This project was a little different because it involved opening up a small part of the wall, and a strip in the ceiling. Kurt's team opened the ceiling and wall to the bare minimum degree needed to get the job done (I would do the drywall, patching and mud myself later as agreed upon). When it came time to discuss switches, Kurt listened as I described my original request of having three switches on the wall instead of two, and educated me on a much more cost-effective solution (going with a stacked combination switch). His report, delivered promptly less than 24 hours after our walkthrough, was almost absurdly detailed; and he made it very clear that he'd be personally available in the following months if I had any questions about my new home. (Although I haven't taken him up on it yet, this seems like the real value!) The actual inspection process did not feel at all rushed; he took his time in answering my questions, and seemed thorough in checking over things. That was my biggest concern going in (ending up with a large company who's employee/subcontractor had other inspections scheduled the same day; and having someone miss things because they were in a rush.) The nature of the work does make it a bit hard to review a home-inspector on anything other than 'vibes' in the short-term (until I find something he missed; or something he pointed out turns out to be somehow unexpectedly *wrong*, well ... his entire job is to notice things I *don't* notice. And he did a lot of that.) That said, I cannot recommend him highly enough, at least on his promptness, apparent knowledgeably, and frank needs-focused explanations/answers to all of my questions.
