Just make sure it's not on a Sunday, because they're closed. Also, not sure if I should keep it on the DL or not, but there is a restroom upstairs. That's also where the magic happens--you can see artists in action!

Very very nice and interesting ceramic based artistic shop located in old town Puerto Vallarta…read more Pieces range from individual hand painted tiles, to multi-piece hand painted murals to vases, platters, dish ware, sinks .... etc. A very large and diverse merchandize line-up that offers something for almost everybody. Aside from the products on display, this shop will also make/paint products to order where I am waiting on a quote for a Hand painted Tuscan vineyard mural based on a picture I provided the artist. I cant wait to get this piece hung up in my Bar area as it will definitely be one of the focal points and topics of discussion that I will be appreciating over and over again in the coming years. Relative to the facility and staff, the facility is two stories where the lower level has most of the products they make on display and the upper level has their sink displays and the artists themselves hard at work painting the ceramic products. You should definitely not over look this area if you are in the store. Relative to staff they are super friendly and give you your space while shopping which I greatly appreciated. Overall this is a must stop if you are in old town as the quality and workmanship are something you will definitely appreciate. When you see the quality and match it up with the great price you will be hard pressed not to buy something. Five stars.....

Adj: Super Sufficient for Souvenirs!…read more This is the "famous" Walmart in Puerto Vallarta, (State of) Jalisco in Mexico. Every (or most) Mexican Riviera cruise stops at this port. After a full and fun day walking along the boardwalk/ocean front of PV, we stopped here for some souvenirs. This is the place to come for some little knick knacks pattywacks to bring home for loved ones and friends to bring them back little gifts and this Walmart definitely had a whole bunch of the keychains, little shot glasses, and other cutesy types of gifts. The store also had everything you'd expect from a Walmart from food fresh and pantry-shelf-stable, to clothing and shoes, to candies and snacks, to electronics and home appliances, to toys (esp. water toys and beach favorites) and games. Service was efficient and friendly with my very limited Spanish (they're used to tourists, I'm sure), so checkout was quick and easy. Overall, this Walmart was big, clean, and nice and neat and the prices were significantly better than the souvenir gift shops that are obviously tourist traps right at the cruise terminal, so a short walk here was worth it, even though we took a taxi on the way back to the cruise ship from the boardwalk, we did walk back to the ship after shopping here.

Bordering a Sam's Club (#1), it is strategically located near the Marina in the heart of Zona Hotelera and the Marina Vallarta (#2). Besides buying cheap'ish PV trinkets, magnets, memorabilia, this also serves as a place for toiletries, personal supplies, and even the occasional emergency beachwear. Americans love the place even more when they find it's excellent for air conditioning, accepts credit cards, has bathrooms and ATMs. What they don't have is good customer service. Quality interactions at Walmart should never be expected but the effort seems to be minimal across the board. A few other things to know is that the pricing is on part with the US and there are no fitting areas. Lastly, what's a Walmart without immense parking? There are plenty of spots, but it's not free. The 24 hour lot is $12MXN per hour and lost tickets can cost as much as $80MXN. Leave the bus stop for locals and the walking for the rest. A reusable shopping bag goes a long way. ___________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/sams-club-puerto-vallarta-puerto-vallarta (#2) AKA a magnet for tourists.

Pros: 1. They take…read moresolid COVID precautions on entry. 2. Decent selection and fair prices on food. 3. I enjoy the fresh juices at the counter. 4. The butchers are cool and I enjoy the selection of moles and seafood as well. 5. They have this luxury aisle (which is like a microcosmo of La Comer next door in one aisle). Interesting products. 6. The selling of electronics, appliances, school supplies and car gear makes it feel halfway between Walmart and Costco. 7. Solid pharmacy and sports section. 8. The bakery is godly. Seriously too notch and I think better than La Comer's bakery. Cons: 1. I got discriminated against after I paid. I went to join my 93 year old grandfather after I paid and tipped the man bagging my groceries. I was stopped by a woman in a Mega cashier uniform. She asked in Spanish about my blue swim trunks. I'm so-so in Spanish so I assumed she thought I was stealing. I emptied my pockets to show my I-Phone X and USA passport. Then asked in Spanish if she wanted to see my receipt. She brought over a coworker who spoke English. He said she thinks you stole those win trunks. I told him I get them in Vallarta in Costco. He said forget about it and let me off. I joined my grandfather waiting for me. My skin is darker and he is white so they probably could be a factor. I am mixed race Filipino-American. I was wearing my facial mask so my mustache was covered. I will have some empathy/critical thinking and say the world is anxious/on-edge from COVID. That same man appeared when we were loading our car (he did not walk us out). He apologized in English that his colleague thought I stole those shorts. I told him I would have had to come in naked then take the shorts Bruce's I have nowhere else to hide other shorts. He said she was just being stupid. In her defense, I later saw I did not remove the Kirkland tags from when I bought it at Costco yesterday. However, again, I'd have to come in naked to have stolen those trunks. And if she'd checked first instead of accusing me she'd probably find they don't carry those swim trunks here. Lazy accusations should be against store policy. I've had similar incidents happen to me around Vallarta. I know México is hurting, but it's no reason to assume a man with some color on his skin is a thief. In their defense, it seems that in both Mega and La Comer they view everyone as a potential thief. Hell they even have men with shotguns inside Costco in Vallarta. Not sure if they have robbery statistics to justify that attitude. If they don't, I suggest you give customers the benefit of the doubt and not just white customers. 2. Some cashiers or baggers can lack manners. 3. Smell the meats. I've had a cashier throw away chicken breast for me because he smelt it was old. 4. Mixed salads were mainly wilted but that's probably due to COVID. 5. Overstaffed and they don't seem too helpful when you ask a question. Again this attitude could be an offshoot of the COVID economic depression México is going through.

I bought a fire opal n silver necklace w matching earrings, they started at $2,000 I didn't want to spend that kind of money as I already have too much jewelry of all types, the dude was following me for so long n finally offered me an offer I could not refuse, he threw in a beautiful multicolor bracelet n lowered the price to $790. The following day, I tried to wear my pink necklace, it fell apart because 1 link was not welded properly, I called Aviles, they were closed Sunday n open just 1/2 a day Monday. needless to say I was very upset as we were going home Tuesday morning. I love the bracelet n wanted a matching multicolor necklace, I went into this Moon n Sun store located inside the flea market, Jorge, the owner was so friendly but not too overbearing, he offered to fix my pink necklace for free, on top of that he offered to remove 2 links also for free so my bracelet would fit perfectly, provided I of course buy the multicolor necklace for an unbeatable price of $350. Jorge was the nicest n most courteous person, you know you won't get ripped off!! The following day I returned to pick up the repaired jewels, I met his son who owned the jewel store a few doors down, he offered to sell me a matching multicolor earrings for $45, I regretted not buying it then, later I bought a fake silver w real opal on the malecon for $10. So anybody wanting to buy beautiful opal jewels, come here, this jeweler designed unique jewels n you don't have to haggle too much. I was so grateful I found him as it would be impossible to get the necklace repaired back home. If I come back to puerto Vallarta next year, I'll definitely come back for more. A solid 5 stars!!!

I have yet to get this money back. I have no idea if this was a mistake or a scam, I tried to call and email the shop to no avail and my bank is having no luck either. Watch out for shady transactions here. I am still struggling with this financial loss.
