All the workers were so friendly here. Mike understood what we were looking for and worked with our budget. I've been having phantom electrical issues with my touch screen radio for a while. I finally decided it couldn't wait any longer bc I don't feel safe driving with it. It would make calls without my permission, change the station and sound settings and it was also outdated and wouldn't display gps. Only music and basic call information. tl;dr: Nate honors his advertised installation warranty! As a holiday gift, I decided to upgrade my daughter's stock radio for her Honda Fit with a new touchscreen bluetooth/carplay model. My previous experience with Sound Doctor had been very positive (see previous reviews), but I was a little concerned when I learned that the shop's ownership had changed. Nate is the new owner, and I found him in the shop one morning cleaning and painting. We scheduled the install for Thanksgiving week, and I brought my daughter's car in for the work, which was done quickly, cleanly, and the results were good, except that the airbag warning light was on. As I don't drive her car very often, I wasn't sure if it was a new problem or not. She said that this was new. I tried to contact Nate on the Friday after Thanksgiving, but the shop was closed. My daughter drove her car back to northern California the Saturday after Thanksgiving, worrying about whether the airbags would work in an accident. She took the car in to her local Honda dealer, who found that an airbag connector had come loose, most likely during the radio installation, and re-attached it. After we provided a copy of the dealer's write-up, Nate honored his advertised installation warranty, and refunded the cost of the service call. read more

I was really pleased with Marks professional "customer first" approach to taking care of my needs and my cost was much more reasonable than the estimates I was quoted elsewhere! On top of that, my truck had been having charging issues for a while, so my battery was low which Mark noticed. So he asked if it would be ok if he put my truck on his charger while he was installing my remote. During that time, he found a bad ground that my mechanic had missed and fixed it for me at no charge! So YES! I own a Honda Element 2011. Although I love my car, I have always wanted the "whole shebang", the "kit and caboodle", or the "entire package". I was lacking GPS, a back-up camera, making phone calls via my car, listening to Spotify, and so much more. I went to Yelp and searched for sound systems installers and sales. In truth, I wasn't impressed by my options in Ventura. Once I found this company, I called and asked if it was possible to bring my Element to the 21st century. Mark said YES. He explained that they were off for a week, for a much needed family vacay, and could I make an appointment. He also shared that Sound Doctor 911 was the highest rated car and boat stereo/nav store in the nation. :-D After exploring my car dreams with Mark, I said YES to making my car my dream car. I told him I was a teacher who just finished summer school for 107 students. This car stereo with navigation & a back up camera was my treat to myself. He said he would do something extra for me. He was so kind, patient, knowledgeable, and understanding. When I was done with the phone call, I had a little happy cry. When I arrived to the shop, Mark remained amazing. He introduced me to his Dad who owns the shop. They are a family owned business. Mark was ringing me up, when I asked him if I could ask him a silly question. He said Sure. I walked briskly to my car and displayed what I had just purchased on Amazon. It is an after market part called Alexa Auto ($35.99). Mark said... I may have a product in stock that includes Alexa. (Woo Hoo). He had 1 Pioneer DMH- W????NEX in stock. It includes Alexa. There was an upgrade in price. The labor would be the same. The screen would be bigger, the sound would be better & overall this would be a superior package. I believe the cost was $250 more. I looked at my hubby, he nodded in the sweetest way, and then I said Y. E. S. YES .... and I had a happy cry. (I just do not treat myself to sweet little things like this.) The price out the door was $1450. Mark asked me several questions and I was on my way. The car would be done in a few hours. When we returned, I was overwhelmed with happiness. Mark took the time to show me how things worked. He was very, very detailed. I was perplexed by the radio stations. (I listen to Sirius/XM.) I asked how do I access that?? He said, oops, I should have asked you that. You have 2 choices. #1 is access it through your phone or #2. bring it in again and I will charge you as if you said yes at our initial transaction. The new cost will be $150. I opted for the additional charge as I also use Spotify from time to time. So, the new out the door is $1600. I am still happy.. very happy. I have owned this system for 18 days. I will try to master these enigmatic features on my own. If I cannot, I will reach out for guidance after Labor Day. * How do I accept the Internet Communications agreement? * If I add a hotspot for Alexa, will the Hotspot only be used for this App? * I am allowed 30 GB, per month via AT&T, for my Hotspot usage. Is that enough to use this app? I only drive 0-6 miles per day. * Does the back up camera ever make a beeping sound? * As I prefer WAZE or Google Maps, how do I accept Waze via my phone? That is it for now! Sound Doctor is fabulous. P.S. Johnny, hubby, has almost all the bells & whistles on his truck. He is only lacking GPS. We are seeking something more affordable for his truck.
