ZERO STARS if that were an option…read more
I had one of the worst nail salon experiences of my life here, and it was rooted in dishonesty, incompetence, and complete disregard for a serious allergy.
Before my service even started, I clearly told three different employees that I am highly allergic to gel. I explained, multiple times, that gel causes my fingers to blister, crack, and become extremely itchy, and that I cannot use UV lamps. I specifically requested dipping powder ONLY because it does not require UV curing. I called ahead when making my appointment to confirm they could provide this service, as it states on their website, and was explicitly told yes. Once I arrived, multiple employees again confirmed they understood my request and my allergy.
Eventually, a technician was brought over who again confirmed she understood my gel allergy and that she would be doing dip powder.
That was a lie.
From the start, she showed she had no idea what she was doing. Instead of soaking off my existing dip, she aggressively ground my nails thinner and thinner, even after I asked her to please stop and soak them. She continued drilling past the color layer and into my natural nail telling me that she "has to do it this way". Finally, I had to pull my hand away while firmly and loudly tell her no more, because my nails were becoming so painfully thin that it was burning me!
Then came the biggest red flag.
After applying the base coat, she told me to put my hands in the UV lamp.
I immediately said no and reminded her, again, that I am allergic to gel and UV curing. She insisted, saying, "I know, it will just help them dry." That statement alone proves she was not doing dip powder, because dip does not go or dry in a UV lamp. That is gel.
She repeatedly argued with me, insisting I needed to use the UV light. At that point, I realized I was being completely misled. I briefly complied out of confusion, then immediately pulled my hands out because I knew this was wrong. She became visibly annoyed that I wouldn't continue.
After nearly an hour and a half, she applied what she claimed was the dipping activator. This hardens the nails almost immediately, but the nails never hardened. When she touched one, the entire layer smeared right off.
That's when it became undeniable:
She had been using gel on my nails the entire time.
I confronted her and said plainly: "You put gel on my nails. I told you multiple times I am allergic. You said it wasn't gel." Her response? "Oh, come here, we take it off or start again."
Absolutely not.
To make matters worse, I brought my poor elderly mother with me for a pedicure. Her pedicure lasted maybe 10 minutes, was rushed, poorly done, smudged, and then she was left sitting there for over an hour and a half while my disastrous nail service dragged on. The technician who did her pedicure was just as careless and unprofessional.
So not only was my service unsafe and dishonest, but my mom's experience was equally awful. This salon fails across the board.
This place lied, wasted my time, damaged my nails, and exposed me to a product I clearly stated was medically unsafe for me. There was no apology, no accountability, just an attempt to quietly redo it after I caught them.
If you care about your health, your nails, or basic honesty, DO NOT GO HETE!!! They will tell you what you want to hear and then do whatever is fastest, easiest, and cheapest for them!
For the record, I was only able to get my nails done safely because Sen Nails & Spa actually does real dipping powder and respects client allergies. They quite literally saved me during the holidays and made my nails look beautiful!!
This salon is dishonest, careless, and completely unprofessional. What happened here raises serious health and safety concerns, and I genuinely believe this business should be investigated and shut down.
