Ryan and Sound Extreme were amazing!! We hired Ryan (the owner) as the DJ for our wedding at Rush Creek Lodge on November 2nd and it could not have gone better! The planning process was very organized and Sound Extreme's online planning tool was so helpful in choosing all of the special songs (first dance, processional, etc). We had two skype/facetime meetings with Ryan before the wedding to go over details (event order, special songs, what to expect, etc) and we had no doubts that everything would go smoothly. I didn't worry about it at all on the day of the wedding, and knew I could trust Ryan and his team (including Sarah, the mirror photobooth attendant) to be there, on time, and do their job. Ryan was very attentive both after the ceremony (he even brought us water afterwards) and during the reception. He totally kept the party going and several people complimented us on having such a fun wedding. Ryan surprised us with fun lights and glowsticks during the dancing portion of the reception, and we had the most amazing time. Ryan is a professional, and we put the music in his very capable hands. We included songs on our must play, play if possible, and do not play lists, and asked that he use his professional judgment in selecting what to play. Wow, Ryan. Please, take some responsibility, and stop accusing me of being vindictive. You addressed the photo booth operator's attitude in a defensive manner, but incessantly fail to accept that THIS particular photo booth did not function properly. I never said anything about ALL your booths. The screen was black. Look into it, and stop blaming me for concocting lies. Getting one more turn in the photo booth after two sessions is not that serious. Also, I blurred the images to protect the identities of those in the photos. The album is "private". It's not cool to post pictures of people without their knowledge. It's funny you think I was trying to pass it off as a photo from your booth though. The purpose was to illustrate the heads cut off. I could get more, but my point has been proven. This is on principle. You accused me of lying in the first response. So I responded with "new fervor". I was simply a guest at this event expressing my dissatisfaction and voicing that of the other guests. Continue to negate responsibility though. At this point, I'd most definitely not recommend any other of your services knowing this is how you handle customer disappointments. Not cool Ryan, to publicize photos of customers who opted for a "PRIVATE" album. It definitely proves your original claim was untruthful though. Mission complete! read more

This wedding DJ was a definite disappointment and I would not recommend him when choosing vendors. I was in the wedding party and over half the songs on the "must play" list were not played during the reception, which definitely dampened the party. On top of that the most arguably important moment last of the wedding: the bride walking down the aisle was ruined by the wrong song being played! Anyone in the industry would recognize instrumental versus vocal is completely different. With a ceremony of 150 people, this mishap was noticed by all. When relaying this information to Ryan, the owner, argued with the bride -- clearly he does not know the customer is always right. Please review your options when planning your wedding. UPDATE: Ryan has now contacted me about the review and the bride as well. No resolutions have been made. He is insistent that three consultations were done (only one), not to mention no DJ at the rehearsal, and most of all -- the wrong song being played. I have never seen customer service done like this. When other yelp reviews call him vindictive and argumentative, LISTEN. They are absolutely correct. If I could leave 10-10 stars for Sound Extreme's team, I'd actually leave more. This review dates back to 2018 when I initially booked them as our entertainment services provider for our wedding. I got in contact with Ryan who was both professional and personable. He left such a warm and friendly impression, with us that is downright unforgettable. Aside from this, his experience spoke volumes. As a lover of all types of music, to me, it was imperative to have a DJ who reflected our personalities but also who could entertain such a mixed crowd. Music is everything to me. It gets me through literally everything, and what I wanted more than anything for our wedding was to DANCE! Lol. Sound Extreme did more than just provide music. They DJ'd, they provided up-lighting, photo booth, they provided sound for our ceremony, super cool sparkler effects, I mean this team does it ALL. Our wedding was at Ironstone 06/26/21 and Sound Extreme was amazing from Day 1. Dylan was so on top of every little question and when I thought certain songs may be unavailable he proved me wrong by finding them and playing them (sentimental reasons he made my wedding perfect). Ryan was seriously so professional, friendly, kind and sooooo accommodating. He did the normal DJ accommodations (and obviously was a great DJ, played fun songs, stuck to my do not play list, took requests), and was awesome handling my pre-wedding jitters like my last minute, day before the wedding first dance song change, and he even called me the day of the wedding just to make sure we were on the same page with all of the songs, and the day of the wedding he told me that the bride and groom shouldn't ever have to go to the bar for their own drinks, he would get us drinks himself, which is INSANE and so unnecessary but shockingly thoughtful, he even diffused a situation between another vendor with grace and professionalism, he was just so great in so many ways and it felt like he was a family friend. The pricing was more than reasonable, honestly with the level of service that we received, we would have happily paid Ryan more without question. UPDATE: Ryan the owner is still arguing, instead of taking accountability for his business mistakes! His company ruined our Wedding Ceremony. He continues to argue about songs played, when all he has to do is hit play and he will know that it's wrong. 150 guests were there! The song had VOCALS, that makes it incorrect and is Sound Extremes fault. They were responsible for what they downloaded and played and probably should double check their work prior to playing it and with the bride. He CLAIMS 3 consults were given. He emailed for the first one (which I never received). The only consultation I got was one to show me how to use their website. That's it! The DJ knew this. There was no second consultation or third. Ryan is claiming my 3rd consultation was a random phone call the week of the wedding, the DJ said he had ONE (1) question. It was in regards to PRE-CEREMONY music. Other then that he had it, thanks and that was it! THAT'S NOT A CONSULTATION! Ryan CLAIMS he is trying to resolve this matter but he isn't! All he wants to do is ARGUE! My wedding was over a month ago. I complained the day after the wedding. He never once offered to make this right. It wasn't until I took to yelp and only on here does he claim he wants to make it right but do you think he has actually offered something to make it right, NO! Just arguments. I have asked for a refund. For many reasons not just the ones listed in these reviews. He still hasn't refunded me for the damages in errors made at our wedding. My husband and I traveled from Hawaii to get married in Sonora, CA (yeah I know, everyone thought we were crazy but have you seen how rustic and beautiful Sonora is?!). On our big day, there was so much going on. There's a lot of excitement and people are running all over the place. Amongst all of the craziness, up walks Dylan as calm and cool as can be to ask us "hey, how are you guys doing? Can I get you anything? Water? Just let me know if there's anything you need." I so appreciated his genuine offer to help us with anything we needed that day. He didn't have to do this. It's not the DJ's job to make sure you're calm and hydrated, but he really cared about us as clients and I truly appreciated that... Especially when one of our groomsmen started to feel a little faint and Dylan ran to get the entire bridal party. He was always quick to jump in and help out. In terms of being a DJ, as you can imagine Dylan was fantastic! He ran our program for us and kept us on track. He communicated with our other vendors so everyone knew what was coming up and our photographers/videographers could be in place for all of the big items in our program. We reserved our photobooth through Sound Extreme for our wedding on February 29th, 2020. We had a great experience working with this company! The photobooth was set up promptly and was ready to go for our reception. We initially booked an "idle hour" but due to some last minute changes in the schedule, we didn't need one anymore. The team was great with working with us to revamp the schedule and refund us the cost for the idle hour. The equipment itself was high quality with great print out photos and an online album. He is a consummate professional, responded promptly always and really took the time to meet with us and help us build our wedding. It ended up raining, and Jordan was very flexible with changing locations and changing the order of events to make the new location work. He was able to find some pretty obscure music that my husband likes for our cocktail hour and dinner. My wife and I just celebrated our marriage in her parent's gorgeous backyard in Columbia, CA. When we began looking into DJ services for the area, everyone's reviews and recommendations pointed us in the direction of Ryan and Sound Extreme. Unfortunately, they were already booked for DJ services at the time we contacted him, about seven months out from our wedding date. So if you want the best, book early! He did recommend the DJ services we ended up hiring, however, and they were wonderful. While Sound Extreme was unable to provide DJ services for us, we did still set up a meeting with Ryan for him to scope out the backyard venue for lighting and a dance floor. After seeing our location, Ryan came up with a plan to provide market string lighting with wine barrel bases and lamp posts that would tie in with our overall theme. We also settled on a dance floor size based on the number of guests attending. The day before our wedding, Ryan and his crew arrived to set up and ensured everything was in perfect order. The night of, we could not have been happier. The amount of lighting and the decorative appearance were perfect and the dance floor size was just right. Sound Extreme is definitely the way to go for lighting and dance floor services and they offer so much more. I initially contacted Sound Extreme about a year before our wedding and was promptly provided with a clear breakdown of their various services (DJ, Photo Booth, lighting/props, etc.). In comparison to other DJs in the area they offer a competitive and reasonable package. We opted to use their services for our ceremony and reception for a total of 6 hours. When we were finally ready to put down a deposit, I worked with Callie in their office and she made the process easy. She reached out to us about a month before the wedding to check in and start chatting about our music preferences, schedule and so on. She provided us with an extremely helpful worksheet to help us put all of our thoughts down. It even prompted us to think of things that we would have completely missed otherwise. Callie also told us about a fantastic app that gave us all sorts of ideas for the different songs we wanted to play for the different dances and moments of our big day. The week before the wedding we had a phone call with Travis, our DJ for the day. We went through the schedule, songs, and even the enunciation of some of our bridal party's names (so thoughtful!). Thankfully Travis had worked weddings at our venue many times before ours so he was well acquainted with everything there. Travis was absolutely exceptional the day of our wedding. Ryan and Travis from sound extreme were awesome! We hired them to provide the music for our wedding and reception. They both were very professional and helped make our day a memorable one. We worked with Ryan while planning our wedding and he communicated very well with us. He called us a week before the wedding to follow up with us and confirm that there weren't any changes to the plan. Travis did an excellent job on our wedding day. Everything went well at the ceremony. There weren't any problems with the audio system and all the music was played on cue. My husband and I used Sound Extreme Productions as our DJ services for our recent wedding on 10/15/16, at Pinecrest Chalet, which is about 30 minutes away from Sonora. We researched different DJ's in the area, and after reading the rave reviews for Sound Extreme, we knew we wanted to go with them, and we are SO glad we did! Unfortunately I did not call soon enough to book Ryan (they book out more than a year in advance!) but he arranged for another DJ, Dylan to work our wedding, who he assured me would be just as great. However, due to a unexpected change in personnel, we ended up getting Jordan to DJ our wedding a few weeks before, and he was just wonderful! From the moment we first spoke with him, he made us feel at ease and like he knew exactly the vibe/type of music we liked and wanted played. We were given a very handy music/timeline planner for the ceremony and reception, which helped guide us in what songs we should pick and when- then Jordan had free reign to pick the remaining music for the event, and he did such a wonderful job! My husband's father remarked that it was the perfect playlist for the White family, as he ended up playing many of the songs that we all listen to on rotation in our personal playlists. Almost everyone at the wedding had at least one song that they got down and boogied to, and Jordan played a great mix of old classics/staples, and newer music as well. He was extremely professional and was very flexible in working with us, as we changed our minds frequently with the song selection, and we even had to change the venue last minute due to a heavy rainstorm- none of it fazed him! My only one slight complaint is that the groom had requested a cover of a Bob Dylan song for he and his mom to dance to, and instead, the original version of the Bob Dylan song was played. It was the same song, so it's not a huge deal, but we were assured they would be able to find almost any song we requested and for some reason we didn't get the exact one we wanted, as it would have had a much different tone. But it was a very small issue. Otherwise, Sound Extreme was very professional, communicative and made the entire process of choosing wedding music (which is a lot more daunting than it sounds) go very smoothly. They were in constant communication with us, Ryan even took the initiative to e-mail us the week of our wedding to give us a heads up on the inclement weather and to discuss possible alternative options. Overall I highly recommend them for any of your music/entertainment needs, especially if you are having a wedding in that area.
