We decided to try this place recently, as the reviews seemed very good. First, our waitress seemed very new; she asked us if we wanted an alcoholic beverage, instead of "Can I get you something to drink?" We ordered sodas, an 8-oz glass filled with ice and 6 ounces of soda for $2.99. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer: 4 pieces of bread toasted (2 were burnt), with a little mozzarella, tomatoes, and a balsamic drizzle. The mozzarella was diced so small you couldn't keep it on the bread. For dinner, we had chicken Parmesan and veal Parmesan, both served with homemade linguine with marinara. Both were very good, though our chicken and veal were burnt on the edges. They were supposed to come with bread and didn't. We were never asked if we wanted refills. We tried the cannoli for dessert. Found this gem of an Italian restaurant on a trip through Concord. Hearty Minestrone soup was a great start (and could be a meal for some). Chicken piccata with homemade angel hair pasta was great and too large a portion for one sitting so we took it to go. Every recommendation of the staff was delicious. We were visiting Concord before the half marathon so naturally we had to enjoy the best Italian in town. Ambiance, very well lit at night, not like a cozy, intimate date spot (but you can still go on a date ofc). It was more cafe like to me than old school Italian joint. This is simply a review, not a dig. Waitresses were nice. Ours was much more attentive than the table next to us who had a young gal. They nearly walked out once before ordering and once after while waiting or food. I'm not sure it was a kitchen issue, our food came out right away, but it seemed to be a waitress issue. The restaurant was full, every table was taken. IIt was weird the table across from us. already was there with drinks when we arrived but we received our food before them too. Our waitress was wonderful, older gal who wore a headband/head wrap. Would ask to be in her section next time too. Pizza - we ordered the bbq pizza as it seemed lean and simple. It was very nice, not too much cheese so we actually ate the whole large thing. Crust was thin and good. Custom pasta - would not do this again, it was much too expensive. We paid extra for a meat sauce and for chicken so it ended up being over $20 for the dish. I understand we are supporting a small business, so I have no regrets, but I think there are better value options to also try. Cesar was ok, but too many stalks in romaine and not enough green leafy. Seemed toward the end of life also. Parmesan on top was thick and flavorful. I would like to return for a lunch here, and overall would return. read more

Love being at a restaurant with a present owner who has such passion for food and service, Remi is incredible! Adrianna gave us great service and helped my picky-self choose a delicious meal. We had the pesce fresco, godfather burger, minestrone soup, and wildwood cream soup. It took effort to hold myself back from licking my bowl after I finished the wildwood soup! Didn't have room for dessert but I am hoping to return when Nonna has made her baklava!! We are from Boston and are used to going to the North End and weren't expecting too much from this NH spot, and this was a welcomed surprise! The food is all homemade. We ordered the Italian Sampler and all the eggplant Parmesan eggrolls were amazing. And then we got chicken Parmesan and Chicken Lemony, the chicken was perfectly battered! The restaurant was empty when I arrived at 3 o'clock on Thursday, I decided on spaghettini and meat sauce, but wanted to taste the marinara so she gave me a small portion, which was very nice of her and it was good. I liked it. It reminded me of mine. I also got eggplant which came as a side and they charged me another extra 550. I thought it was rather expensive for a bowl of pasta couple pieces of eggplant but it came to about $27. No drinks just water. The pasta was good. The sauce was good. Went to Nonna's last night with a good friend after we had read many great reviews. Sat at the bar - the servers kept asking me if I was picking up DoorDash. I told them I was not, that I wanted to dine at the bar. They finally understood that I was there to dine in. I ordered wine - it was subpar. My friend really wanted a creamy espresso martini. Rather than telling us that they do not have a full bar (FYI they DO NOT) they made her an "espresso martini". Neither one of us is sure what it was. It was bitter, sour and not creamy at all. As a bartender, this is very disheartening. Just be honest up front that you cannot make one. All of the food was meh - the fried ravioli appetizer was in wonton wraps. I've never had thicker inedible soup as the tomato bisque and there was no truffle at all in the truffle parm fries. My friend ordered a calzone with chicken broccoli and garlic and it was $25!!!! The cost would have been fine if it was worth it. Eaten in more NYC Italian restaurants than I can count - NEVER paid that much for a calzone. Haven't paid that much for a calzone in freaking Manchester, NH. The servers were all confused and unsure of what was going on, who had what section, what table, what the specials were. Honestly 10/10 Nonna's Place was fabulous. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful. Genuinely have nothing but rave reviews to give to this restaurant. We were driving from Boston to Vermont and in dire need of good food. And let me tell you, there's nothing worse than bad food on a roadtrip - even if it's expected. Hands down Nonna's had one of the best eggplant parm subs I've ever had. Absolutely delicious and fresh. We also got the handmade pasta with pesto and also, so light and fresh and absolutely perfect.
