Now I live in Patchogue, but I still come here, either by the S66 bus route (Beaver Dam road stop) or by bike. What I like about this library is the homey feel you get when you first walk in. It's almost always quiet, very clean, the large arm chairs are comfortable, and they have a nice large print room with a great view of the wooded neighbourhood. Unlike most other libraries, when you use their computers you don't really have a time limit, and they offer good quality headphones free of charge! This library has a keurig machine with tea and coffee k-cups so you have something to drink while you read. My favourite is their Annual Winter Tea event hosted every February, which has been occuring for over 20 years. It's the biggest event of the year, and all of the locals flock here to enjoy poetry, musikk by a local band called The New Students, and they have finger food afterwards.

They remodeled since my past days here to a more modern design aesthetic. Plenty of programs for children and adults, along with events. A multitude of book categories for those who like to read. Nice seating all around. Even a small cafe here now to grab a drink and snack.

I wouldn't mind this, except when I was told this, all the rooms were open. It would be nice to allow others to use the rooms if they're available, and just prioritize bayport blue point residents, which is what my home library does. Only problem is the parking lot is on the other side of the street and the traffic is so bad on Hillside Avenue. Cars drive very fast on Hillside Avenue and I feel scared even when standing there to wait for the traffic light.

I came to this library for the first time for toddler open play and I thought it was great! It took…read moreplace on the 2nd floor and the area is next to a bunch of windows so you can see outside facing the library parking lot and street. A lot of natural light comes in and it's a big space for open play with a ton of toy options and a table just for coloring. The one negative is once open play is over (about an hour), they put away all the toys. I've been to other libraries where they leave the toys out for the children to play with as long as the library is open. The parking lot is very big and there were plenty of spots when I went, which was a weekday at 4:30pm. I liked how the open play was in the middle of the day as early times don't work for my family's schedule.

This little library recently had a glow up, and it's looking pretty lovely!…read more I liked coming here before their renovations, but it's even more of a treat now that there are new desks, chairs, and decor to brighten up the space. I actually gasped when I walked in the first time after they reopened. Everything is neat and tidy with each section clearly marked. The Teen Zone is my personal favorite - all cozy and fun in its own space on the main floor. The staff are great and more than willing to find answers to your questions. You sometimes have to bounce to different specialists for certain questions, but I've always been able to find someone who could help me with what I need. I'm glad I live close by. It's a great excuse to visit this charming little place every so often!
