Not only is this very easy to follow, you will get a workout in that will have you sweating and feeling sore for a few days also. And remember, this is the only self defense class that is also endorsed by Archer.

It was a two-day class for 2.5 hrs each day. August and John were very welcoming to all the students and, after a short intro, we got to work. There were women of all ages and fitness levels, and all were really getting into it and learning. August introduced the right amount of stress to the training as we progressed and introduced real-world scenarios, which was extremely helpful. When I told a friend of mine (as I was showing off my new bruises :)) that it was 2.5 hours per class, she questioned "Why so long? They should do like 1-hour instruction & practicum, no?" My response was that I felt part of the training was to put you in stress mode and make you fight when tired. Again, real world. We took short water breaks, but everyone was excited to get back on the mat! I travel alone a lot for work and have had been in some situations I couldn't avoid, so I know the skills I learned (and will continue to practice) will be something I can draw on should I need to. Should I decide to become a practitioner, I'm sure I'll be coming here. Looking forward to their street training class, whenever the next one comes up. Thanks August!

I'm still pretty new...a few months in...but every class I've gone to has been super fun and interesting. There are no issues with ego here like you might encounter in other martial art communities. Everyone is patient and kind and the discussions range from philosophical to lighthearted. It's a safe place to learn and grow and you're encouraged to ask questions. I always learn something new and I always want to come back to learn and try more new things. In addition, you can hang out outside of class because we're all that close. I've met individuals from out of state and the overall experience is so welcoming and enthusiastic. Everyone wants to learn and grow. If you are looking for a dojo that will teach you not only how but also why, you will not be disappointed. The lessons on how to move in the dojo can be applied in daily life and the community is a testament to that. Reach out to Sensei Shane and you'll get a feel of what Bujinkan is and check out a class and you'll see what I mean. It's not just punches and kicks. It's so much more. Don't miss out.

Gym is not crowded, each time I was there , there might have only been 2-3 other people max. Service is friendly and accommodating. We got a weekend pass as out of state visitors. Pro tip: register on a weekday, since weekends may not have a front desk person to assist Recommendations : 1) test out your access after registration. Make sure to test with door locked to avoid possible subsequent issues 2) bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, so hopefully some more can be stocked up. Overall, would definitely return to visit the facility if I'm back in the area. Keep up the great work.

Boise is my hometown and I come back here to visit every year, but I spend so much time jumping between gym looking for the equipment I need depending on what I'm training that day. The moment I walked in and saw the equipment they had to offer, I knew I was home. They have everything you need to take a true holistic approach to fitness. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the welcoming staff and shown around. Unlike most places I've been around here where the front desk employee kinda looks at you weird like they're wondering why you're bothering them with your presence. All in all, Jack City is an uplifting environment with a welcoming community and unparalleled fitness resources that makes me miss it and wish I had a place like this to train at when I'm gone. And plus, they're one of the only place I've ever seen with kettlebells that go over 50 pounds. Thank you for having me, JFC
