Loved it! I have taken Pilates before, but it was my first time at this location. The instructor, Ashley, was great at introducing herself to us and showing us the machine. She was very interactive in the class and was constantly talking. Studio is clean and well maintained. The studios late policy is quite strict. If you are later than 3 minutes (on the dot) your class will be forfeited. If you cancel late, your class will be forfeited. They are quite open about this, so I recommend reading the rules/conditions so that there are no surprises. read more

Pure Pilates has changed my life. After being called to slow down from my typical workouts of HITT and weight training, a year ago I turned to yoga (shout out to blackswan), as well as to Pilates. I had never taken a Pilates class before Pure, and have never strayed from Pure since. I'm HOOKED! I surprised myself at how natural I felt on the machine and my practice only continues to become more intense. My body LOVES the slow mind to body movements, and while my focus has been on health and strength, as a result I've also dropped 15lbs in the last year. I'd heard of Pilates before (in the context of Hollywood starlets being bombarded by the paparazzi after leaving their classes, svelte and glowing), but had never tried it until Pure Pilates. I was recommended by a friend and honestly showed up with absolutely zero idea of what was going to happen, but the instruction here is really easy to grasp for a beginner. For example, while you're doing movements, the instructor will count with you so that your movements match the right pace (Pilates is done s-l-o-w-l-y, as a rule). While you're breathing through it, the instructor will tell you what's going to happen next: the name of the exercise, what part of the body it'll target, and where on your Megaformer machine you'll be (front platform, carriage, back platform). When you feel like you're about to keel over, the instructor will then count down the last few seconds with you, so that you feel you can last a little longer. 3... 2... 1, then move on to the next exercise. The instructor will probably also demonstrate for you on an empty machine (if the class isn't full) or on a padded bench. You'll also get soft corrections while you're doing the exercise -- if your feet are not facing in the right direction, or your hips are too low, etc. The studio is beautiful, and has 2 walls of mirrors so that you can check your form while working out. Garage parking is easy and validated, so you're only paying for the class itself. And while the classes are pretty pricey at around $20 each (depending on the package you buy), the exercise itself is so addicting, the instructors are super nice even in a structured environment, and the results themselves are pretty rockin', so I can't be too fussed about it. If you find yourself on the wait list for this location, be aware that there's a new Pure Pilates location at the Domain that has 10 slots instead of 8, and you can probably find a spot there! Classes for each location don't always coincide time-wise, but if one class is booked up you can always check the other location for an opening. read more

I did a Pure Sculpt class with Ellen, and JESUS. I hurt so good. 1. I've only ever done mat pilates so I didn't think the machine would be that big of a difference, but uh - yes. It is a really, really challenging class but even as a newbie, I felt really comfortable and Ellen was great about adjusting you. 2. Next to competitive swimming, this is the BEST full body workout I have ever had. Everything from my calves to my butt to the tiny muscles in my upper back are feelin' it. 3. Small classes - they only have about 9 machines, come with grippy socks or buy some there ($11). read more

This is one of my favorite pilates studios in Austin. It's challenging and motivating, and you get relatively personalized attention since there aren't that many machines in the studio. The classroom is really nice. It's smaller than most pilates studios I've been to, and there's not really a waiting area or lockers. However, it is laid out really well and has always been really clean whenever I've been there. They provide towels and water, and cubbies for you to put your items in. They also validate the Quarters Parking, which is right next door. And they sell cute clothes/water bottles/barre socks for a reasonable price! read more

Unfortunately, due to poor customer service, I was not permitted to take a class I had already paid for and signed up for but could not make due to unavoidable circumstances. This is a very rigid owner wo the ability to work w customers who in this case was bending backwards trying to make the class. Based on principle alone, I will not be attending this studio. Sadly so bc I believe their classes are likely very good. A great company w terrible leadership or marketing will not succeed... If u cannot understand that ur customers are not robots and things come up in real life, this will affect ur business. I have 100% class attendance! read more

I've been coming to Pure since the first week it opened in October. I've been doing the Lagree workout for almost 6 years now and have been to probably 25 different studios all over the US. Needless to say, I was so excited when I found out that a studio was opening in town. This workout isn't traditional pilates; be prepared to sweat! It's a full-body workout that focuses mainly on your core, legs, and obliques with some upper-body exercises, as well. You will be sore for 3 days minimum if it's your first time trying it, trust me! The machines look pretty intimidating, but once you learn the different exercises, you'll get results easily and be able to transition quickly between moves for a more efficient workout. I'm in here probably more than any other student- sorry ya'll for having to see my face daily. I drive 25 minutes to come here, that's how good it is! Ally, Laura, and Natalie are all awesome. My only suggestion would be to play the music louder sometimes, as it takes my mind off the pain. :) read more

What an amazing studio - it is so clean, it's roomy, and not to mention so cute! For the first time, I have found a work out studio where accuracy and strength is key. The trainers give you individualized attention and this helps you not only get stronger but also leave without an injury. I was/am a newbie to pilates, but each time I feel surprisingly stronger. I am obsessed with Pure Pilates! I was a long time ClassPasser who decided to commit to one studio when ClassPass ended their unlimited option. I chose Pure Pilates after trying it a couple of times. I've been going regularly for two months now and feel leaner, stronger, firmer, and happier! Both studios are clean, welcoming, and have free parking. The instructors are great and very helpful for newbies. I also love that they offer classes at 5:30 p.m. every weekday, which is surprisingly hard to find for some reason. For those who haven't done the Lagree Method before, the megaformer is definitely intimidating at first but don't let that deter you. After 2-3 classes I started to feel much more comfortable. There are modifications available (like the weighted pole) that you can use when you are nervous about balancing on the machine. read more

Saw this place while leaving a CYC class, and decided to sign up because they have a monthly deal as well as individual sessions. I came into it thinking it'd be a mix of yoga and maybe be a relaxed workout. I was wrong! The Pure Pilates workout is awesome, and very challenging! You really get a great leg workout as well as abs and some arms. There's cool music playing too but it's not as loud as a CYC class, but louder than a yoga class. The instructor was really nice too and showed me how to do everything correctly, without pressuring me into doing something I couldn't. read more

I've taken a couple classes with Ashley C., and it is awesome. I work out regularly, but I always walk out of the studio with the best full-body work out. She makes sure to exercise every major part of your body on both sides. After two classes, I felt like I could see a difference in muscle tone especially in my legs. I usually run, so Pilates is a great way to mix it up and target different muscle groups. The studio itself is very open clean and open. After each session, every machine is cleaned and wiped down. There's a parking garage right next door and some metered street parking, but that can be hard to get sometimes since it is in west campus. If you're looking for an amazing work out, you have to take a class with Ashley C. She also has a great playlist to pump you up throughout the class. Ashley makes sure to pay attention to your form not to hurt yourself and get the best work out while being very encouraging to power through when you're tired. Really love the Lagree method of fitness and starting going here several years ago while I was commuting from LA to Austin. The only problem was this owner makes your classes expire quickly and when I told her I was commuting and just needed a little more time she wouldn't agree to help me out. If you pay for you classes they shouldn't expire quickly! I knew other lagree classes would come to town and they have! I now go to Twitch Fitness and they don't make your classes expire so quickly, plus it's even got more intensity. read more

I visited Pure Pilates while home for the holidays. I take megaformer classes in LA and was so excited to find this place (I saw a flyer for the studio at Lululemon). The studio is tiny compared to what I'm used to, but that just meant closer attention from the instructor. The room is immaculate and the instructors I took were very friendly. I went to my first ever Pilates class here at Pure in Austin. I felt completely comfortable walking in to a full class and had an amazing workout. The instructor was professional and very high energy. The other class members ranged in skill level from beginners to experts. I did not feel out of place at all. I have been taking classes here a couple of times a week since it opened, and I am addicted! I have already felt my body change within a few weeks. The classes are challenging but doable. I feel like I've gotten a great workout each time I leave, and I love that each class is different than before. Another perk is that each class is 45 min, so it's easy to fit into your schedule. I'm super obsessed with this place. I've been coming through Classpass and I may have to buy a class card bc 3x a month isn't enough! I've gone 5 times so far- always to Natalie's class. It is one of the hardest workouts- super challenging and I always leave feeling sweaty but stronger. I love that the class is never exactly the same and that its a full body workout in 45 minutes. The studio is clean and they provide towels. You'll want to wear grippy socks to avoid slipping around. I was a little bit lost on my first class but after a few you get the hang of it. Natalie is an awesome instructor. She's very positive and encouraging- making sure you do those last few reps! The class size is small and personal and even though it's on campus, parking is easy with validated garage access. I think these classes are pretty affordable for pilates equipment & I'll definitely keep coming until I can master all the moves! read more
