I have been a patient of Dr. Stuart's for nearly nine years…read more At first, my work hours and assignment locations (north central Portland) allowed me greater convenience to select flexible appointments. Later, when my hours and work location (I'm in Beaverton now) moved me further away and sometimes limited my choice of appointment times, I ignored the advice of many of my friends telling me to locate a closer Chiropractor and stayed with Dr. Stuart; her being the ONLY reason or need for me to come into Portland (from west Beaverton to east Portland). I tell you this because she is the genuine article. She's worth my trip. One thing she won't do is toot her own horn. She plays it off, but she cares a great deal about her clients care and well being. Dr. Stuart is meticulous and compassionate in getting to the root of your discomfort and finding the cause. She also respects her patient's privacy. She is prompt with her appointments; your time with her IS your time; she doesn't double or triple book like some offices. She works the neck, head, spine and hips and has even done some TMJ work on me; doing wonders for my pain management! She has a modified schedule (closed Thursdays but open Saturdays) to help accommodate those with weird schedules. Her office also utilizes several Licensed Massage Therapists if the need (and your insurance covers) arises. Sorry, it's not just the Doc; they also work miracles by the hour as well. (I'm coping with the idea that my favorite therapist is leaving someday soon to become one of our nation's BEST nurses...so proud!) She bills some insurance (you'll need to call, I don't know who). I've seen worker's comp cases come in, but since it wasn't any of my business, I didn't pay any attention; I can't tell you about what is and isn't accepted. Give Dr. Stuart a call. Stop in and give her a chance. It says "Appointment Only" below, which is mostly true. Sometimes they have cancellations and they may be able to fit you in...keep in mind Then find out if your insurance covers the massage with it. If not, see if you can handle that part of the cost. The SMARTEST THING in pain management I've ever seen was to have a Massage Therapist in a Chiropractor's office. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. I should have written this review months ago but today was the Ah-ha moment. I called around several chiros around my area for an urgent appointment , I was in desperate need of a chiropractor. I had been at that time battling post herpetic neuralgia from shingles for about a year and a half with PT medical massages injections and oral meds with no improvement. I was at the point where the pain was making me incredibly depressed and I was going on a trip where I would had to sit on a plane for a long time so I wanted to get adjusted before my trip. I finally found this office that had an opening and I came in had an evaluation and it was adjusted that day. I felt a lot better immediately unlike my other visits with other Chiropractor's. Dr. Robinson's office had warned that my recovery might take up to a year but honestly I felt 100% by month 4. Essentially zero pain from the post herpetic neuralgia. It wasn't until today that I realized after a maintenance medical massage that this new discomfort I have been feeling, was due to an upper rib being unaligned. My LMT had tried to correct it, but said that I might need a chiropractor because she believed that a rib was stuck. Immediately after my massage appointment, I called Dr. Robinson's office and he was able to squeeze me in. I am so eternally grateful because as soon as I came in and showed him what was hurting and what made it hurt - he diagnosed it and got everything back in order. I got off the table and try to replicate the pain and it was still there a little bit, Dr. Robinson had mentioned that it might still be a little bit sore especially because it had just been worked on by the LMT, but wanted to make sure that everything was back in place so I got back on the table and after that second adjustment I was instantly able to breathe better more deeply, and there's absolutely no pain. I am so thankful I found the office. The entire staff (Dr. Hudson, Brandy, Dana) are immensely, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend coming here if you have any pains that have anything to do with alignment. OHHHH and Dr Hudson is the baby whisperer for infant, toddler, and children! She offers chiro care for children! She's amazing! I have not brought in my own children (didn't think they needed it but after reading how it could help them I think I will!) but have seen her with her clients and she's honestly so gentle and kind and has the BEST energy! I told a friend that my entire body was messed up but…read morethat going into the chiropractor or going in for a massage, just didn't seem essential enough during a pandemic. Thus, it's been over a year since anyone in our household has been adjusted and we were all paying for it. Constant *crunchy* sounding joints during movement and stretching. Constant complaining of nerve pain, muscle pain and headaches. Neck and shoulder stiffness making it impossible to find a comfortable sleep position, disrupting the ability to fall asleep quickly or soundly. That same friend told me about Dr. Gentry at New Spine Chiropractic. He has an office but also, does home visits. He wears an N95 mask, sanitizes everything after he sets up in your home. Basically does everything possible to take all the precautions for Covid safety. If you have more than one person needing services, he offers a discount. That could be relations or even just friends or neighbors. He worked on my husband first and then me, leaving us both questioning why we ever thought chiropractic maintenance wasn't essential enough. We could have avoided months of pain and complaints. Especially with the home visit option. Dr. Gentry popped things back into place, that I didn't know needed to be or could be popped back into place. I've had hundreds of hours of service between chiropractor, accupuncture, massage and physical therapy. Yet he had methods and results that I haven't seen before. The results being immediate relief that melted me like butter. For instance, the outside of my shoulder area, where you actually apply your own pressure against his arm position and *pop pop pop pop pop pop." My upper ribs were all out and pulling everything up, causing more issues on my shoulders and the worst headaches. Those were all fire work sounding adjustments as well. My lower back had some gnarly pops, too. He used some gadgets after (names escape me) that were fantastic, as well as a pinch and pull method of quick massage. Adjustments only happening after he took my vitals, as he would in clinic. Did I mention I'm almost 6.5 months pregnant? He made sure to do enough pressure and adjustments to help my quality of life with pain, yet not so much pressure because ... well... pregnant. His way of thought is getting you adjusted but also, helping you change your lifestyle so that adjustment isn't always needed. He showed us stretches to keep up on, to help with the specific problem areas that we have. We are definitely having him come back, I know we'll need more appointments until we get anywhere close to being able to manage this with fewer adjustments. I have spine issues from an old MVA, that I was told were permanent, so I don't ever expect to be chiro/massage free. However, the additional stretching and diet/vitamin suggestions were both informative and a sign of his overall genuine care for his patients well being vs being appointment hungry. I couldn't echo my friends recommendation more strongly, when I say that you can't go wrong with Dr. Chase Gentry. His knowledge and skill is top notch. Whether in-home or in-clinic, you'll be treated with the same professional care. Last thing, for in-home visits he left us with a bill/receipt to submit to our insurance after for reimbursement. In-office visits, insurance is done through the office. Easy peasy, lemon squeezey.

I have been trying for three weeks now to get a simple statement showing my payments to MFCC for FSA substantiation and just now received an email bounceback that their office is closed all week. Firstly, it's impossible to reach the front desk - voicemail only. Then they call you back from an unlisted number, so it's impossible to know who is calling. Argh. Then, the doctor requires that you submit new patient paperwork via email for her to review before you are allowed to make an appointment. The reason given is that she might decide she doesn't think you fit in her practice. It then takes a week to hear back after emailing over the paperwork. after which, you need to follow up with them, if you want an appointment. No courtesy call the day before to remind you there's an appointment, so you call to see what's doing there and have to let it ring out and call again. Receptionist answers finally and confirms yes, you do have an appointment. You arrive 10 minutes early, then wait until 25 mins past the start of your appointment time to speak with the Doctor. The Doctor is thorough and nice (if quite defensive about being called out for being so late). Attempts by staff to draw blood - the student MA's attempt is painful and she aborts mission. (Bruise is already looking pretty gnarly) Bring in the senior tech to have a go at the other arm - who can't find a vein and aborts mission after digging around for a bit. At this stage, I've been at their office for 1 Hr 40 mins. They tell me they will write a script to go to a lab and have blood drawn. Knowing my personal compliance level to find the time to drive to yet another appointment is very low, tell them not to bother. Needless to say, despite friendly student medical assistant and thorough/friendly Doctor, I'm still in the market for a new GP. A busy schedule, low tolerance for being gratuitously poked with needles and a general aversion to waiting = this probably isn't the right place for me.
