As a guest who attended a wedding at Soundview Caters, I was really shocked at how tasty the food was compared to other venues/vendors!! The space and the views are also a plus!! I got the opportunity to try their reception/cocktail hour foods in a buffet style. Their pastas, stuffed calms, calamari, fish tacos, and assortment of pizzas were solid. For the actual wedding, the salad was fresh and crunchy. The main dishes of salmon and filet mignon were actually pretty good too! Meat was cooked nicely and well seasoned! Exceeded my expectations for a wedding meal. Staff were polite and attentive. Multiple folks asked if I needed more drinks or water. I was asked about allergies which I appreciated (not all venues do this). Even the bartenders appeared to be enjoying their work and were nice in explaining the available options. The venue itself was very cute! Great for white beach house and fairy lights vibes! It is on the smaller side I think, but it comfortably accommodated about 80 to 100 people in the main room I was in. There are 2 floors, with the bottom connecting to an outdoor area. Views of the ocean were better on the top floor. Space including bathrooms were clean. Only valet parking available. read more

Had a Friday wedding here. The location is amazing and with an early evening ceremony and reception immediately following, you couldn't have asked for a better setting. The sunset was spectacular. The appetizer hour was okay - food was good but I think they could have done better with crowd control. Thank goodness the 200 some odd guest were mostly family and friends lol the food was presented in a square in the middle of the room and no one could tell where the beginning or the end of the line was. It was so intimidating to some that they opted not to partake in the apps. The dinner was great, options were nice. Wife had the chicken, son had the salmon, I had the filet mignon. We all thought everything was very good. The bar...it was an open bar, but not sure if we were actually getting served alcohol. Most of the guest took advantage of the shuttle from the hotel to the catering hall. I was one of them, I was thinking - I can 'party' and not worry about driving YAY! My choice of drink for the night was Jameson's on the rocks. I'm no lightweight, but after 4 drinks I should have had a lampshade on my head lol I actually probably had at least 6 or 7 and I still was able to complete a thought lol Great to see family and friends but not sure if I'd recommend this place for any future events read more

I am SO happy going with Soundview for our wedding venue!!! They made everything seamless, stress- free, professional, elegant and beautiful. From the process with Diane, to Diego the Maitre D and Lee the bridal attendant- THANK YOU! Amazing communication, hard work and organization. They worked so well with all our vendors as well! I've been a part of many weddings and not one venue has ever offered to set up and take down the decor. Also, they packed everything back up nicely and didn't rush us to remove the items the evening of. As for the food- EVERY SINGLE GUEST raved about the amount, selection and quality. Especially cocktail hour! I wish we got to experience more of it but we were so busy and anxious about our evening ahead and the next step! Soundview Caterers is a gem that I discovered on The Knot and I am so grateful that I was able to have my wedding reception there on July 1, 2017! Everything about Soundview was a positive experience for my husband and I. Just entering the place you get positive vibes from the cheerful and fresh colors, friendly greeting from the receptionist, and the amazing aroma of Soundview! Not only is Soundview Caterers gorgeous to look at, it is placed in the most perfect location by the water! My photographer was very excited to take pictures of us and our party at this venue. The food was appealing to the eye and absolutely delicious! My guests are still ranting and raving about the amazing Cocktail Hour and Entrees at Soundview! The service was on point! From the receptionist at the front desk to the servers, to the Maitre D, Bridal Attendant, and the owner himself, Michael, were all so accommodating, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process of planning my wedding as well as on our wedding day. I was absolutely blown away with the outstanding customer service and attentiveness given by all of your staff at the Shaw/Morande wedding that took place 10/17/21. Every detail was well executed. Dawna our loyal bartender was on her game the entire night. Never once was I waiting for a drink.... and I prove to be a very thirsty person! Turns out she also is responsible for the green thumb of the event location- absolutely beautiful! Diago was nothing short of amazing. Normally ask and you shall receive.... with Diago it was more like he already knew you will want something, and has it already in his hand when being asked- AMAZING. Taryn was absolutely a PEACH..... following the bride around and ready to assist in any way possible, making jokes to break nerves, taking photographs for us as we all goofed around. Such an enjoyable person! The flow was fantastic, and did not feel rushed one bit, which is shocking because normally being in the bridal party you are shuffled around without rhyme or reason. The food was perfection, followed up by the outstanding white glove service and so quick to pre bus tables, and not allowing for dishes to clutter up the table tops. On top of everything that Soundview has to offer as far as amazing service, the venue itself is breathtaking. I can honestly say, with over 20 years in the customer service industry, and having had worked in the bartending/catering business for weddings, I've never been this impressed. My fiance and I booked a wedding for April 24' and left minimum deposit of 2500 dollars . Because of a family issue we changed idea of where and when and had to cancel year and half before date. The place is beautiful and the girl who helped us was very nice and friendly but when we cancelled that all changed and they were very cold and told us good luck and hung up . We knew we would take loss on deposit but it was the way they were on phone that took us back a little. We were hoping that in contract being that it's a year and half away that if they book someone else for that night that maybe we would get some of deposit back but I don't believe that is case here , so just be weary when booking and looking over all the details . read more

They really screwed us over, we put down something like 6 or 7 thousand towards our wedding 5-22-2020 They said that since we had to reschedule for 2021 we could only have 50% of what we put down, so we would only got a 50% credit of $3500. And they are the ones who canceled the wedding. When we met with the owner he said it could be worse, they could have claimed bankruptcy and then no one would have gotten any money back. So yeah, I would not recommend going here or trusting them with your money. read more

Was there recently for a friends reception, and it was a beautiful place by the water. The look of the place was actually beautiful and was huge. Service was great, as well as the food. The lighting and the environment of the hall was good. I would definitely have a party there, but you could only host one party at a time. The size of the party hall os pretty decent and could hold 200 to 300 people, maybe more. You can't park your car on your own, you got do valet parking. But it's okay, we all had a great night by the end of the night. read more

Just got home from my Aunt Judy's 70th birthday at soundview and wow what a venue!!! Amazing place it's breathtaking. The staff was top top notch. Everyone was so nice, one of the bartenders was a young kid and you can tell that he was learning but he was really into it he was trying hard to get it right and make everyone happy and he was just a genuine good guy. The food was delicious, the friend shrimp they passed around during the cocktail hour might have been the best shrimp I have had in my life. My entree the salmon was delicious. We can't express enough how happy we are with our wedding day thanks to everyone at Soundview! From the beginning everything was so easy. No tricks, no surprises from what was promised. Michael is an open book and we appreciated all the honesty. I ran out of time to go over all of our details for decorations and couldn't make it back up to setup for the wedding. I had to let go and trust Nick. Best decision ever. He put everything together and even face timed me to walk me thru everything. My jaw dropped and my heart was filled with such happiness when I saw everything. He made everything I dreamed of come alive.... because he LISTENED to what we wanted and worked his magic! The day of was so beautiful and FUN!!! The entire staff left us feeling stress free and confident with all the details. They took control with every situation and things ran so smoothly. I was so upset when my Dj couldn't play a video montage I put together. I came to Mia, Nick and Michael telling them how much it meant to me. Well within minuets they made it happen. They tried ten ways till they got it working for me!! It meant SO much!! It's been a week now and my guest are still reaching out saying how breathtaking everything was and how amazing the food was. They've commented on how friendly and attentive the staff was. How the bartender was awesome and how much fun they had. Jonathan and I looked around a hundred times and kept turning to each other saying, "we did it and it's more than perfect." I wish I could relive it a hundred more times!! For me, I owe Mia a huge thank you. She was my life savor and made sure I had everything I needed. I don't know what I would have done without her. Without a doubt one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made was to find and select this place as our wedding venue. Not only was it beautiful, magical, and more than we could have ever imagined asking from a venue, the service, personalization and hospitality were incomparable. I've watched movies where people face some sort of dilemma at weddings (because of God knows what), and I also have friends who still talk about being disappointed at something that happened at their venue (which wasn't Soundview), but this never happened to us at Soundview. I have waited a bit to write a review (for fear of jinxing it) because I keep looking back at our wedding night, and I find it surreal that everything went excellently without flaw. The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, the drinks were excellent - the view is fantastic. The most important thing for me was the vibe, the energy you get from this place as soon as you walk in is indescribable -- you can feel your heart flourish and dance! So I was suppose to have my wedding at soundview buy due to the hurricane that hit my husband had to go to Puerto Rico to help his family and was going to be gone for a month or so. I called the owner of soundview and I can't even to begin to describe how nasty and rude he was when I told him I had to postpone my wedding he didn't even give a crap about what happend pretty much oh well what do you want me to do and told me that he was going to sue me for the rest of the balance. We had our daughter's wedding reception at Soundview on 9/1/19. From the ceremony space to the ballroom, the venue is beautiful, but what really makes Soundview so outstanding is its personnel. I cannot say enough about the organization, execution, and attentiveness of the Soundview staff that evening. Our Maître d', Diego, and his assistant, Diane, were on top of everything throughout the night. Andrea, the bridal attendant, was omnipresent, but unobtrusive. That is, she was always there, but you didn't realize she was there until she was filling a need you didn't even know you had. Donna was amazing behind the bar, anticipating drinks from guests as they approached. Everyone at Soundview was the same way - you didn't realize they were there until they were doing something to enhance your experience! The cocktail hour had an incredible amount of delicious food choices, followed later by perfectly cooked entrees. It was a wonderful evening, in part because of Soundview's preferred vendors, of which we used and highly recommend - Pedestal Florist, Matthew Adam Photography, and the band, Crossing Midnight Entertainment. All were instrumental in our daughter's phenomenal wedding day! Odd... also, don't use the DJ they recommend, he is not great at all, I would find someone better since entertainment is the most important part of the party. He does whatever he wants unless you keep harassing him at your own party so you're not really enjoying and he will change music themes when the dance floor is full, so people leave the dance floor. If you want an empty dance floor, use him. Also the attendant to my party took my cake to the kitchen for cutting before even cutting the cake!!! WTF?! That just ruined the ending of my party. Our daughter and now son in-law just had their wedding on Saturday July 13, 2019 at Soundview Caterers and it was spectacular! From meeting with Diane to view the venue, make all the arrangements, picking out the menu, she was with them every step of the way! And then there is Diego! He is the BEST!! he had the rehearsal and the day of the wedding running like a well oiled machine! I absolutely loved the Sound View upon my first visit. I came back with my dad and was given a tour by someone named Jerry who asked if we knew about the current promotion. Jerry informed us that if we signed up before November we would get the ceremony fee waived and a free exit station. We then booked a tasting and I brought my parents, grandma and fiancé who hadn't yet seen the venue. When we arrived Michael the owner told me he had a phone call to make. I was then asked to pay $50 per person in cash up front before the tasting. After waiting around I decided to give my family the tour myself. I was very disappointed because I wanted them to hear everything Michael had to say about the venue. We then had the tasting which was horrible. We had stale hard bread. Crab cakes made with fake crab. Uneven cooked steak. Our dessert was just ice cream. For $50. While we ate Michael the owner sat with us and told me that I reminded him of a bridezilla he once had who would email him often confirming every detail. I was shocked! I hadn't even signed up for the venue yet!! Finally, when it came to discussing the contract he refused to honor the promotion his employee had told us about. He called me a liar. When I stood by my point he reached out to the employee and confirmed what he had told me and then fired him. He did not stay by what his employee promised us and I then couldn't sign up with the venue. I need a venue where I can trust any employee and where the owner will stand by any statements or promises made by the employee. You can't trust him. He has only been in business for a few years and clearly doesn't know how to run a business which is all about customer service.I wouldn't be surprised if this place is out of business by my wedding date. read more

First off, a huge thank you to my man Barry and our girl Amanda for their non stop attention to detail and top notch service! Both went above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom were well taken care of and basically didn't have to worry about anything! They kept the bridal party fed, organized, and the drinks flowing (in a safe and fun way)! Location is stunning with the ceremony right by the water with a perfect sunset! Food was delicious, especially cocktail hour; where there was a huge variety and lines were kept moving! Bartenders were friendly, they even danced and offered to take pictures! Food servers were polite and timely! The food was even hot! Which I realize is difficult with wedding service, but very appreciated! Overall, if you are considering this venue for an upcoming wedding or party, you will NOT be disappointed! Where do I even begin? The first thing I usually hear from married couples is how something ALWAYS goes wrong, but not to worry, and just carry on. Well. I can honestly say NOTHING whatsoever went wrong with this venue. The level of professionalism, courtesy, and individual attention our wedding received was unparalleled. To begin, the ceremony was to be held outside, right along the water of the sound. The weather called for rain, and even potential hail, and to hear that Michael (the owner) was even so worried for us that HE lost sleep, was unreal. HE was as concerned for our day as we were. That was amazing. As we awaited the day's events, I was getting nervous. I wanted a quick drink to relax myself a bit, and their bar didn't stock my drink of choice. I could not believe when one of the employees left, went to the store, and bought it for me. At another point, I went running outside barefoot, and the bridal attendant chased me outside, carrying my shoes. They watched me every step of the way, and provided service second to none. The place is immaculately kept. Michael runs a tight ship, making sure every detail is captured. The food is also unbelievable. All of our guests commented on how good it was. Before you're even served dinner, Soundview provides copious amounts of food during cocktail hour, and each option more delicious than the last. It's comparable to being in a fine dining restaurant, and NOTHING like typical wedding fare. I truly cannot recommend Soundview enough. I am thoroughly impressed with how well everything went at our wedding. One of the best places i've been to for a wedding. The couple had their ceremony outside right on the water. We were then escorted to the cocktail room downstairs and cocktail hour was great. The food was way better than most places i've been to for weddings. Eggplant rollatini and fried calamari with hot peppers was killer. Large cheese display with hard cheeses and tons of fresh mozz. Pasta station with yummy penne ala vodka, lobster ravioli, and tortellini in cream sauce. Asian selections and a carving station as well. The only things I didn't care for were the sliders and stuffed mushrooms. The reception room was lovely and clean. Some of their staff looked a bit rough around the edges, messy hair etc. but they gave excellent service throughout the night. The bartender was also fast and friendly. Maître d' was fantastic and paid attention to all the details of the night. My sister has a nut allergy and when the salads were brought out with nuts in them, I asked if she could have one sans nuts. He radioed down to the kitchen and a new fresh nut free salad was brought back in just a couple of minutes. A great spot for a wedding small or large. read more

Michael and his staff, mostly family, transformed an otherwise ordinary Saturday evening into a magical, fairy-tale spectacular for the ages. From the beauty of venue itself, to the pre-ceremony drinks and lemonade, to the Game-of-Thrones-like cocktail smorgasbord, to the bridal attendant and suite, to the actual seated dinner, and finally to the after-reception White Castle sliders, Gelato bar and Hot Dog cart, Soundview pull no punches and delivered all components with a quality and professionalism that made 90% of our guest say "This is the best wedding I have ever been to." The Set-up: Michael and his staff were very flexible and accommodating as my bride and I went through the venue and food selection process. The staff provided one-on-one appointments where they dedicated time to walk us around the venue (several different times) and discuss menu options. Soundview was very open to providing and even swapping out food items to fit our gastro-needs. Michael and the Soundview staff are experts in this business and were able to enhance our wedding by providing additional non-venue suggestions. When discussing the cocktail hour, the Maître D', Aldiana, suggested that we do a first look at the Arboretum so that we could actually spend more time with our guest and my cheese selection during that time!!! Michael and his staff were very responsive to my bride's inquiries and concerns once we booked the venue. As we live in Manhattan, they even allowed her to ship several last minute items to Soundview directly to them for safe keeping. The Big Day: The most amazing part of it all was everything that was talked about, agreed upon and promised was delivered. Full stop. There was not one hiccup, not one. And because of the attention to detail, the follow through, the personal bride and groom attention, we were both able to enjoy our wedding ceremony, cocktail, and reception without once consciously thinking about venue and/or catering events. We were carted back to the outdoor ceremony location from the hall to finish our last photos without hesitation. All of the cocktail hour food selections were waiting in the bridal suite as we arrived post ceremony. My glass of my favorite single-malt scotch was never empty and I never once went to the bar. We tasted all of the food choices without ever asking. Soundview Caters - I fully understand where the Soundview part of the name originated from. As anyone can see from their photos, the outdoor ceremony venue is adjacent to the Long Island Sound, and provide break taking views for sunset weddings, like mine. But it wasn't until my actual wedding day did I fully realize the "Carters" part of the name. At first glance, one might only think of the act of providing food and beverages to large parties. However, I believe that the true meaning is that Michael, his family and his staff will cater to your every need, even the ones you didn't know you had. Hello all. I wanted to take some time and share with you, the unforgettable event we held, hosted and shared with Soundview Caterers. On May 30, 2015 our newest addition was baptized in Oyster Bay and we choose to celebrate this rite of passage at Soundview Caterers, in Bayville, New York, as this is truly a venue for all seasons to host the event of a lifetime! Upon arriving at SC, I entered one of the coziest, warm and elegant foyers. Michael, the owner, was awaiting my arrival. I immediately noticed the extensive and gorgeous renovations Michael had orchestrated. After speaking for a few minutes we moved toward the ballroom, where the double doors were closed. When Michael opened the first door, I couldn't believe what I was seeing: the sheer, unadulterated elegance of the décor coupled with one of the most breathtaking views of the Long Island sound from the floor-to-ceiling windows inspired chills. The chandeliers - 3 of them - sparkle from the natural light adorning the room, and glimmer in the "show lights" built into the lighting system. The dance floor is large and centered in the room to allow guests on both sides to enjoy the party. And the rest of the place did not disappoint! All of the renovations and updates have put SC on the map as one of the most elegant and detail oriented catering halls on Long Island. Michael and I sat down and looked over some of the catering packages available at SC, and perhaps one of the most enlightening aspects of working with SC is knowing EXACTLY you will be paying per person! Please read that again: SC Caterers gives you a per-person price that includes ALL taxes, gratuities, etc. At SC, if Michael tells you that based on your selections it is $85.00 per person, then all you have to do is tally up the total number of people coming, multiple that by $85.00, and you have a firm, final cost based on that number. The entire process between booking and partying was seamless. Aldiana and Michael were both so involved in each step, and thankfully, made themselves available to me since I live in PA. Aldiana called me with friendly reminders and offered her opinions on several different things. She knows what she is talking about. When I met with Michael on finalizing the food selections, he told me he could make anything I wanted, as he was going to be the chef for the party. Their sample menu that they showed me sounded so delicious, I didn't make any changes. The party itself was amazing! The room was set up more beautifully than I imagined and my guests were treated to the most delicious food by the most accommodating and well-presented staff. The entire TEAM of waiters, waitresses and bartenders not only looked clean and professional, they were kind and considerate of everyone they encountered, including each other. Aldiana was the most gracious of hosts, ensuring that everyone was well taken care of and there was no request they didn't meet. The staff at SC is phenomenal. The entire facility is state-of-the-art; it is classy, elegant and offers the most breathtaking views. Take the time to go to Bayville and see for yourself. SUPERB!!! EXEMPLARY!!!! FIVE STAR SERVICE!!!! These are the praises we have heard in the days following our wedding on October 20, 2018. We had our ceremony by the water and it was STELLAR!!! Our guests then proceeded to the cocktail hour, we've been called so many times just to let us know how Fabulous and Extraordinary the cocktail hour was. Our reception was to us beyond Elegant, but to hear from our guests how well they were treated by Michael and his staff speaks volumes. Our dinner was amazing, the drinks were handled meticulously by the bartenders. Ricky our Matre'd was within eyesight at almost every turn. "They deserve an award" was a text I received about the staff. Very attentive and courteous. We couldn't have been happier to hear these praises from our family and friends. If there was a way to elevate our experience at Soundview Caterers I don't know how that would be possible. Where can I even begin? My husband and I got married on July 2, 2016 and could not have asked for a better venue. EVERYTHING was perfect! The food was absolutely amazing, especially the cocktail hour where guests could not stop raving about the selection and quality of the food. Michael, the owner of Soundview is also the head chef, and made sure nothing left his kitchen unless it was absolutely perfect. Everything was prepared fresh, and it showed. Our friends and family were stunned by the amazing views as well as the classy and elegant ambiance of the newly renovated the hall. It looked absolutely exquisite! The best part was that we had the whole place to ourselves and were treated like king and queen the entire time. Nicholas, our maitre de was absolutely amazing! He made sure everything ran effortlessly, and constantly checked in on us to make sure that we were happy. Mia, Michael's daughter was extremely helpful. She assisted us in anything we needed throughout the night, and even played with my 2 year old nephew. Thank you for treating us like family. I cannot say enough about how great Soundview is. Attended a wedding there last week. Food was Amazing! Cocktail hour food was great but dinner was better than I have ever had at any wedding ever. Filet mignon and chilean sea bass were The Best i have ever had - cooked perfectly. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. My only complaint - there is no elevator. Cocktail hour and bathrooms are downstairs, which is extremely difficult for older people. Please look into this - I would have chosen this venue for my wedding a few years ago if there was an elevator. (My dad was blind - no way I was able to get him up and down the stairs) read more
