Trust that a Make Me Holey team member will be there to provide suggestions. Is the cost high? Yes. But their determination to provide a good experience makes them so unique and the pricing worth it. Do you have a budget? Well feel free to share that with the associate and they'll still share some amazing pierces within your price range. Despite coming to this business (and their new location after the move from downtown SJ) multiple times with wonderful experiences, what pushed me to write this review today was the fact that I was unlucky enough to break my cartilage piece but lucky enough to save and keep it to bring it in. I came in with the broken piece and the associate explained that due to the jewelry company's bad customer service, they're no longer working with them. Instead of saying "too bad, there's nothing we can do", the associate worked with me to get credit that applied to a new piece. I feel like most shops would not provide any help in a situation like this. Already obsessed with their work, service, and inventory to begin with, this truly solidified me as a lifelong customer and champion of Make Me Holey.

This is why you should ALWAYS go to licensed and APP professionals. So we talked over the rest of my list of wants, and came down to the last one I had a good anatomy for. So I ended up getting my septum done!! I was not super prepared (pro-tip, trim the nose hairs before you do this one or your pics of it freshly done will be scary) and I hadn't really thought about jewelry options for it. Karissa took her time with me and helped me pick out a pretty little captured bead that I was pretty sure I could live with while it healed. (I have the jewelry attention span of a ...oh looook a shiny new piece of jewelry....) As always, she was professional and explained the steps to me, and warned me what to expect during the first few weeks of healing. I am very happy with it, it's healing nicely, and I cannot wait to go, in September, and have the captured bead ring switched out for something else, once it's all the way healed. I had been wanting a tattoo of a lace garter for some time now and I finally decided to pull the plug and start inquiring. I had asked a friend if he had any tattoo shops he recommended and he referred me to this shop and to see Austin. I reached out to him via instagram and his response times were very quick and he was very kind as well. I told him what designs I specifically wanted in this lace garter and he specially customized a tattoo just for me. Fast forward to the day of my tattoo appointment, I arrived to the shop and it was such good vibes from the moment I got there until my tattoo was finished. The shop looked professional, sanitary, and had good music playing the whole time. I met the shop owner, Trung, who was very welcoming with open arms, he consistently offered if I wanted something to drink and made sure I was comfortable at all times which I really appreciated because not all places do this. Austin who was tattooing me, also made sure I was comfortable at all times and allowed me to take a few rest breaks in between to reset or if I needed him to stop so I could use the restroom. All in all, I would highly recommend this shop and both Austin and Trung for tattoos because their work is very nice and the prices are reasonable, I would definitely come back for any future tattoos as the amount of comments I've received on my piece have been endless! read more

My girlfriend got tattooed here by Nicki, and the experience was amazing from start to finish. Nicki was incredibly patient and took the time to work closely with her to make sure the design was exactly what she wanted. Even though the shop is normally closed on Sundays, Nicki went above and beyond by coming in on her day off to do the tattoo. So I got the serenity prayer on my right rib cage area. I suffered from depression and anxiety for years and years and I always find myself praying for my serenity. It's a constant reminder that life is what you make it and you should learn to accept it and grow from it. It took about three hours to complete. I'm so grateful that she was able to fit me in her busy schedule! She was supposed to be booked til the next following year but Bc one of her client wasn't able to hold their spot she was able to squeeze me in.

Found him here at Daruma Ink. I contacted him and his assistant (super adorable blondie) returned my message quickly and promptly. Because my newest piece is a small(ish) add on, I was directed to Denise (his apprentice) for my tattoo. I collaborated with Khuong on the design and Denise tattooed me. Don't be fooled by her baby face. She may not look like your stereotypical tattoo artist but she is damn effing good. She has the hands of a surgeon -it didn't hurt one bit! Studio is sparkly clean and new. Decor is chic with mostly Japanese art, creating a calming effect. No ugly 'I heart mom', stars or rose tattoos on display here! They operate by appointments only so you don't get interrupted by the nasty random walk-ins requesting tattoos on their pen is. Price is fair, paid hourly and vary depending on the tattoo artist. If you're interested in beautiful script, calligraphy, or custom Japanese tattoo and artwork, I recommend this place with the highest regard.
