I've been going to Sorek's barbershop once a month for over a year now with Gun being my barber every time - this place is, without a doubt, my favorite barbershop I've found in Austin since moving here 10 years ago! This shop is consistently warm and friendly with a great vibe. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in and the conversations are always fun & insightful. I also love the ethnic diversity amongst all the men here, between the barbers and clients too... everyone joking and genuinely enjoying each other's company. Stumbled upon this place while exploring East Austin with a small bachelorette party, and absolutely loved it! The business was started by two brothers: one runs the barber shop and the other runs the clothing shop. What an awesome concept We have a bridesman in our group, so the bride spoke with Jared (the clothing co-owner) about potential fabric options within her color palette. You could instantly tell how knowledgeable and passionate he is about the business and the clothing they provide. I wasn't planning to purchase anything (the clothing selection in store is fairly small given the retail space) but with the quality of the shirt paired with the incredible conversation we struck up with Jared, had to buy a shirt for my husband. Want to feel like a million bucks? Look nowhere else. These guys are a one stop shop to making you feel like your best self. They are professional, welcoming, skilled beyond measure, and passionate. I found these guys walking by and getting a cut to vet for my upcoming wedding which also happened to be on the day I was going suit shopping. I went in strictly for a haircut but circled back around after shopping for a suit knowing that nothing would compare to this. Very serendipitous! Not only was I able to share a family memory with my dad and my future father in law (both of whom had never been to a proper barbershop) but I was able to order a majestic custom three-piece suit from these guys. 10/10 would recommend over and over again! read more

The second I walked in the staff was very welcoming and the vibe was on point. Deon gave me a tight fade, it would be difficult to find anyone else who could provide this quality of hair cut. I also selected the WakeUp call, game changer! Without spoiling too much it's a high level facial for men, Highly recommend it! Ok so my husband went for a haircut, the first time wasn't the greatest I was so angry about the first cut but I talked to one of the owners. The first one I called was so kind and understanding he said he would refund me and to come back and he would fix things. I received another call from The other owner who was beyond kind and understanding. He told my husband to come in either today or tomorrow morning (even though the shop would be closed) and he would take care of him without hesitation, I told my husband to go in today and omg he came back looking amazing! I love the cut and the way they treated him, was exactly what I wanted. He called me saying how amazing Jason was and how he loved how friendly and easy going they were with him. That's what I wanted for him to be taken care of and have a good time. It's our baby moon and I wanted him to be pampered before our little one gets here. Thank you all for all the goodies you gave us and for making my man feel and look like a million bucks. We moved into the Central East side of Austin in July 2020 and love the area. I've tried a few barber shops in Austin and stumbled onto Sorek and couldn't be happier this new establishment is just a 5 minute walk but id drive 20 minutes to back if that's what it took. It recently opened and ran by two charismatic brothers that developed that made me feel at home. Ask for Dean, he's a stylist/barber that did my hair nailed it out of the park. Detail oriented, passionate and knew the haircut that would fit me right. It was the best haircut and experience of my life and it only took me 36 years to get there. I've been a client of Sorek's since they opened the door's literally! Since being here the guys have been extremely helpful in helping me find a signature look. I recently picked up their Gibb's Jacket and it's wonderful. I am a heavier guy with broader shoulders and I like how the clothes can fit a more athletic guy. If the ready to wear clothing line doesn't fit they also make custom fits for the bigger/athletic guy. The customer service is impeccable. You will always walk out feeling appreciated and inspired to stay fresh with either a new hairstyle or some new threads. I highly suggest it. 10/10 read more

I will definitely be going back and couldn't recommend Sorek enough. As someone who is brand new to Austin, this was a great kickoff.
