Soul Cycle is located downtown on south congress. Thankfully if you wait 10-15 minutes searching for street parking on 4th you can usually get a spot. I attended the 6:30pm class and parking was a real challenge. Check in was smooth. I just had to sign a waiver and get cycle shoes because I didn't have my own and you can't use regular tennis shoe's. They also sell boxed water at the front desk. I appreciate that they provide designated lockers with a welcome sign for your first time. It's a very inclusive community! I wish you could select your bike as well and sit with friends if you come with them. It was a groovy workout! Thursday the playlist was full of Y2K hits! If you love to dance and move your body this is the perfectly workout because you get a little bit of everything!! Paige was an AWESOME instructor. Made my friend and I's first ride so welcoming, memorable, and fun! We joined for the Taylor Swift v Twilight themed ride and really enjoyed it. Great energy and vibes. She really tries to make everyone feel special and included & also helps correct your form to ensure a safe experience. Shoes are included on the first class and then are $4 to rent per class going forward. Someone from the staff helped us adjust our bike settings and get clipped in properly. A great cardio-intensive workout! I have been meaning to try SoulCycle for a while, and it lived up to the hype! I had Kristi as an instructor, and she was a great motivator. Her music was great. We did an EDM vs. Hip hop class, two of my favorite genres, so I was excited about that. The customer service set SoulCycle above and beyond; the staff escorted each new rider to their bike and helped them adjust the settings, which makes a big difference, especially for someone too tall or short. Towards the end of class, we did a form of meditation that reminded me of what is typically done at the end of yoga. In addition, the inside was very clean, and the bathrooms were loaded up with necessities and showers, which was a bonus. There were lockers which was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly! My only rife is the parking- it's atrocious because you just have to find a spot downtown. There is no designated parking garage or lot. That is the only thing stopping me from coming on a weekly basis. For the quality, it gets five stars from me. read more

I haven't done a SoulCycle class since before COVID and I'm on a wellness plan that offers two soul cycle classes a month so decided to try out the Pride ride this month. I forgot how fun the SoulCycle format is compared to other studios. You definitely feel good both spiritually and body wise. Chris and Jane collaborated on an awesome playlist and the hour class went by fast. All the moves where safe and I think it's great for both beginners and challenging enough for riders that have hundreds of rides under their belts. I took my first SoulCycle class this morning with Paige (Throwback Thursday - 45 min), and it was the perfect way to kickstart my day before heading to work. From the moment I walked in, Paige greeted me with a warm smile, helped me adjust my bike, and gave me a quick rundown on how everything worked. She even gave me a shoutout at the start of class for being a first-timer, and the whole room cheered - instantly making me feel like part of the SoulCycle family. Throughout the ride, Paige's energy was contagious. She hyped up the whole class, kept us motivated and even shared pieces of her own journey in a way that felt raw and real. By the end of class, she had me blow out a candle to mark the completion of my first ride, and it felt really symbolic and meaningful! The throwback playlist? Absolute fire! And, the dim lighting set the perfect vibe. As a fitness instructor myself, I know how much community matters in these spaces and SoulCycle nailed it. THEY STOLE MY OWALA. I came to a class, did admittedly abruptly leave because I felt sick and was told I could come back to pick up my Owala waterbottle from the spin session afterwards. Coming clean about something else: I called back after a long time, likely weeks, because I had torn my ACL so I took a minute to recover and had forgotten about the water bottle. When I called to ask about it, I was told it was no longer there. The only thought that came to my head was that someone had taken it for themselves after seeing it there for a minute. I had asked if this was the case and they said no. I followed up with, well, could you see why I think someone could have taken it, since according to both the workers and me it would be there afterwards? She replied that no one took it and they didn't have it. It's frustrating because at the moment of my unwell incident, no one offered to go in or let me go in to retrieve it, which I understand, but then it wasn't there after I called. I assume it was taken by a worker. What else could have happened? They could have at least been honest. read more

Finally hopped on the soul cycle bandwagon! Very clean and sleek. I love that they have lots of theme classes that are super current. I love the instructor Chris - he brings so much energy that is really inspiring and really gets to know the riders. The crew is really helpful in setting up your bike too. A nice touch would be wet towels after class. Also I know rent in downtown Austin is expensive but wow is this place really packed and it's really hard to get in and out of class because it's so cramped. Not my favorite cycle place in Austin but I appreciate that it's chain and having a membership and traveling makes it very convenient to stop ride. read more

This was the first SoulCycle location I've visited in Austin! I was on a trip back home to Texas for the long weekend and knew I had to check out the ATX location! The studio is like all others, clean, immaculate, and full of the friendliest employees. They even had chameleon cold brew on tap in the studio, a welcome sight for this hungover girl. I took my friend who was visiting with me and it was her first time. The staff did a great job of helping her get signed in and set up on the bike. Our instructor was Jack Bauer, who was a great to have! His energy was incredible and I loved being right in front of him, taking it all in! His playlist was bomb, and I had a great workout and experience! I'm looking forward to making more trips back and experiencing the Domain location in Austin as well! read more

Austin just got its 2nd SoulCycle and this location is in the heart of downtown! They brought their A team from the Domain location so get ready to sweat. The new location is on the east side of the Frost Tower. There are 54 bikes (not including the instructors) and the staff is super friendly helping you get set up. The new facility is bright shiny new with their signature crisp white, splashes of yellow and bold inspiring statements throughout the facility. They sell lots of cool gear with some just for their location DATX (downtown Austin). Amenities include showers with sundries and programmable lockers. If you haven't been to SoulCycle before, they typically run a special of $20 for your first ride. It is pretty intense but you will feel amazing afterward and have fun along the way. read more

I cannot day enough goodness about this place. We had a crew of us from out of town (eight women for my friends birthday!) and I just called a week in advance (noon the Monday before for a Friday class) and they reserved all our bikes for us. We showed up 20 minutes early (too early but because there were so many of us I wanted to be sure we got settled). We walked in and there was a sign that said Happy Birthday, Jill! What a cool surprise. They provided shoes and towels but not water. The class was full (!!) and the instructor (Chris) was super gorgeous and helpful. His play list was perfect for our TX experience and I especially loved the time where he told us to "just do you and ride". If you've done other Cycle classes like 24 hour or CycleBar this is definitely not as difficult. They do not have the computers on the bike so it was hard to really tell how hard we were pushing it. But we went for the reset and the sweat. It was HOT - so be prepared if you're used to the crazy AC in most gyms. They gave Jill a birthday candle and sang a short Happy Birthday. Oh and don't want to forget to recognize the rest of the staff! The front desk was SO helpful and even gave us a list of fun things to do in Austin. I loved everything about this experience!!! SoulCycle is truly the most fun I've ever had working out. Unlike Barre, where I hate life and want to die (still a good workout though). But I digress... The front desk staff and bike helpers are all super sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The class itself is challenging and motivating. I've had classes with 3 out of the 4 instructors and they're all great. BUT Isaiah is my personal favorite. I LOVE his class! He pushes us to do our best, he holds us accountable for our workout (turn that knob up!), and he always has the right words to say. May sound corny but some of his inspirational words have even made me teary eyed because they hit so close to home. I go in stressed and tired and come out a new woman, strong and bold. Locker room and shower areas are immaculate and clean. They offer all the bathroom accoutrements free of charge (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, razors, tampons, q-tips, etc.). The shampoo and conditioner smells divine and makes my hair silky smooth. Overall, SoulCycle is a great workout with a dedicated and knowledgeable staff. When I'm in town, SoulCycle in my go-to for a quick, intense work out. Based on a few years' of spinning experience, here's my ranking of Austin instructors: #1 - Julia V. - incredible teacher, great energy, good cueing, fantastic playlist, tough arm routine, and offers good modifications, if necessary. #2 - Katy Leigh - also a fantastic arm routine, good cueing, like her energy. #3 - Christy - A LOT of 3rd position (i.e. standing and riding, i.e. really hard). Good cueing, but not super great energy. More of a classic aerobics instructor. #4 - Natasha - no modifications offered, in fact, she called people out for being in 1st position (i.e. sitting and riding). Rambled about herself for 5 minutes at the end of class. Lots of choreography in movements, esp. in arm routine. So basically you need to be a former dancer to be into it. Otherwise, your arms are flying around at the wrong times. Cool. #5 - Chris Chandler - he's there to kick your ass. I went for my first-ever Soul Cycle class, having no idea what to expect, with 2 other newbies. We went for a 10:45 Saturday class and as soon as we arrived the staff was more than helpful, and helped us check in, find our lockers, and our way around. Looking around at everyone coming out of class, and preparing for the next was definitely intimidating, but we had the best time! The instructors and even the fellow riders were SO nice and everyone was happy to help us get situated and find our groove. The way were treated made us feel so much less awkward, and invited than we ever expected! The instructors even came over and helped us during class, encouraging us the whole time to be better and keep pushing. read more

These weights were then used for her to selfishly work out while we went months without being able to lift weights. So no need to rush and grab coffee before your morning workout because they have it! Overall great studio, the people are super friendly. Beware of Chris. Not only will he call you out during your first spin class (ever), he is also hyper-sensitive to Fitbit light and will make sure to double-hone in on you and give you a lecture about your choice in tracker-ware. He continued to call me out throughout the remainder of the class knowing it was my first time. Double bonus, I am a weight lifter and asthmatic, I'm already outside of my comfort zone, ease up. Loved the other instructors, would happily go back to their classes, just forewarning about Chris to anyone new to the studio or new to spin. The class was super high energy and a great workout. It was a little hard to hear the instructor at times because of the music but if you just watch it's pretty easy to follow along. This is fun, but not a great workout. The instructor is very energetic and positive, but compared to Define Rev, Ryde and competitor spin classes, SoulCycle is more like groupthink whooping than actual fitness. This morning I did the Soul Survivor hour-long class and left the bike thinking that Define works me more in 45" than Soul could have done in probably an hour and a half. I jump at the chance to ride at a new studio when I'm traveling. This studio checks all the boxes for a Soul Cycle studio, beautiful clean space, great music, luxurious bathrooms, and a friendly welcoming front team staff. However the class itself was underwhelming. As a rider I was bored. There wasn't enough variety in pace and choreography for my taste. As a rider I want to be challenged and pushed by the instructor, the instructor Rachel spent a large portion of the class off the bike, and it was challenging to understand her queues, especially when off the bike as you can't look to the instructor bike to follow her movements. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend Rachel's class for an advanced rider. read more

So this was my first time here because my girlfriend liked it, it was a free trial for me so maybe I do not have a right to complain. That being said, I feel I have to describe my experience. After the class started, keeping in mind I identified myself as a first timer, the lady came and cranked down my resistance which is totally welcome and expected, I mentioned I am extremely sore from heavy lifting squats for day before. This is all ok, but then she turns her mic off and says something about me be distracting And walks away! I have no idea why I'm distracting or what I've done wrong however now I feel like whatever I'm doing is wrong and feel very uncomfortable. Instead of motivating me as my instructor, I felt singled out and shamed but I'm still not sure why. As you can imagine the rest of the ride was awkward and unmotivated. I have been to a lot of spin studios. Let me count the ways in which this is awesome. 1. Free iced coffee 2. It's not too loud if you use earplugs 3. They provide earplugs for you 4. It's fun but not ridiculously over the top as in trying to turn the class into a deafening, strobe lit bass boomig night club. This reason should really be number 1. 5. Instructors are positive / motivating without being cheesy or too deep 6. The workouts are HARD. Standing most of the time. *Dont let that deter you. You control your bike tension - you can make it as easy or as hard as you want. And there is zero shaming anyone who needs to rest in the saddle.* 7. Theres a part toward the end where they say just ride for yourself - no instructions. Kind of a maybe 2 minute deal, thats really nice. 8. Staff is courteous but doesnt try to reel you into a sales convo. I really, really appreciate that. 9. Bikes have split seat saddles - so no numbness down there. 10. Very convenient location. I bike there but they validate parking at Frost Bank tower. SS is worth every penny. Making it a set part of my fitness routine. And no, nobody prompted or asked me to write this. Pros - Nice and clean facility and amenities - Very friendly/helpful staff and instructor - Great workout and music selection Cons - The studio temperature was too HOT. I would have given this place at least 4 stars, but I couldn't fully push myself because I felt like I was going to get sick from the heat in the studio. It was as if I was in a corepower heated yoga room. This is coming from someone who works out 5+ times per week, has been to many spinning studios and is a cardio fanatic. I could have wrung out my pants when leaving - and it's not because the workout was any harder than RIDE, a similar studio downtown. Countless women, including myself, were in sports bras and I never workout in a sports bra inside! Maybe this was a one time fluke, but keeping a studio that warm and without fans seems unsafe! I'd be hesitant to come back for this reason. It really ruined my workout experience. - The studio feels a bit cult-like with the whole spirituality aspect, but that's more of personal preference. I could see others really liking the community aspect of the studio. read more

Wow. This Cycle Studio is IN. YOUR. FACE. I'm still somewhat shaking my head at how intense it is! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with loud, pumping music. If you aren't awake, you will be soon. The front desk staff is killer- super friendly, glad to have you, happy to help in all ways possible. The lockers are spacious, the locker ROOMS (still pumping the loud music) are stunning- impeccably clean, the BEST toiletries possible (Milk + Honey products- even Arnica cream for your sore muscles?! yes, please!) and the showers have all the toiletries, including face wash *in* the shower (thank you for thinking of that)! Everything is clearly labeled and they have all you could need- deodorant, lotion, hairdryers (even with attachments for straightening). My first time spinning with shoes, there was a staff member in a bright yellow shirt (which is good, because it's dark when you come in) who helped me clip in and get my bike set up correctly. Thank you! Our instructor Rachel quickly got us off to a spirited, free-flowing, on-the beat DANCE spin. She exuded energy like no other- I was in awe of her head-flailing and dance-moving and sexual playfulness in the class. I had to laugh when she said, "Reach between your legs and grab the knob." hahahaha... I was like, "Well alright! Let's DO this, Rachel!" - Endless amounts of encouragement, push, deeply-inspiring "MOVE through what you're trying to let go of!" words as she gave us choreographed (to the beat) motions with our hips, arms, and heads. I was shocked, looking around, at how *everyone* knew what to do. The lights went out at 'bear down' or 'cool off' moments and up for 'Go Hard/Go Fast' moments... It was so much to take in! --And, in commenting on the other review of it being too hot/ it wasn't too hot. It was warm, yes. Plan on going in with something to take OFF (like your top)- Rachel will give you props for dropping it, too! -My only feedback for this class was that the mic was a bit muffled at times and I couldn't understand Rachel as much as I would've liked. PROS: -Incredibly Clean -Stellar Toiletries (razors, lotion, deoderant, endless towels, face wash) -Clean Showers with great water pressure (that's important!) -Bomb-Ass Music -Energetic and Inspiring Instructors -Helpful and Super Friendly Staff CONSIDERATIONS: -The lockers aren't *in* the locker room-- so you have to kind of go back and forth with your bags if you have a purse and a gym bag; not a deal-breaker, just a bit of finagling -The shower doors close completely and there's no way for someone to know if you're in there/ your items are left in the open locker space un-locked- so keep that in mind with valuables -First Time Riders should spend a little more time getting familiar with their bike/try clipping OUT and back in before class - in case you drop your water bottle or something -It can be a little tricky leaving the packed class to get to your locker, so just expect that it'll be a bit crowded -The music is LOUD/ but they offer ear plugs for those of you with sensitive hearing Thank you SoulCycle staff for being so rockin' -- can't wait to come and try more instructors!! :) read more

I went to my first class here on a Saturday at midday. I liked it a lot. I think you really have to like the instructor and music, if you're not a cyclist like me. I took a Taylor Swift vs. Kasey Musgraves class with Julia V. She was very motivational and inspirational. I will say this is a small studio, though I don't know if they're all like this. I showed up 15 minutes before, and it was packed. The lobby and locker area isn't big enough for people to be waiting for the next class, while the current class empties. It becomes very chaotic between finding a spot to stand and wait for the class to empty, while the students from the class pour out into the locker room, getting their stuff, going to the showers, etc. Plus, people coming to the lobby desk to get shoes and check in. My 15 minutes for my first class wasn't early enough. I think I planned my 2nd class better with getting there earlier, and waiting for things to clear out some before heading to the showers. Definitely need patience and time to get there pretty early and stay a bit later, unless you're willing to throw elbows. I will say the women's bathroom is divine. They have EVERYTHING you could possibly need. I will keep coming back to this location, as it's closest, but keep trying to allow for maximum time due to traffic inside the studio. read more
