A trip to the Apple Store found me considering a $299 replacement fee for my non warrantied iPad. After emailing the other iPad repair services I found on Yelp!, none replied to my inquiries. I was looking for same day turn around time and lucked into finding CydiaFix online. I emailed them (cydiafix@gmail.com) and they responded quickly, saying they could turn around a repair in three hours. Bottom line, for $120, I got my iPad screen replaced and it's as good as new. I was nervous about not using an Apple battery but i didn't want to pay their price for an older phone. The owner is extremely fair, and polite. My battery was done in a half hour, and worked like a charm for several years. A few weeks ago, i needed another battery replacement, and the same owner had it taken care of in a half hour. Then, unfortunately, a week ago i dropped my phone, and the pixels and screen were wrecked. After researching a fair price elsewhere, i went back to fastfix and within 40 minutes i had a like new phone. Don't hesitate to get mobile repairs here! I researched going online and ordering the parts, as I can get installation done at home, but after coming to this business twice in the past, I have seen that he does the right job. I won't have to worry that something won't work after a few weeks... His prices are excellent, and his attitude seems to be that he cares a lot about doing good work. Have used this shop on two occasions: two blue screens of death on different laptops (Vista, and…read moreWindows 7). The shop itself is located next to the BMO in the Longstreet strip mall across from the Oliver Safeway. Their proximity to home made them very appealing to use haha. Each time, basically I brought the laptop in, explained the problem, and the young Asian guy had a preliminary idea of what the issue was and would explain what he thought. (There is also an older Asian guy who works there but I think he's just there to accept new items as he barely speaks English.) There is a diagnostic fee - left it overnight - and he would call if he thought there would be additional charges. In Vista case, the laptop wouldn't get past the loading screen, but the guy was able to extract the hard drive and put it into an external drive (minimal cost), which ended up working out and we were able to recover all the documents. In the Windows 7 case, he wasn't able to recover the hard drive (fortunately I had backed it up not too long before), but he switched out a piece that he thought was faulty (minimal cost) and re-installed Windows 7 for me. So overall, I am happy with A-Computer's services. However, the guy noted that they don't touch personal stuff, so he wouldn't be able to fix stuff related to personal documents on the hard drive.

We chatted for a few minutes when I picked up my phone about the cost of replacing screens of various incarnations of the iPhone. I was surprised to learn how much it can vary. I'm glad mine was on the lower end. Wilson even graciously honoured the mention Yelp discount, despite his already reasonable prices. I hope I don't break my screen again anytime soon, but if I did (or needed any after warranty service) I wouldn't hesitate to return here. 5/5 P.S. - I had trouble finding his hours, so I've added them here to save everyone else the trouble.
