Terrific sourdough crust pizza. Square portions. A focused menu, meaning you do not have multiple dozens of choices (not a bad thing IMHO). That crispy, crunchy thick crust is wonderful. Hearty toppings. The ambience is basic. A few tables and a bit of sidewalk facing counter space. Some local artwork on the walls. Come for sourdough pizza. Oh man.

Chewy but crispy crust with a selection of just about all my favorite toppings. I started with sausage green pepper and my daughter had cheese. Excellent selection of soft drinks in cooler (Jaritos, Polar Orange Dry...) You can eat there but not great atmosphere. And I could feel the cold on my feet and legs so not even cozy warm in winter. The other thing I would mention is that my slice was not hot in the middle. I'm guessing that is an issue with all slices. Needed more time in oven. Oh yeah, make sure you check the hours.

The eagle square or classic cheese were my favorites. The sourdough taste wasn't super strong but you could definitely tell the crust was different. And the fresh basil on top is always a superior addition. Service was nice. Little window shop with a couple wooden booths and stools.

I loved everything about this place! Walked in and was very warmly greeted. Several slice options. It's very rare to even find slices anymore. They heated it and within 3 minutes, we were enjoying the most delicious slice of pizza I've had in a LONG time. The crust and sauce were perfection. The pepperoni was crispy. So, so good. Very clean, cutely decorated, and they recycle!

The vodka and fungi slices. Damn good

I'm in concord periodically and most of the surrounding restaurants aren't worth visiting. this place is the exception and probably the only place I'll go when I'm in that city. The pizza is outstanding, the service friendly and most importantly they have RC COLA!!!! Not sure what black magic they're using, but keep it going. Nothing like an old style pizzeria to bring back the nostalgia of the neighborhood I grew up in. Keep it up

Glad to see this place continuing to do well. I had the eagle slice, funghi, and Buffalo blue cheese. All were great, the highlight is the crispy crust. The bite of the eagle with the ricotta and basil was absolutely heavenly. Glad they do pizza by the slice as well.

Sour Joe's Pizzeria (The Pizza Project) opened their physical location in Downtown Concord on Pleasant St Ext between Main St and Storrs St. They have been doing pizza pop-ups around the area, mainly at local breweries and festivals. They offer several kinds of square/rectangular pizza slices with a homemade sourdough crust which changes often and may include the Eagle Square, Fungi, Sausage Pepper, Margherita, Spinach & Artichoke, Spicy Calabrese, Potatoes Rosemary, and Vodka, $5-$6 plus tax for each slice. The pizza slices selection changes each day and is sort of similar to Sicilian and Detroit style, except the sourdough crust is semi thick, not greasy and no extra tomato sauce covering the pizza. They also offer cold drinks from the cooler. They cater to the Downtown Concord lunchtime crowd and they are open until sold out and their hours vary. They closed early on Tuesday since they were overwhelmed by demand and sold out of product. I stopped by Sour Joe's Pizzeria for lunch takeout during my lunch break twice in the same week. They had 5-6 kinds of pizza slices to choose from on display. On the first visit, I picked up two slices including the Eagle Square ($6 plus tax) and a Sausage Pepper ($6 plus tax) and I was in and out quickly. On the second visit, word of mouth must have spread quickly and the place was very busy with 5-15 minute waits for pizza slices. I also picked up two slices again including the Margherita ($5 plus tax) and the Spinach Artichoke ($5.75 plus tax). Total second visit time was 17 minutes. Each of the slices had a good tasty combination of toppings on top of their semi thick soft & slightly chewy sourdough crust. The Eagle Square had pepperoni, crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, hot honey mozzarella cheese, and soft sweet ricotta cheese. The Sausage Pepper had pieces of ground sausage, mozzarella, marinated cherry peppers, crushed tomatoes, fresh basil. Each slices was excellent and I finished both slices before resuming work. The Margherita had fresh mozzarella, crushed tomatoes, basil, olive oil. The Spinach Artichoke had fresh spinach, artichoke hearts, feta, mozzarella. Sour Joe's is now one of my new lunch spots for pizza slices! Just be aware the place can get extremely busy during the lunch rush.

This pizza rocks!! The pepperoni was my favorite but they were all so good. Casual seating, just a handful of tables. Will absolutely be back!

Fungai 2.0 and the weekly special.

I've been coming to this place since they opened a few months ago. I seriously need to limit myself, as I can easily go broke eating an entire pizza for every meal of every day. The place is quiet, well arranged, and makes for an easy place to drop in and grab a slice. While it may not be set up for large groups, there's always to option to take an entire pie home and follow their reheating instructions. What really makes this place isn't just the sour dough pizza they make fresh every day, it's the incredible staff that work here who all seem to have a passion for service and the best pizza in Concord. Check out the weekly specials and the staples of this place. Whatever you order, you will be completely satisfied.

Crust is phenomenal and the mushroom pizza is out of this world. About $6 for a pretty good size rectangle.

We were able to park close by and get in before the big crowd. Barley seems like a happening place. An upscale Irish Pub, for sure! The set up is a bar with a decent amount of restaurant booth seating. Of course, there were tables of different sizes available, as well. We were given a 10 minute wait after meeting with the Hostess. There was alot of activity around the bar and lots of drinks coming out of the bar well....always a good sign! When our time was up, we were quickly escorted to our table. We were each given a menu and a drink menu. Lots to choose from on both menus (see the pic below) I ordered the chicken sandwich with caramelized onions and my son ordered a Chicken Pot Pie. He had a beer and we both had water with a lemon. The food came rather quickly. I was immediately taken back when the caramelized onion was not on my sandwich. I was going to ask the waittress to fix it but it was far to busy and it was not a big deal. Of course, I would have enjoyed the onion but "no big deal". My son's Chicken Pot Pie was a good size and was thrilled with it. We both ate everything on our plates. Our waitress checked in with us a few times to refill, which was nice and came to take the plates away after we were finished. We did not get any dessert. To be honest, we did not see a lot of dessert plates coming to other tables, either. We were thinking maybe people leave to get ice cream at one of the nearby establishments. 5-Stars Price: Fair Parking: plenty near by Vibe: perfect...I would like to watch a game, someday, at the bar Pepsi/Coke: Coke Would I come again? Everything our party of four ordered was a disappointment, starting with an ice-tea cocktail that was undrinkable-- our nice waitress took it off the bill. My grilled salmon on a bed of rice arrived as dry as the Sahara, surrounded by burnt roasted carrots -- at least I think that's what they were. My husband's steak he ordered medium rare was also way overdone, served a block of with cold mashed potatoes. The overly sweet Apple Pumpkin Bisque (for $9) went uneaten after each of us tried a spoonful -- it was more like a bowl of pie filling than soup. Even the dessert, bread pudding with some whipped cream, was gloppy and unappetizing. This is a great place to go if you are fasting.
