Also, originally we were going to get picked up from Chicago Union Station, and we changed it to Homewood two days before before we left. There was no charge, and the person on the phone at Americar shuttle changed the reservation quickly, courteously, and no change in price. They seem very flexible and customer oriented.

Our tour guide was a retired high school history teacher and football coach with all sorts of interesting stories about the region. We passed Mount Baldy, the "living" sand dune that moves, at Indiana Dunes National Park and made it all the way down to a good view of the Century of Progress homes before making our way back. We also got to hear all about the ship, the Emita II, which is a historic ship from the 1950s, and about how it reached its current home. It was also very cute that Captain Jan had the kids come up and take turns at the wheel on the way back. There is a snack bar on the lower level of the boat, and there are restrooms on board. Free parking is available a little walk away - walk towards the Lighthouse Museum, as the dock is behind there. Definitely a great adventure!

I had exchanged an email with Shane, the owner, confirming the date and time for pick up on Thanksgiving weekend. "Yes, Mr. L, you are confirmed".....Long story short.....My son was left at O'hare with no car to pick him up. Called Shane, the owner, who proceeded to tell me that I messed up. I have a very clear email with details and his confirmation. Shane's response: "well, we are clearly not going to charge you". Just what I wanted....At $285 per trip, you would think he would care a bit more. No "jeez I am sorry that your son is stuck". This is the service that they give to a good customer. I will NEVER USE AMBIENCE again. And now I've found that Uber is 30% less!

We were in South Bend about a month and a half ago to attend the Notre Dame vs. Louisville game. We flew into Chicago, grabbed about 12 of his buddies, and made the drive up to our hotel in South Bend, which was a few miles from the stadium. We didn't know how big of a deal parking for the game was going to be around the stadium, or how bad the traffic was going to be after the game, and since there was 12 of us, we decided to get a bit crazy, and rent a party bus to take us to the game, and then hopefully get us out of there afterwards. Afterwards, we had dinner reservations at the Lasalle Grill, therefore we had to get there quickly afterwards. We dialed up Michiana Party Bus, and they had a great special going on, therefore we booked their service. Their service was great from start to finish, with the booking going very smoothly, and the ride was great. We got a tour of South Bend, stopped at Fiddler's Heath for a Guinness or two, then went to Notre Dame Stadium. The game ended in a a Louisville win, which my cousin loved, and off we went to our dinner reservations. We made dinner right at the time of our reso, which was great. I would recommend Michiana Party Bus to anyone who is in the Elkhart or South Bend area!
