To be fair, this AMC waits until the main attraction to get the air on. It's annoying to sit through about half an hour of previews, plus a few commercials - even an AMC one. Hey, we're already in your theater... Anyhow parking here is really plentiful since a good amount of stores are vacant. The concession stand service was quick and well-stocked. Theater 8 has all comfortable reclining seats AND trays with cup holders. Very cool detail, AMC. Good thing there was a tray as it had an unintentional function. I placed my cup on it to block an aisle lower light that kept flashing. What an irritating distraction. The bathrooms were clean but inconsistent. Some faucet water was hot and some stall doors only close after being slammed. If you go see movies regularly, their membership seems to have good perks.

[Ordering]: Our party recently came here to watch Ponyo (part of Studio Ghibli Fest 2026) and I was able to avoid the online convenience fee by purchasing tickets through the onsite kiosks. [Theater]: Comfortable reclining seats and a full bar. [Conclusion]: I like this AMC much better than AMC Rolling Hills 20 as the standard tickets at AMC Rolling Hills 20 are not recline seats. P.S. - There are ongoing plans to redevelop South Bay Galleria into a mixed-use complex in the coming years as well as plans for the K Line Extension to Torrance (including a station directly adjacent to the Galleria - projected to open in 2036).

The arcade is worse than ever, not a single story based game! The whole place needs a rethink, the interior has all sorts of areas that feel empty. If I came back I would almost for sure sign up for it, because it's at least reasonable to get unlimited movies for $26 or whatever they charge. Hope they do more to build community here. People at the actual theater have zero authority to help you (or if they do, they don't do anything to help you with those older cards). To be fair, one of the guys at this location was helpful to us when buying tickets . Actually suggested buying tickets to the cheaper screening but we wanted to try the Dolby one. The theater is a little dated, seats are not as favorable for couples as they are for singles. Free parking in the parking garage or outside lot. The parking garage is a bit of a distance if you are used to parking close to a door. We're spending more time at the Beach Cities theater. Closer parking, very good deals on Tuesdays, and discounts if you are a member or a senior. Pick wisely and...enjoy!!!

He's been in other performances elsewhere. His dad is a musician, so maybe that's an inspiration for his creative arts passion? We arrived early, but wasn't aware of the free lot in the back (though it was likely full for the performance or taken up by tennis players) until after the show. We spent the next 20-mins. circling around & around, hoping someone would leave a street parking spot. We finally found a free spot on 9th St. off Ardmore Ave., by the time we arrived, we missed 15-mins. of the show. Aaaugh! We didn't have the playbill so I wasn't sure if we missed his friend's initial queue (luckily he wasn't on until after intermission). It was quite obvious after a few minutes that the kids' performance caliber was top notch!! I just wished we would have made it on time to watch the opening curtain/beginning! ＼(｀0´)／ It was only $20/ticket, that I wouldn't mind a repeat but this was the last show. I'm somewhat familiar with the story, but it's been decades since I read the book. All the scenes were marvelous (though we missed the Prologue & Scene 1 so can't comment on that), but the Mad Tea Party's Unbirthday & I'm Late reprise (Scene 7... yeah, I'm biased because of our friend), Seeing Red's Painting the Roses Red & Simon Says (Scene 8; "Simon Says" replaced the croquet tournament story in the book) were standout scenes. They're South Bay's original student led performing arts organization that's nonprofit & dedicated to youth theater. I loved that they're inclusive of all who are interested in the creative arts regardless of skill level or prior experience. If there were newbies with the "bug" to perform, it wasn't noticeable because every performer were immersed in his/her role. Several performer parents played a part in the theatre crew as backstage crew & make-up assistants to help ensure success. Hermosa Beach Community Theatre is 502-seat theater that's located east of the Hermosa Beach Community Center, often used by youth musical theatre groups, dance productions, & other variety shows for local residents to experience the joys of cultural arts. It has a spacious stage to hold a large number of performers, box office, decent lobby area (hang out with the performers after the show), & restrooms (around the corner of the box office). There's a couple of stalls & sinks in the women's restroom so hold the liquids, especially if it's a packed house! According to other reviewers, there's a concession stand (wasn't available for this play); I'm assuming you can eat & drink in the lobby, or just outside of the theater during intermission. I didn't grow up going to the theatre or had any interest in "acting"performing (though I did sing 3 years as a soprano in chorus & played the violin in orchestra in elementary school, earning 1st chair in a few performances). I will say, if you are attending a popular screening that will be sold out or close to sold out, and you want to buy concessions, it may be best to get there 45-1 hour before. They only have one register and are a small team, I waited in line for a little more than 30 mins and I arrived 30 mins before the screening. The staff are friendly and great! Seats are comfortable for being standard non-recliners. Im looking forward to coming back!

You absolutely have to see a film at the Old Town Music Hall!!!!…read more We went for my partners birthday and it was so exciting to see the 100 year old Wurlitzer in all its glory. We saw a rare Gloria Swanson silent film along w a talk by a brilliant film historian. Every show opens with a little performance but we were lucky enough to see a silent film which means that the organist live scores the entire film just as it would have been done in the 20s ! Such a special experience, and a must for any fans of music, film, and LA history.

I'm constantly going to revival and old theaters like The Egyptian, New Beverly, and Aero theatre and wanted to add this one to the rotation. Essentially, they transport you back in time to the early 20th century when movie theaters started taking off! And not just about the old films they show, we're talking OG Dr. Pepper in a glass bottle and lobby cards and photos on the wall. A giant Wurlitzer organ where our organist started off the night's festivities with a few words of history and a few songs on the organ. We even did some sing-alongs lol. Everyone in the red vests are volunteers keeping this running. You can sense the deep passion they all have for preserving this history and a deep love of cinema. Got a brochure calendar for showings through June and will now make sure I come out at least once a month.
