It's a good-sized airport but still very easy to navigate and completely walkable. The airport appears to have been recently updated (almost new) with a sleek and modern design throughout. What stood out most to me was how empty it felt both on arrival and departure. There were plenty of open seats, not crowded at all. The biggest downside was the food selection, especially in the U.S. terminal. There were only a couple dining options and one lounge with fairly underwhelming food offerings. That said, gates and flight information were easy to find, and overall the airport functions efficiently and smoothly. Next time I'd probably get my own food before heading to the airport, but otherwise it does exactly what you need it to do.

I was disappointed though to see Victoria's Secret boutique is gone, as well as the vintage luxury shop. They seem to be renovating that area, so that's probably why. Made some purchases at The Loop and got some macarons from La Biscuitterie - very delicious for airport macarons! I have never had (yet) a bad experience or long lineup at security here (so far). As far as airports go, I would take that one anytime over smaller airports with nothing to do.

This review is actually for Montreal's Mirabel Airport (YMX), so the rating is for that location, as opposed to being blended for both airports. - - - - - If you build it, they may not come. Aeroports de Montreal is the umbrella entity operating P.E.-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in the Dorval area, which is the airport everyone knows about, as well as Montreal-Mirabel International Airport (YMX), which is located quite a ways north of both the city and its huge island suburb of Laval. Similarly, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey operates JFK, LaGuardia, Newark-Liberty and possibly one other airport. Also, Los Angeles World Airports operates other Southland airports in addition to LAX. Locals may diss on Trudeau, formerly called Dorval, but I think it's an airport that has been getting better and better. It's a little ways west of the city, but if you think Trudeau is far, you ought to see how far Mirabel is. That said, this review is largely about Mirabel Airport. When Montreal was on the cusp of becoming a force to reckon with and was growing rapidly and building its infrastructure, the current leadership in the Montreal area deemed that a super airport way up on the north shore should be built to accommodate future growth. Along with that, it was expected that both a highway link and a train link would be built to make Mirabel reachable from the city center, or Centre-Ville. The enthusiasm in Montreal was reportedly running very high at the time, pursuant to the building of the Metro and the Olympic Village. In fact, Mirabel Airport opened with a massive terminal in 1975, just in time to handle the traffic for the 1976 Olympic games. Montreal's international carriers had set up operations at Mirabel and, for a while, this was the main international airport. However, the fact that the anticipated growth did not occur called for retrenching and reestablishing then-Dorval as the de facto main airport for the area. Another way to look at it is that Toronto eclipsed Montreal as the economic engine of Canada and, as such, Toronto-Pearson is now Canada's busiest airport. Mirabel continued on largely as an airport for charter flights and other operations. In my travels to this area, I have taken the brief detour westward from the 15 - Autoroute des Laurentides - to see what Mirabel was like. It is one massive terminal that is big, boxy, and looks like a huge convention center from the 70s, such as McCormick Place in Chicago, in the midst of what appears to be farmland. I once remember being able to drive up on the passenger loading and unloading ramp along the front of Mirabel's terminal and remembering how quiet is was. Mirabel is reportedly now a center for aerospace related industries. Coincidentally, when the nearby GM plant along the 15 in Ste. Therese-Boisbriand ceased operations, lastly building Camaros and Firebirds, Bell Helicopters, an aerospace concern, took over that space and one can see a helicopter out front instead of a Camaro or a Firebird.

No metro station, no dedicated bus line straight downtown. There is always Uber or cabs. Cabs have a flat fee if headed downtown unfortunately I don't know what it is. For the hotels around the airport, many have shuttle service. The airport has a couple of restaurant options, some before customs some after. There is a duty free shop which offers everything you need to be forgiven. Remember there are two sides of the airport, national and international concourses. Bon voyage

Employees don't seem to be in any hurry, don't care attitude. Time to start flying out Burlington again. Christmas is tomorrow and we're stuck in circus at an airport run by clowns. Our room was pleasant, the bathrooms were clean, and the breakfasts were delicious. A typical breakfast there consists of pancakes or french toast or an omelet with fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee or tea. And always a side of maple syrup. The host, Tony, is friendly and will make sure you are comfortable. He speaks French and English and, I believe, also Italian and Spanish. He is happy to explain how to get around Montréal. And he is happy to make recommendations on restaurants and tourist attractions. As tourists, we found the location to be perfect. (See discussion below.) You won't need a rental car if you are using this B & B as a base for exploring the city. If you do have a car, there will be no assigned parking space for you; however, there is free street parking nearby. Repos & Manna is located in quartier Petite-Bourgogne (Little Burgundy neighborhood) on the quiet and pleasant rue Quesnel, within walking distance of numerous nice restaurants. This B & B is two blocks from métro station Georges-Vanier, where you can quickly and economically get to Centre-Ville (downtown) and Vieux-Port (historic old port). In fact, the métro will take you most places in Montréal that a tourist would want to go. You can get from the PIerre-Trudeau international airport to this B & B using express bus 747. A transit pass can be purchased from a machine in the airport terminal, and that pass is good on the buses (including the 747) and on the métro. You will take the 747 bus to Lionel-Groulx, which is within walking distance of Repos & Manna. There are YouTube videos that explain how to purchase a transit pass at the Montréal airport terminal and how to find the 747 express bus outside the terminal building. So, even if you are new to Montréal, you can, with a little homework, figure out how to get to Repos & Manna from the airport terminal without having to rent a car or engage a shared-ride service.

The people working the front desk were super nice every-time I talked to them. The bed was very comfortable and my room had everything I needed for the night. It was more expensive than I was hoping but the location and the luxury look make it the higher price. It did have a gym and pool that were easy to get access to. Checkout was at noon like usual. Overall a great stay.

Prior to making the reservation I called customer support to clarify questions related to insurance and pricing for electric vehicles. The customer service representative could not answer any of my basic questions such as "what does insurance cover", continued to read the same website that I read to them as my question when I called, put me on hold multiple times to "google the answer" and had no solutions for their incompetence. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle for my reservation time I was informed that there were no cars available and I would have to wait. The staff member helping me did not communicate clearly, was disrespectful, completely ignored me when I was talking, even walking away when I asked questions. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or offer other options. When I asked how long the wait would be they had no information and when I asked if I would be reimbursed for the time lost they said "no, that's what you get when you pre pay". I made a reservation and paid in advance for a reason but did not receive the car until 2 1/2 hours after my reservation time. I understand that scheduling mishaps happen and timelines change when traveling, however the staff at budget were unprofessional and rude. I was incredibly disappointed and would not recommend booking with them.

The room was quiet, with laminate floors, and we did not hear guests on either side of us or above us. There was very minimal hallway noise, aside from staff cleaning and the occasional guest. Our room was pretty far from the elevators which I think helped with any noise pollution. We did stay during Valentines weekend, and it was pretty busy, but very quiet on our floor. The bathroom was spacious and closed off from the room. I did not enjoy the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. I think adding a fan in the bathroom and an option to turn it on to help with ventilation would be ideal to help reduce smells. I've stayed in plenty of hotel rooms that offer a fan option on their thermostat, just to create some sense of white noise and breeze in the room and there was none here. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to pack a fan or white noise machine. The beds were very comfortable. There is a pool and sauna on site, which my kid enjoyed. We were here from late Friday evening, to Sunday afternoon, and unfortunately our rooms were never made up, even after calling front desk to request it while we were gone for an event. Staff were accommodating when we did find them in the halls, and always provided extra towels and toilet paper upon request. It just would have been nice to come back to our hotel with made beds and empty trash bins after being gone for several hours. The location of this hotel is fantastic, with so many amenities close by. I would not be opposed to staying here again, especially with how quiet the hotel room was. I've stayed in much, much worse!

There is a shuttle that will take you into town that stops here every 30 minutes or so. Watch out when looking for fuel, it's easy to taxi to the Jet A pump instead of 100LL, so make sure you're at the correct pump before fueling up! Runway is long which is good for the potential for density altitude. A walk into town is only about twenty minutes (about 1.2 miles away) or you can take a taxi for $6 or so. The best nearby hiking options are Mount Wright and Cascade, Wright being a 5-6 hour round trip while Cascade is shorter at 3-4 hours. The start of these trails are both about 20 minutes from the airport and a taxi ride to the trailhead will cost you about $20 one-way.
