Best NY style pizza in the Pinehurst area. The wait is worth it. There is a reason you have to wait in line and then wait 15 - 20 minutes for your pie to come out. Ask for crispy if that is what you like. His red sauce is also very tasty and combined with his dough, he gets the #1 rating. I just moved here from NYC where I lived for 67 years so I think I am a good judge. His meatball parm hero is also excellent. Tasty meatballs with his spicy sauce combined with fresh mozzarella cheese and good bread combine for a treat. This is our go to place for pizza and meatball parm hero's. The Buffalo wings were good- the blue cheese- didn't have chunks- just cream. The carnivore pizza was good- not much sauce, meat was flavorful. Be prepared to wait. Man - it's so hard to balance a review between food & service! Let's start with food: Great selection to choose from. Pizza is delicious. I had the calzone. For $19.99, I assumed it was going to be huge. It is. Definitely will feed 4 people. It was delicious with tons of cheese. Hot sandwiches are good, too. My biggest reason for giving 3 rather than 4 stars is it took over 40 minutes for me to get my calzone. Everyone else at my table received their order & finished eating....and I still waited. Literally everyone in the 6pm Saturday night crowd came & left .... & my calzone still wasn't done. No exaggeration- people walked in, ordered, & left with their food, but mine hadn't been made. I heard the staff lead shout, "Make two spare cheese," so at 30 minutes I asked about my calzone. "We're starting it now. Give us 8 minutes." Finally Now? At 40 minutes I'm asked how I want it cut, and a few minutes later it is ready. That's just poor management. It appears they gave my husband his premade pizza slices, & discarded the rest of our order. You'll also need to know that just because they have pizza slices already ready & you just want 1 or 2 slices, it'll still take a few minutes to get your pizza. It's good food. My boyfriends' parents recommended SoPies to us, so we stopped here after our four hour drive from Virginia to Pinehurst. I was starving so the pizza really hit the spot and I destroyed almost half the pie in one sitting. We got half bbq chicken without bacon and half white pizza, both of which we delicious. The person taking our order was also very sweet and friendly :). They have some limited seating but the restaurant is more conducive to takeout imo. When you walk in and see the boxes piled up and see the slices of pizza waiting it just feels like you walked into a real NYC pizza place. Found this place on Yelp and decided to go one night for dinner. We got there around 4, before the dinner rush. Off street parking is available, but minimal. The storefront isn't huge, but there are a few tables inside-- seat yourself. High chairs are available. You can see the employees tossing the dough from your table. Plates, straws, utensils, water, and cups are all self serve. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, buffalo wings, and mozz sticks. Everything came quickly! The pizza, especially, was delicious! Probably the best pizza we've had since we've lived in the area. My husband really enjoys pepperoni and they loaded it on. The wings were tasty, but they were more expensive than usual due to the chicken shortage. I have no complaints about the mozz sticks either. I think there were six in the basket and they came with a side or marinara. We had so much food, we ended up taking a lot home. There is a bar side, looks like it's at the bottom of the building with outdoor seating. We didn't venture down there, so I can't comment on that side of the facility, but I do know you can order food to be brought down. There were also a couple tables outside the storefront as well. The pizza reminds me of home. They didn't disappoint when they said it was like New York Pizza. The pizza taste amazing the only problem is the crust is a little thin. I must say the food is very good. We usually just get pies but sandwiches are good too. It's a small cozy pizza parlor that seats about 20 indoors and 16 outdoors. Fine for a quick slice and soda or beer. Family run business is very customer oriented. First off they do not cut corners on ingredients...they have cup pepperoni's and everyone knows that that is as good as it can get. Pizza is not overloaded with cheese or sauce as every ingredient has the perfect amount. Crust is crispy with nice flavor as everyone knows that the crust either makes or breaks the pizza.
