Went to have blood drawn on May 29th at the Clinic at Ironwood. The girl that drew blood was amazing! She was quick and with one poke had the vials filled. Put gauze on and there wasn't a drop of blood on the gauze! I have never had that before! A very good experience! I wish I had seen her name but I didn't. read more

They are the most difficult to deal with. I was referred and called to schedule a new patient visit in September 2025. They scheduled me for January 2026. They called a week before my appointment when I was in the car to tell me she went on maternity leave and I could not be seen by anyone for six months - June 19. I was in the car so I recorded it wrong and missed the appointment. Now they will not reschedule it because I missed it. I have been with the SB Clinic for nearly 20 years and have never been made to feel more unwanted and uncared for than with this office. They clearly do not care about people. read more

Phlebotomy department needs extensive training. Aside from 3 people between the entirety of all locations in area not one single person can draw blood from anywhere but the axillary. These labs really need to hire people with more experience, do some training or at the very least have a seasoned phlebotomist that can access veins that are not typically used. So tired of having to get stuck 5 to 6 different times just to have to leave to either go somewhere else or wait days passed the time my labs are due in order to get someone who knows what they are doing. read more

Got set up for surgery on a Friday and they did not turn in the insurance paperwork and doctor did not show up again I had to get a different doctor not at the clinic and the clinic charged me $300 for no services and now are trying to collect more do not go to this facility read more

We have been patients at the South Bend Clinic for 25 plus years. It has been sold to Dupage and now Duly, every aspect of patient care has suffered. Billing is no longer done in South Bend...it is outsourced as is a significant amount of lab work. Recently we have had a serious misdiagnosis through theor urgent care, which cost my daughter the majority of one kidneys function which she will enjoy for the rest of her life. Scheduling went smoothly with some adjustments and I was kept informed as needed. Personnel were all friendly and professional for all visits and procedures. My surgeon, Dr Statz, did a great job of answering my questions, explaining my options and did an exceptional job performing a complex procedure. Shady billing practices. Twice now I have gone in for simple procedures and later was billed for much more than expected. The first time, I went in for an annual physical. I told them at the beginning of the appointment that I was only there for my annual physical which is covered by insurance. Anything outside of an annual physical I would take care of in a separate appointment. When I received my bill it was for almost $1,000. The second time, I scheduled an ingrown toe nail removal. I received a good faith estimate of $180. After the procedure I was bill $487. When I asked why they said the estimate was just for an office appointment. Why would they estimate an office appointment when I was SCHEDULED for a ingrown toe nail removal. If you have been billed incorrectly contact CMS.gov. They are in charge of the No Surprises Billing Act. This is a morally bankrupt medical facility. read more

Have been a patient at SBC for 25 years, but will be leaving. Dropped off paperwork needed for a significant insurance discount two weeks before due date, heard nothing, called and was told it would be done that day, heard nothing, called again 48 hours later and still not done. Was told that they could only send it to me by fax, a form of communication not available to me. This will cost me 75$ a month this year, I will be giving my business to someone who cares, as they obviously do not. read more

We have been patients at SBC for 20 plus years. Their customer service has gone downhill since Duly took over. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but things kept getting worse. I finally got away from them and have new doctors elsewhere. The level of care with the new doctors is amazing. I had filed a complaint at SBC about a nurse who was rude and indifferent. They said they would look into it but she is still there. We are so glad to be totally away from S BC. read more

So here we are some 10 years later and they are still the same horrible practice. I'm finding that they are discriminatory in their billing practice. Unfortunately my doctor's office merged with them so I am forced to use them for a procedure. I paid of my debt that should've never been sent to collections because I offered to pay them what I could afford in 2011, but because they want to bleed a turnip and don't really care that you are struggling to pay other bills, child care, rent, and other necessities, they don't allow good faith payments and just send you to collects. I was called today by a very nice lady, so this is not about her, this is about the practice. She got everything set up for my appointment and then tells me that even though I've paid the debt I still have to pay the reinstatement fee. So let me get this straight, 10 years later you're still coming at me about this reinstatement fee AND you have a $50 reinstatement fee. So if my balance sent to collections was 1500 and I have to pay 30% of that plus the $50 that's 500. Oh and they wanted my deductible upfront as well. So now you want me to come up with all of this money. I find their practice as a way to exclude people from going there or keep them from coming back if they don't have the means to pay their bills and then these ridiculous reinstatement fees. I'm thankful that my financial situation has changed, but everyone's has not. I still think these fees is a bunch of crap, but I'm in a situation where I have no choice. But, let me point out...EXCLUSION is not a popular word right now...considering the current political climate..they might want to consider a better way to run their business practices because with all this cancellation, things can go real bad really fast for them. If I didn't have to use them, I wouldn't. My advice to anyone is to stay far away from them, unless you have unlimited cash flow. read more

While individual doctors and staff are surely not worthy of this rating, the difficulty of making appointments and navigating archaic systems is incredibly frustrating. I'm finding myself waiting days upon days for a callback, only to be bounced to another department, only to have to wait more days. As I write this, I've spent well over a week just trying to make an appointment to deal with a pain issue. This is far, far too long, and far more frustrating than it should be. I would highly recommend avoiding them until they're able to get new systems in place that are more user-focused and friendly. read more

After about 20 years I am considering a change. Doctors are leaving right and left and the patient is a non considered fact. My doctor is great but I don't get to see him anymore only a NP. One of my doctors just retired at a very early age, why? Appointments have been cancelled and rescheduled at a time when I cannot make it. No options at all. A lot of new procedures that are not patient friendly. Thank God most to the staff is still helpful. I hope the new owners have not cut their pay or benefits. I want my doctor back at least once every two or three visits. Stop the turnover and think about your customer. I like and appreciate my doctor but this is the third year I have paid 40% towards my mammogram and now my bone density scan. Ever since Duly bought out South Bend Clinic, it is hard telling what radiologist will be reading your mammogram and bone density scan. The person reading the scans may not be in your network. Never again will I have them done at the South Bend Clinic. My doctor will have to send me somewhere else. read more

What is happening to The South Bend Clinic? I heard it is due to the corporation that purchased them. All about the numbers & the money. What a shame after all these years. I have been a patient since the day I was born being cared for by Dr. Erickson from the Pediatric dept. I am now 65 yrs old. All I know is that a large number of very knowledgeable & caring physicians have left over the last year. I have lost 2 endocrinologists in the past 7 months & today I learned that my PCP is leaving the end of August. No notification, but just happened to call about about an ultrasound that the endocrinologists had ordered. What an unpleasant surprise, especially since that's who I was directed to for my endocrinology needs. I love the Radiology dept, the Allergy/Asthma dept & the Rehab dept & the non-existant Endocrinology dept. SBC has taken care of me all of my life. But they also took care of my children, my parents. I have referred many people to SBC, but now I am at a loss. They have a brand new lab & I was so excited that they were going to become the new Community lab after The South Bend Medical Foundation sold the diagnostic portion of their 100+ yr old business to LabCorp. Obviously it"s just another big corporation taking over, nothing to do with Community care. So sad. If I am wrong I would love to be proven incorrect. Had my first and last experience at the South Bend clinic. To say that was a bad experience would be a massive understament, I really don't think any one there has a clue what they are doing. Had to get a x-ra, the doctor said he would call later the same day or the next, it took 3 weeks before some woman called and read the report. To late for the, I was already receiving treatment from another doctor, who was very competent and followed through. If I could select a negative star I would. This company will hold invoices back, not send them to you and then file a judgement with the court system. You will not win your case even if you have back up and a good argument so don't even try. I am a single mother of two children, one being autistic. Extreme hardship and not only did they charge past due medical bills but they will tack on every charge possible and it will be granted by the court. Possible corruption? I think so. I scheduled surgery at this clinic and I was so pleased. The nurses and anesthesiologists detail what is going on and why they're performing a certain element - checking respiration, giving nerve block, etc - and it made me rest and relax before my procedure. Though it was packed and the nurses were assigned several patients, I never felt neglected. In fact I was so amazed at their flexibility with equipment and scheduling. I would recommend this place to anyone who is a bit nervous about surgery, they will make you feel comfortable and informed. read more

The clinic just keeps steadily getting worse. I've tried for three days to get a refill. I've left messages, tried the new Duly app, and tried the chat through the website. Their customer service is horrendous and that's if you can ever get someone to even answer the phones. The phone menu does not even give the option of talking to a person and I couldn't even leave a message. I waited 25 minutes listening to the maddening hold music and finally just gave up. Dr Kufold retired, so now his patients can't been seen for 5 months. The first available is 10/13/23. My dad is 85 years old, hx of stroke, HTN, dementia. So I asked what he should do with regarding his health, protime blood test and Rx refills. I was told to basically figure it out til then. I asked the hours of their walkin clinic. I was told it was for emergencies only. I said this is an emergency as he needs labs and prescriptions to live before suffering another stroke and possibly dying. Fraudulent business practices. I specifically called and scheduled a yearly physical. Told them I didn't want anything more than that because of my high deductible insurance. Then the doctor asked me a few questions during the physical and I got the bill for $123 for an office visit. I've called three times and appealed it, asked to speak to a director, etc. The director has yet to call me back, they're always confused about the bill, and most of them have been so rude to me. They can see that I swiftly pay the bill when I know I owe it, but refuse to even talk to me about this one. All of that during a pandemic when we're all struggling. I'm so frustrated with them. I like my doctor there, but I can see from all the reviews, and my experience, that they care nothing for our health and only for making as many charges as possible to take our money when they're not owed it. read more

Absolute garbage. I was told on the phone that a standard office visit would be $100, and that if additional testing was needed, I would be quoted a price before being asked to approve it. I did not have insurance when I went two years ago. They ended up charging me $255 for a doctor to see me for 5 minutes when I had the flu and a sinus infection in 2018. After I complained about being lied to about the bill, they sent me a letter in the mail stating I am now banned from going there in the future (not that I would ever go there again). You will wait literally hours to get someone on the phone and then it's just a call center. You can't directly call and talk to the doctors office so they can't do anything but schedule an appointment. God forbid you just have a question. read more

Now, went to the urgent care yesterday and pharmacy only got one script called in (was supposed to be two). I've been calling them for two days straight and cannot get a reply. Dr. Mohs is fantastic. The receptionist at the ENT dept is Incredibly annoying. She has so much attitude, and is always exasperated even if I'm asking a non-annoying question. This is a problem that I have seen with other receptionists at the South Bend clinic as well. They refuse to let you speak to the person you really need to, and try to handle questions themselves as if they are doctors, even when they are absolutely not qualified to do so. I don't understand why the "face of the department" is allowed to be so rude and still keep their job. read more

I was dropping off a body fluid sample for a client of mine I was rudely told that the container that it was in what is not a sterile container. also while I waited and when my number was called I was practically yelled at for not grabbing the right number. The young lady at the Lab desk her name is Crystal does not need to be working with people sick people at all she is a horrible person. the South Bend clinic can do better than this I will never return come back their ever!!! read more

The doctors are for the most part great, but the staff do not safely wear their masks and do not make patients wear them. It is simply not a safe environment. One check in staff argued that she shouldn't have to wear her mask over her nose because she had a couple of feet of plexiglass between her and me. This virus is airborne, we have rising infection numbers in the county and a spike in COVID hospitalizations, and their receptionists routinely are wearing masks below their noses, loose fitting ones where you can see their entire mouth through the side, and we saw patients with no mask on at all. We were able to have one appointment for my son virtually which was wonderful. Try your best to do that if at all possible! read more
