They have had a faster turnaround time than the larger clinics I used to go to (for reference: I established care with Dr. Schenoist within 1-2 weeks of my initial phone call. and if I had an urgent need, I could get in for an appointment within the week. by contrast- if I dared do that with the larger clinics like CHI Franciscan or Virginia Mason, I was waiting MONTHS for an appointment to be seen.) I am so grateful to Dr. Scheinoist and his team.

I am happy to share that each time I visit the clinic I am greeted by a reception. Usually it is Trish. She has always been very patient, very knowledgeable and eager to assist. Whether it's a phone call to the clinic or while I'm at her desk she is always very professional and has a genuine care and concern for me. The Nursing staff has always been top notch. They have always been very professional and I have observed their communication with the doctor and I can you tell there is an excellent working relationship. Dr. Ron is the best out there. I have been to different wound care centers and seen a couple different podiatrists over the years. But I come back to Dr. Ron because whatever it is I need he makes it work. He is very knowledgeable, empathetic but he's a straight shooter. He always has enough supplies And the right equipment to get the job done. I can also speak on his handiwork in the operating room. I ended up having a couple of toes amputated the summer of 2015. Dr. Ron was able to save my foot. I'm very thankful for that. If I would have been under the care of a hospitalist I'm positive they would've taken my foot or amputated below the knee. If you want the best podiatrist please give foot and ankle specialist of Puget sound a call. Dr. Ron and the other doctors in the practice are top notch. The staff is second to none. The home visits are $75 compared to $20 at doctors office. She was in the hospital due to a fall and rehab so did not have service for A SHORT WHILE. When she resumed her appointments, she had a different nurse who she felt was not a good fit. I tried to schedule another nurse and was basically told they could not look up what nurse it was or when her last appointment was, they were really busy, do not come to her city much (but they come to a large senior center, many senior living communities, and a hospital all in the city they claim they don't come to.) I was told it was really like a "favor" to come and charge $75 for an in home nail trim and they are really too busy. Needless to say I will be finding a new company and nurse who are not too busy to provide services they advertise they provide. As an elder advocate, ombudsman, and professional who works in senior care I am truly disappointed in senior foot care of Puyallup and will not recommend their services any longer.

Because of this he is able to take his time and answer more than just three questions per visit. That is definitely a huge plus.

I wish it ended here, as I learned that the doctor ordered a lab work without the patient (my wife) consent to an Out of Network Lab, costing (~ $1680) more than the bill for the whole treatment. How is this professionally acceptable. I am consulting now with a lawyer to take this to a small claim court.

I feel I am in a unique position to review this doctor due to the length of time I have been under…read morehis care. Almost 7 months ago I dropped a 700 pound motorcycle on my left leg. This was a very severe injury. Even though the motorcycle was only moving extremely slowly when it fell on my leg it spun my foot completely backward and then crushed it. It broke bones in my leg and my ankle, totally dislocated the ankle and destroyed all the ligaments and tendons from mid-calf down. This took 3 separate surgeries to repair. Today I am coming to the end of my journey under Dr. Scheinost's care, and I could not be happier with his service. Throughout all this time Dr. Scheinost has been the most caring and passionate doctor I've ever engaged. He has been reassuring to me, which I badly needed, and he has been my champion. His temperament and, so called, bed side manner have brought him to a level that is more than just a doctor to me. I am proud to call him my friend. Dr. Scheinost is the quintessential 'people guy'. He has a great humor about him and truly cares about his patients on a personal level as well as the physical. Probably a little known fact; he is not just a surgeon, but a teaching surgeon. To achieve this level of expertise is an amazing accomplishment on its own. His well trained staff is simply a pleasure to work with as well. I dealt with multiple schedule changes, last minute…read morecanceled appointments and extremely long waiting times for my appointments when I was early/on time. Overall, the staff is friendly. The receptionist is extremely rude. Phone calls are rarely picked up, messages are never returned. Early 2026, they seemed to be having serious issues operating their business. I called multiple times in a month period to make an appointment. I even showed up at the office and it was closed during business hours. I finally connected face to face after 8 months of trying, dozens of messages never returned and the office being closed during their advertised business hours. The receptionist was extremely rude and the office manger wouldn't speak to me. I had apparently said something at my last appointment (over 1.5 years ago) that offended Dr Hoover. Nothing was ever said to me. No phone calls were received. Not even a letter to notify me. Again, my issue isn't with him being offended at something I said. It is how incredibly unprofessional he and his staff were regarding the situation. No notification, nothing. They just ducked calls and messages over an entire year. Not all doctors and clients will see eye to eye. However, if you're going to run a business and have clients, you need to be prepared to have difficult conversations! Or send simple letters. I loved going to this doctor, he was friendly and knowledgeable and straight forward. But again, this entire experience was extremely unprofessional and just shocking. His quality of care has gone down Significantly since his divorce. Hopefully he can get his act together and be more communicative to his clients. Be prepared to have a LOT of patience and essentially chase down your appointments!
