving holiday. Without batting an eye, she opened the store again, made sure the music was playing, and insisted that I not rush. I immediately found a gorgeous scarf and a necklace for my friend, and I couldn't resist getting a great black sweater for myself. I thanked her profusely, and walked home to show off my purchases to my bf. Duly impressed, he reminded me that it was time for me to go back to work. Oh no. I couldn't find my keys anywhere. We tore up the house for a while, and found spare keys dating back to 2011. Just not MY keys. They have to be at the store. Finally, I had the presence of mind to look for a phone number (only after I'd already run back down the street to see if she was still there -- all locked up.). She answered, and said she hadn't noticed them. Upon hearing the panic in my voice, she offered to come back downtown and look. She had already driven away! It's her thanksgiving break! I felt terrible, but I needed those keys. Fear not, my keys and I were reunited. She was unbelievably gracious about my mistake, even apologizing for not having looked around before closing. A review for a boutique should emphasize the product. Ohmygoodness these clothes are perfect. And the jewelry. And the hats. Clearly, I HAD to make a special trip just to buy a present here. Also, though, let's all support the heck out of a just plain good person who happens to have a VERY fashionable boutique in the affordable clothes- hungry world of downtown Dallas.

I was never impressed with the quality of their clothing, but it was a good convenient place to stop by when I was in a bind for something cute and trendy to wear, and their accessory assortment is decent. My last visit was terrible disappointment. I was in a hurry to find a dress to wear that evening for dinner and drinks at the Ritz. I was in a hurry and quickly bought a dress with sequence. When I got home and truly inspected the dress, I noticed that it was missing some sequence pieces, and it just looked plain cheap and tacky. There is no way I was going to wear that to the ritz. What an embarrassment!! I refuse to wear the dress. It was a final sale, so they would not exchange it or work with me store credit. I left this unwearable dress and they kept my $50. Poor, very poor customer service for someone who wants to shop and support local business. It is a shame that they were unwilling to work with me in spite of their poor quality product. As a resident, I always suggest their place as a go to for clothing. I will no longer. They were not willing to work with a loyal customer, so I will take my business and recommendations elsewhere.

I was also surprised to see they offer a large sale area, with racks and racks of tops, dresses, skirts and pants to choose from. I also noticed quite a bit of accessories on sale as well. The staff is really friendly and upbeat without being annoying. When I mentioned that the clutch I was purchasing was for a birthday, she wrapped it up for free. Although it was in their bag, it was still cute!

Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. I'll keep giving it another chance because Clotheshorse has been one of my favorite Dallas shopping destinations for a very long time.

I was greeted politely and directed around the corner to the back, where the appraiser is located. That day, my interaction with that lady was uncomfortable. She had a condescending tone and a bad attitude. She even said one of my items was "jacked" and refused to take it. Overall, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person.

This is a great place to shop for gifts. They also have beautiful candles placed in different vessels that remind me of my childhood as my mom had some of these dishes. You'll find a wide array of tops and jeans and well everything. If you see a top that fits, you better get it now because he only orders four of each top (Small, Medium, Large and XL). He does this so you don't bump into yourself on the street which can happen a lot in this town if you shop too much Banana Republic. If you snooze, you definitely lose, but luckily HD has a layaway plan that will buy you more time to think about your purchase. For you ladies, HD also has a women's clothing store that is equally hip and two doors down from the Men's store. The best time to visit HDs is right about NOW around Thanksgiving. He usually has a deal where each canned food item you bring in gets you 10% off an item up to 50%. And he starts doing a crazy sale around this time too where each day he gradually marks stuff down each day until he clears it out. One year, I bought this bad-ass jacket for like $40, and he threw in some sick pants for $10. The prices might seem high at first, but once you're a regular, you'll start getting some good deals.
