My daughters have been at Champions for 4 years and are now part of the EPIC Elite Cheer program…read more I asked my girls to describe the program, and one said that "The coaches make us work very hard, but they make it fun." The coaches are positive and focus on safety, and there is a sense of mutual respect between coaches and athletes. There are a lot of optional extra classes in tumbling, flexibility, jumps, and stunting; my girls would go to the gym every day if I let them. The community at EPIC Elite is great - there are fun, positive parents which makes team bonding events a pleasure, as opposed to a chore. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The new program started at the beginning of the summer, so I'll update when we're a little further into the year. As a new program, some of the processes and communication are still being ironed out, but the pros far outweigh the growing pains.

It was such a waste of time and money. The teacher has no plan and is just on her phone most of the time. For literally an hour and a half. And it's more expensive to have this girl just sit around with ur kids and be on her phone and try a couple things every now and then. The other focus class my daughter took was better but I just don't feel like she's learning much. Anytime my kids took gymnastics they learned this stuff a lot faster. Same with dance. Idk we probably won't be doing it much longer. The older classes seem better the classes my kid took were 8and under I think

The facility is beautiful, the camps and classes were always enjoyable, and most of the instructors have been absolutely amazing with the children. Unfortunately, things changed after a new coach named Val was hired. At first, I tried not to judge and wanted to give her a fair chance, but over time I became very uncomfortable with the way she interacted with the kids. I noticed her making disappointed facial expressions toward them and speaking negatively about children behind their backs, which I found very unprofessional and upsetting as a parent. We really did not want to leave because my daughter loved so much about this gym, but after this experience we felt it was best to switch elsewhere. Overall, I would still recommend this gym because the majority of the staff and programs are wonderful. However, I do hope management addresses concerns regarding Coach Val, because otherwise this easily would have been a 5-star experience for our family.

However, I was shocked to find that my child was not only UNSUPERVISED, but that the individual responsible was not wearing a mask and was on his phone. A gym is a place with a lot of dangerous equipment and opportunities for children to get hurt easily - that is why they are paid to supervise our children! At this point, it has been months since the mask mandate has been in place and the staff DO NOT WEAR MASKS. The front desk does not try to hide this fact as they hang their masks over their foreheads without covering their noses/mouths. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. It is unsafe for your family.

Constructive criticism is not the culture here but instead the owner Paige allows the coaches to do or say whatever they want to these children. Good luck trying to reach her because she takes days to reply to emails and can hardly be found in the office at the gym. Don't let your child be on the same level as her daughter because your child will always be yelled at by coaches even if it's her daughters mistake. Which brings me to favoritism. Coaches give seniority to the children who are paying them on the side for private lessons. This gym will state many things in their long contract but they pick and choose who they want to hold accountable to it. Majority of parents will have to buy practice wear at over $200 but some parents can choose it as optional while others are told it's mandatory. Favoritism can be conditioning for petty little things like bows, some girls can wear whatever bow they want and its ok. Others are made to condition for not wearing the practice bow. That goes for being late too. If your not on their good side they will take it out on your child. If you show up late your child is retaliated against and you will see other parents arrive late consecutively but those children are not ridiculed or embarrassed in front of the whole team. This gym loves to win even though this is not always the case. When TXPA loses they verbally abuse the team even if it is the coaches fault for coaching them incorrectly i.e. to do a stunt that was wrong because they did not have a back spot or doing a stunt that's not on their skill level. This gym says they want to be the best and it states in their contract that your child will be removed if they cannot meet the skill level required. This is not the case. You will pay them thousands of dollars for your child while you witness some girls not being able to do a back walk over or front walk over IN COMPETITON SEASON. I pulled my child a week before summit. Yes granted they received a summit bid because the team that won 1st place had already received a bid and the bid went to the next highest scoring team (TXPA). I was hesitant from the start because immediately after they won the bid they brought down girls from level 2 and 3. They used the excuse that we can do whatever we want and take whomever we want to summit. I pulled my child because she took a flight class, tumble class, was a flier all season and helped win that bid but a week before summit they brought down another girl. My daughter came out crying because she said they put her in the back to stand there while all the other girls that moved down were put in an elite. They did this to multiple girls and they do not see anything wrong to this because they want to win at any cost even if it makes the original girls of the team that won the bid feel like an alternate or not good enough because they are being replaced by girls from a higher level. Paige didn't like my text to the coach stating everything above and on "group me" to the parents so she told us to not return next season. Which of course that's a no brainer. I don't want to give this business thousands of dollars for my daughter to stand in the back because you want to bring down girls from a higher level that didn't win a bid at all and replace the girls that worked since summer to win the bid. And don't try to speak to these coaches or Paige because there's an excuse for every action even though they contradict everything they say or what's written in their contract. When they first started they were a really good gym but one of the coaches that helped them win all those champions has left to another gym. So many people left for reasons such as the contract and because of the other coaches departure. Oh and I left out the "clique" of moms...different cliques. It's like high school all over again. I don't know if some live their dream out through their daughter or if they really just have no life. They love to sit/stand around and gossip about each other or portray themselves as better because of their financial status. p.s Two comments left below are from the owner and the director's mother who organizes the hotels for the gym with housing connection. Monica is not only an amazing teacher, but an incredible support for helping us raise our children in the best possible way. Our daughter is so confident, has learned how to play independently and be at ease in a way we never saw before. Her imagination and love for art have grown so much, as well as her physical strength. She can climb trees, and play with just about any rock or stick anywhere we go. The love and dedication Monica put into this program and all the children is very clear, and the amazing bonus has been the great community of caring parents we have met through the school.
